Allahumma ya Sabab
اَللّٰهُمَّ يَا سَبَبَ
A supplication for lawful provision, kept among the texts on barakat in rizq.
It addresses Allah in a way few duas do — as “the cause of the one for whom there is no cause, the cause of all that have a cause, the cause of causes where there is no cause” — placing Him behind every chain of means by which provision arrives.
What it asks is not simply more, but independence of the right kind: to be made needless of what He has forbidden through what He has permitted, needless of disobedience through obedience to Him, and needless of everyone else through His grace.
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ يَا سَبَبَ مَنْ لَا سَبَبَ لَهٗ يَا سَبَبَ كُلِّ ذِیْ سَبَبٍ يَا مُسَبِّبُ الْاَسْبَابِ بِغَيْرِ سَبَبٍ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَاَغْنِنِیْ بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ وَبِطَاعَتِكَ عَنْ مَعْصِيَتِكَ وَبِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ يَا حَیُّ يَا قَيُّوْمُ۔
Allahumma yaa sababa man laa sababa lahu yaa sababa kulle zee sababin yaa mosabbe-bul as-baabe be-ghaire sababin salle ‘alaa mohammadiw wa aale mohammadin wa aghnenee be-halaale-ka ‘an haraame-ka wa be-taa’ate-ka ‘an ma’se-yate-ka wa be-fazle-ka ‘amman sewaa-ka yaa haiyyo yaa qaiyyoom.
O Allah, O the cause of one for whom there is no cause, O cause of all that have cause. O cause of causes in that where there is no cause. Bless Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad. Make me needless through Your permissible from Your prohibited. And through Your obedience from Your disobedience and by Your Grace from others than You. O the Living, O the Everlasting.
اے اللہ! اے اُس کے سہارا جس کے پاس کوئی سہارا نہیں، اے ہر سہارا رکھنے والے کا سہارا، اے بغیر کسی وسیلے کے تمام وسیلے پیدا کرنے والے! محمدؐ اور آلِ محمدؑ پر درود بھیج، اور مجھے اپنے حلال سے حرام سے بچا کر بے نیاز کر دے، اور اپنی اطاعت کے ذریعے گناہ سے دور رکھ، اور اپنے فضل سے مجھے اپنے سوا ہر ایک سے بے نیاز کر دے۔ اے ہمیشہ زندہ! اے سب کو قائم رکھنے والے!
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allahumma swalle alaa muhammadiw wa aale muhammadin
Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
