In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

All praise belongs to Allah, Who has, in every breath of our breaths and every passing thought of our thoughts, favours that cannot be counted, in every glance of our glances, blessings that cannot be forgotten, and in every state of our states, a kindness that cannot be hidden. And glory be to Allah, Who subdues the strong, helps the weak, mends the broken, enriches the poor, accepts the little and gives much, and He has power over all things.

اس اللہ کی حمد کہ نفس کی ہر آمد و شد، اور ہمارے تمام ذہنی خیالات پر اس کے اتنے احسان ہیں جن کا شمار نہیں ہو سکتا، اور ہر ہر لمحہ میں اتنی نعمتیں ہیں جو بُھلائی نہیں جا سکتیں، اور ہر حالت میں ایک ایسا فائدہ ہے جو مخفی نہیں، اور پاک ہے وہ اللہ جو طاقتوروں کو مغلوب کرتا، اور کمزوروں کو امداد دیتا ہے، ٹوٹے دلوں کو جوڑتا، محتاجوں کو غنی کرتا ہے اور معمولی سے معمولی عمل بھی قبول کرتا، اور زیادہ سے زیادہ نعمتیں عطا کرتا ہے، اور وہ ہر بات پر قادر ہے۔

And there is no god but Allah, ample in blessing, consummate in wisdom, crushing in proof, vast in mercy, Granter of protection from sin. And Allah is the Greatest, Possessor of unassailable authority, lofty edifice, wondrous origination and swift reckoning. And may Allah bless Mohammad (s.a.w.a), the best of the prophets, and his pure Progeny (a.s), and send them abundant peace.

اور اس اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں جس کی نعمت کامل، حکمت صحیح، حجّت قاطع، رحمت وسیع، حفاظت کا عطا کرنے والا ہے، اور اللہ بہت بلند و برتر ہے۔ اس کی سلطنت محفوظ، اس کی بنیادیں بلند، اس کی تخلیق بے مثال، اس کا محاسبہ تیز ہے، اور نبیّوں میں سب سے بہتر نبی حضرت محمدؐ اور ان کی معصوم اولادؑ پر رحمت اور کامل ترین سلامتیاں نازل ہوں۔

O Allah! I ask You with the asking of one who fears his standing at the Standing, trembles at the presentation, dreads the calamities of the Resurrection, is seized unawares, regrets his sins, and is to be questioned, reckoned with, rewarded and punished; whom no place can hide from You, who has found no escape except to You, disowning and seeking refuge from his evil deeds, confessing his great sins, whom anxieties have surrounded and for whom the wide expanses of the earth have grown narrow, certain of death, hastening to repentance before it is too late, if You grant it to him and pardon. For You, my God, are my hope when hope grows narrow for me, and my refuge when I find no courtyard in which to take refuge. You are alone, my Master, in might and loftiness, and single in Oneness and everlastingness; You are the Mighty, alone in glory.

خداوندا! جیسے میدانِ حشر میں کوئی خوفزدہ، یا حاضری سے لرزاں، قیامت کی خطر ناک گرفت سے ترسان، غرور پر گرفتار، خطاؤں سے شرمسار، بازپرس کے پابند، محاسبہ میں مبتلا، عذاب سے دوچار ہو کر شخص دعا کرتا ہے، جسے کوئی مکان چھپا نہ سکے اور تیرے سوا کوئی پناہ دینے والا نہ ہو، وہ اپنے بُرے اعمال سے الگ اور توبہ کر کے اپنے بڑے بڑے گناہوں کا اقرار کر رہا ہو، غموں نے اسے گھیر رکھا ہو، زمین کی وسعتیں اس کے لئے تنگ ہو گئی ہوں، موت کا یقین ہو، اور فوت ہونے سے پہلے توبہ کے لئے جلدی کر رہا ہو۔ اب اگر تونے اس کی التجا سُن کر احسان کیا اور معاف کر دیا تو میرے معبود تو اس وقت بھی میری آرزو ہے جب تمنّائیں دم توڑ رہی ہوں، تو اس وقت میری پناہ گاہ ہے جب پناہ مانگنے کے لئے کوئی آستانہ نہ مل رہا ہو۔ میرے مولا! تو اقتدار و بلندی میں منفرد، اور وحدانیت و بقا میں یکتا ہے، بزرگی و عظمت میں توہی معزّز و منفرد ہے۔

So Yours is the praise, my Lord! No place hides anything from You, and no age or time changes You. By Your power You brought together what was divided and split the daybreak; by Your generosity You lit up the depths of the darkness of night; You made sweet, fresh water flow from hard, solid rocks, poured abundant water from the rain clouds, made the sun a blazing lamp for creation and the moon and stars (set) in constellations, without suffering any weariness or toil in what You originated.

میرے پروردگار! تمام تعریفیں تیرے ہی لئے ہیں، نہ تجھے کوئی مکان اوٹ میں لے سکتا ہے، نہ دہر و زمان تجھے بدل سکتا ہے، تونے اپنی قدرت سے متفرقات کو یکجا، اور نور سحر کو ہویدا کیا، اور اپنے کرم سے رات کی تاریکیوں کو دور کیا، ٹھوس اور سخت پتھروں سے شیریں و شفّاف چشمے رواں کیئے۔ بھاری بادلوں سے ٹھنڈے پانی کے ڈونگرے برسائے، اور دنیا کے لئے سورج کو چمکتا چراغ بنایا، چاند ستاروں کو روشنی کے بُرج و مینار بنائے، بغیر اس کے کہ جن چیزوں کو پہلے پہل بنایا اس میں مشق کی ہوتی، یا زحمت و تکلیف اٹھائی ہوتی۔

And You are the God of all things and their Creator, the Compeller of every creature and its Provider. The mighty is the one You make mighty and the abased the one You abase; the fortunate is the one You make fortunate and the wretched the one You make wretched; the rich is the one You make rich and the poor the one You make poor. You are my Guardian and my Master; my provision rests with You and my forelock is in Your hand. So send blessings upon Mohammad (s.a.w.a) and the Progeny (a.s) of Mohammad, do with me what is worthy of You, and turn again with Your bounty to a servant whom his ignorance has overwhelmed and procrastination has mastered, until he lived at ease with the days and committed what is forbidden and sinful. So make me,

اور توہی ہر شئی کا اللہ اور خالق، ہر مخلوق پر غالب اور اس کا رازق ہے، اب باعزت وہ ہے جسے تو عزّت دے اور جسے تو ذلیل کرے وہی ذلیل ہے، جسے تو خوش نصیب بنائے وہی سعید ہے، جسے تو بد نصیب کرے وہ شقی ہے اور جسے تو غنی بنائے وہ غنی ہے، اور جسے تو محتاج رکھے وہ فقیر ہے۔ توہی میرا سرپرست مولا، میری قسمت اور روزی تیرے ہی ہاتھ میں ہے۔ حضرت سیّدنا محمد مصطفٰیؐ اور آلِ محمدؑ پر رحمت نازل فرما، اور میرے ساتھ وہ سلوک کر جو تیرے شایانِ شان ہو، اور اپنے اس بندے پر کرم کی نظر فرما جسے اس کی جہالت نے گھیر لیا، لیت و لعل نے غلبہ کر لیا، یہاں تک کہ اس نے دنیا سے صلح کر لی، ممنوعات اور گناہوں کا ارتکاب کرنے لگا۔

my Master, a servant who flees to repentance, for it is the refuge of sinners; make me free of need of all creatures through Your vast generosity, do not drive me to the worst of people, and grant me Your pardon at the Standing on the Day of Judgement; for You are the Most Merciful of the merciful, the Most Bountiful of the bountiful and the Most Generous of the generous. O He to Whom belong the most beautiful names and the loftiest similitudes, Compeller of the heavens and the earths! To You I have made my way in hope, so do not turn my hand back empty of Your lofty gifts; surely You are Generous, Most Bountiful, O You Who are kind to the servants and keep watch over them!

میرے مالک! مجھے وہ بندہ قرار دے جو توبہ سے پناہ لیتا ہو، کہ توبہ گناہگاروں کی پناہ گاہ ہے۔ مجھے اپنے وسیع کرم کے ذریعے دنیا والوں سے بے نیاز کر دے اور دنیا کے بدقماشوں کا محتاج نہ بنا۔ مجھے روزِ جزا کی منزلِ حساب میں معاف فرما دے، بلا شبہ تو مہربانوں میں سب سے بڑا مہربان، سخاوت کرنے والوں میں سب سے بڑا سخی، صاحبِ اعزاز میں سب سے زیادہ مکرم ہے۔ اے وہ معبود جس کے لئے اسماء حسنٰی (اچّھے اچّھے نام) اور بلند مثالیں ہیں، جو آسمانوں اور زمینوں پر غالب ہے، میں امیدوارانہ طریقہ سے تیرے دربار کا رُخ کر چکا ہوں، اس لئے میرے ہاتھ اپنے روشن عطیّوں سے خالی نہ پھیرا، بلا شبہ توہی سخی، احسان کرنے والا ہے، اے بندوں پر رحم کرنے والے، اور وہ کہ جو بندوں کا خیال رکھتا ہے۔

I ask You to send blessings upon Mohammad (s.a.w.a) and the Progeny (a.s) of Mohammad, to increase my reward, make my final return good, cover my faults, forgive my sins, and rescue me, my Master, by Your bounty from the painful punishment; surely You are Generous, Noble, the Bestower. My bad deeds and my good deeds have cast me between reward and punishment, and I have hoped that, in Your kindness, You will cover Your servant who confesses his grievous faults, by Your generosity and Your nobility, O Forgiver of sins, and overlook his slips. For I have no lord in whom I hope other than You, my Master, and no god but You of whom I ask the mending of my poverty and my want; so do not turn me away from You disappointed, O You Who overlook stumbles and remove distress!

میری درخواست ہے کہ حضرت محمد مصطفٰیؐ و آلِ محمدؑ پر رحمت نازل فرما، اور میرے ثواب کو زیادہ کر، میری منزلِ آخر کو اچّھا بنا، اور میرے عیبوں کو چھپا دے اور میرے گناہوں کو بخش دے۔ اے میرے مولا! مجھے اپنے سنگین عذاب سے بچا، کیونکہ توہی صاحبِ جود و کرم و سخاوت ہے۔ پروردگارا! میری نیکیوں اور بدیوں نے ثواب و عذاب کے درمیان میں ڈال رکھا ہے، مجھے تیری ذات سے یہی اُمید ہے کہ تو اپنے بندے کو سخت ترین عیوب کا اقرار کرنے کے بعد اپنے احسانات سے ڈھانپ لے گا، اے گناہ بخشنے والے، تجھے اپنے جود و کرم کا صدقہ اور اس شخص کی لغزشوں سے درگذر فرمائے گا، کیونکہ میرے مولا، تیرے سوا میرا پروردگار کوئی نہیں جس سے آس لگاؤں، اور تیرے علاوہ میرا کوئی معبود نہیں جس سے اپنے فقر و فاقے کو دور کرنے کی درخواست کروں، اے لغزشوں کو معاف کرنے، اور زحمتوں کو دور کرنے والے مجھے اپنی بارگاہ سے ناکام واپس نہ کرنا۔

My God! Gladden me, for I am not the first You have gladdened, O Master of blessings, Severe in vengeance, Everlasting in glory and generosity! Single me out with a forgiveness from You that no wretchedness accompanies and a happiness that no harm comes near; inspire me with fear of You and love of You, keep me away from the ruinous sins of disobedience to You, and do not give the Fire power over me; surely You are worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. I have called on You and You have taken it upon Yourself to answer; so do not disappoint Your asker, do not forsake Your seeker and do not turn back the one who hopes in You, O Best of those hoped in! And I ask You by Your kindness, Your mercy, Your singleness and Your Lordship,

میرے معبود! مجھے خوش کر دے کہ میں پہلا خوش ہونے والا نہیں ہوں گا جسے تونے خوش کر دیا ہو، اے نعمتوں کے مالک اور سزاؤں میں سخت، دائمی مجد و کرم کے مالک، مجھے اپنی اس مغفرت کے لئے مخصوص کر دے، جس کے نزدیک بدبختی کا گذر نہ ہو، اور وہ سعادت نصیب فرما جس کے قریب اذیّت کا نام نہ ہو، اپنے تقویٰ اور محبت کی توفیق دے، اور ہلاکت خیز معصیت سے محفوظ فرما، آتش جہنم کو میرے اُوپر غالب نہ آنے دے، بلا شبہ توہی تقویٰ اور مغفرت کا اہل ہے، میں تجھے پکارتا ہوں اور تونے قبولیت کا وعدہ فرمایا ہے، لہذا اپنے سائل کو نا کام اور اپنے طالب کو محروم، اپنے اُمید وار کو نا اُمید نہ فرما، اے بہترین مرکزِ آرزو میں تجھ سے تیری مہربانی و رحمت و فردانیت و ربوبیّت کے واسطے دے کر سوال کرتا ہوں۔

O He Who has power over all things and encompasses all things! Spare me what concerns me of the affairs of my world and my Hereafter, for You are the Hearer of prayer, gentle to whom You will; and raise me to the rank of those for whom You have made it due to dwell in the abode of Your honour, with Your chosen ones and those You have singled out for Your abundant gifts, in the ranks of Your gardens, with those whom You have favoured, of the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs and the righteous; and how excellent are they as companions!

اے ہر چیز پر قدرت اور ہر چیز کا احاطہ رکھنے والے، مجھے دنیا و آخرت کے جن معاملات نے غمگین بنا رکھا ہے ان سے نجات دے، کیونکہ توہی دعائیں سُننے اور جس پر چاہے رحم کرنے والا ہے، مجھے ان لوگوں کے درجوں میں داخل فرما، جن کے لئے تونے اپنی کرامت کی منزلوں میں اترنا فرض کر دیا ہے، ان لوگوں کے ساتھ جو تیرے منتخب بندے اور تیرے عظیم ترین عطیّوں سے خصوصیت رکھتے ہیں، یہ ساتھ جنّت کے ان درجوں میں ہو جہاں تیری نعمت یافتہ لوگ پیغمبر، صدّیق و شہید اور نیک عمل لوگ ہوں گے، ان لوگوں کی رفاقت کیسی اچّھی رفاقت ہوگی؟

And whatever You have made obligatory upon me, bear it for me towards those whose rights You have made binding, of fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, and forgive me and them together with the believing men and women; surely You are Near, Answering, vast in blessings, and that is easy for You, O Most Merciful of the merciful! And may Allah bless Mohammad, the Prophet, and his Progeny (a.s), and send them abundant peace.

معبود! جو فرائض مجھ سے متعلق ہیں ان کو تو ادا کر دے، یعنی ماں باپ، بھائی بہن کے وہ حقوق جو تو نے مجھ پر واجب کیے ہیں، تمام مومنین و مومنات کے ساتھ مجھے اور میرے قرابت داروں کو معاف کر دے۔ بلا شبہ تو قریب، دعا سُننے والا، اور وسیع برکتوں کا مالک ہے، اے مہربانوں میں سب سے بڑے مہربان، میری عرض تیرے لئے بہت سہل و آسان ہے۔ اور اللہ تعالٰی رحمت اور مکمل سلامتیاں نازل فرمائے حضرت محمد مصطفٰیؐ اور ان کی معصوم و اطہر اولادؑ پر۔

O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.

اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آلؑ پر۔
