ابو بصیر سے منقول ہے کہ میں نے امام جعفر صادقؑ سے اپنی حاجات کا ذکر کیا اور عرض کیا : مجھے وسعتِ رزق کی کوئی دعا تعلیم فرمائیں تو آپ نے مجھے یہ دعا تعلیم فرمائی اور میں نے جب اس کو پڑھنا شروع کیا کبھی محتاج نہیں ہوا، آپؑ نے فرمایا : نمازِ تہجد میں سجدے کی حالت میں کہو۔۔۔
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
يَا خَيْرَ مَدْعُوٍّ وَيَا خَيْرَ مَسْئُوْلٍ وَيَا اَوْسَعَ مَنْ اَعْطٰى وَيَا خَيْرَ مُرْتَجًی اُرْزُقْنِىْ وَاَوْسِعْ عَلَىَّ مِن رِّزْقِكَ وَسَبِّبْ لِىْ رِزْقًا مِنْ قِبَلِكَ اِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ۔
Yaa khayra mad'uwwin wayaa khayra mas'oolin wayaa awsa'a man a'taa wayaa khayra murtajan urzuqnee wa-awsi' 'alayya min rizqika wasabbib lee rizqan min qibalika innaka 'alaa kulli shay'in qadeer.
O best of all those whom may be besought, O best of all those whom may be begged, O most ample-giver of all those who may give, and O best of all those in whom hope may be placed, (please) provide me with sustenance, grant me liberal sustenance, and cause me to receive sustenance from Your Presence, for You have power over all things.
اے بہترین ذات جسے پکارا اور جس سے سوال کیا جاتا ہے! اے سب سے زیادہ عطا کرنے والے اے بہترین آرزوشدہ مجھے رزق دے اپنا رزق میرے لئے فراوان کر دے اور اپنی طرف سے میری روزی کے وسیلے مہیا فرما کیوں کہ یقیناً تو ہر چیز پر قدرت رکھتا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allaahumma salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aali muhammad.
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آلؑ پر۔
Referring to the same supplicatory prayer, Shaikh Tusi, in his book of Misbah Mutahajjid, has mentioned that this supplicatory prayer may be said in the 2nd prostration of the 8th unit of the Night Prayer.
مؤلف کہتے ہیں: شیخ طوسیؒ نے مصباح میں اس دعا کو نمازِ تہجد کی آٹھویں رکعت کے سجدۂ آخر میں پڑھنے کا ذکر فرمایا ہے۔
