In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Ha Mim.

حمۤ۔

The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise.

یہ خدائے عزیز و حکیم کی نازل کی ہوئی کتاب ہے۔

We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two save with truth and (for) an appointed term; and those who disbelieve turn aside from what they are warned of.

ہم نے آسمان و زمین اور ان کے درمیان کی تمام مخلوقات کو حق کے ساتھ اور ایک مقررہ مدّت کے ساتھ پیدا کیا ہے اور جن لوگوں نے کفر اختیار کر لیا وہ ان باتوں سے کنارہ کش ہو گئے ہیں جن سے انہیں ڈرایا گیا ہے۔

Say: Have you considered what you call upon besides Allah? Show me what they have created of the earth, or have they a share in the heavens? Bring me a book before this or traces of knowledge, if you are truthful.

تو آپ کہہ دیں کہ کیا تم نے ان لوگوں کو دیکھا ہے جنہیں خدا کو چھوڑ کر پکارتے ہو ذرا مجھے بھی دکھلاؤ کہ انہوں نے زمین میں کیا پیدا کیا ہے یا ان کی آسمان میں کیا شرکت ہے۔ پھر اگر تم سچے ہو تو اس سے پہلے کی کوئی کتاب یا علم کا کوئی بقیہ ہمارے سامنے پیش کرو۔

And who is in greater error than he who calls besides Allah upon those that will not answer him till the day of resurrection and they are heedless of their call?

اور اس سے زیادہ گمراہ کون ہے جو خدا کو چھوڑ کر ان کو پکارتا ہے جو قیامت تک اس کی آواز کا جواب نہیں دے سکتے ہیں اور ان کی آواز کی طرف سے غافل بھی ہیں۔

And when men are gathered together they shall be their enemies, and shall be deniers of their worshipping (them).

اور جب سارے لوگ قیامت میں محشور ہوں گے تو یہ معبود ان کے دشمن ہو جائیں گے اور ان کی عبادت کا انکار کرنے لگیں گے۔

And when Our clear communications are recited to them, those who disbelieve say with regard to the truth when it comes to them: This is clear magic.

اور جب ان کے سامنے ہماری روشن آیات کی تلاوت کی جاتی ہے تو یہ کفار حق کے آنے کے بعد اس کے بارے میں یہی کہتے ہیں کہ یہ کھلا ہوا جادو ہے۔

Nay! they say: He has forged it. Say: If I have forged it, you do not control anything for me from Allah; He knows best what you utter concerning it; He is enough as a witness between me and you, and He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.

تو کیا یہ لوگ یہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول نے افترا کیا ہے تو آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ اگر میں نے افترا کیا ہے تو تم میرے کام آنے والے نہیں ہو اور خدا خوب جانتا ہے کہ تم اس کے بارے میں کیا کیا باتیں کرتے ہو اور میرے اور تمہارے درمیان گواہی کے لئے وہی کافی ہے اور وہی بہت بخشنے والا اور مہربان ہے۔

Say: I am not the first of the apostles, and I do not know what will be done with me or with you: I do not follow anything but that which is revealed to me, and I am nothing but a plain warner.

آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ میں کوئی نئے قسم کا رسول نہیں ہوں اور مجھے نہیں معلوم کہ میرے اور تمہارے ساتھ کیا برتاؤ کیا جائے گا میں تو صرف وحی الہٰی کا اتباع کرتا ہوں اور صرف واضح طور پر عذابِ الٰہی سے ڈرانے والا ہوں۔

Say: Have you considered if it is from Allah, and you disbelieve in it, and a witness from among the children of Israel has borne witness of one like it, so he believed, while you are big with pride; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.

کہہ دیجئے کہ تمہارا کیا خیال ہے اگر یہ قرآن اللہ کی طرف سے ہے اور تم نے اس کا انکار کر دیا جب کہ بنی اسرائیل کا ایک گواہ ایسی ہی بات کی گواہی دے چکا ہے اور وہ ایمان بھی لایا ہے اور پھر بھی تم نے غرور سے کام لیا ہے بےشک اللہ ظالمین کی ہدایت کرنے والا نہیں ہے۔

And those who disbelieve say concerning those who believe: If it had been a good, they would not have gone ahead of us therein. And as they do not seek to be rightly directed thereby, they say: It is an old lie.

اور یہ کفار ایمان والوں سے کہتے ہیں کہ اگر یہ دین بہتر ہوتا تو یہ لوگ ہم سے آگے اس کی طرف نہ دوڑ پڑتے اور جب ان لوگوں نے خود ہدایت نہیں حاصل کی تو اب کہتے ہیں کہ یہ بہت پرانا جھوٹ ہے۔

And before it the Book of Musa was a guide and a mercy: and this is a Book verifying (it) in the Arabic language that it may warn those who are unjust and as good news for the doers of good.

اور اس سے پہلے موسٰیؑ کی کتاب تھی جو رہنما اور رحمت تھی اور یہ کتاب عربی زبان میں سب کی تصدیق کرنے والی ہے تاکہ ظلم کرنے والوں کو عذابِ الہٰی سے ڈرائے اور یہ نیک کرداروں کے لئے مجسمئہ بشارت ہے۔

Surely those who say, Our Lord is Allah, then they continue on the right way, they shall have no fear nor shall they grieve.

بےشک جن لوگوں نے اللہ کو اپنا رب کہا اور اسی پر جمے رہے ان کے لئے نہ کوئی خوف ہے اور نہ وہ رنجیدہ ہونے والے ہیں۔

These are the dwellers of the garden, abiding therein: a reward for what they did.

یہی لوگ در حقیقت جنّت والے ہیں اور اسی میں ہمیشہ رہنے والے ہیں کہ یہی ان کے اعمال کی حقیقی جزا ہے۔

And We have enjoined on man doing of good to his parents; with trouble did his mother bear him and with trouble did she bring him forth; and the bearing of him and the weaning of him was thirty months; until when he attains his maturity and reaches forty years, he says: My Lord! grant me that I may give thanks for Thy favor which Thou hast bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may do good which pleases Thee and do good to me in respect of my offspring; surely I turn to Thee, and surely I am of those who submit.

اور ہم نے انسان کو اس کے ماں باپ کے ساتھ نیک برتاؤ کرنے کی نصیحت کی کہ اس کی ماں نے بڑے رنج کے ساتھ اسے شکم میں رکھا ہے اور پھر بڑی تکلیف کے ساتھ پیدا کیا ہے اور اس کے حمل اور دودھ بڑھائی کا کل زمانہ تیس مہینے کا ہے یہاں تک کہ جب وہ توانائی کو پہنچ گیا اور چالیس برس کا ہو گیا تو اس نے دعا کی کہ پروردگار مجھے توفیق دے کہ میں تیری اس نعمت کا شکریہ ادا کروں جو تو نے مجھے اور میرے والدین کو عطا کی ہے اور ایسا نیک عمل کروں کہ تو راضی ہو جائے اور میری ذریت میں بھی صلاح و تقویٰ قرار دے کہ میں تیری ہی طرف متوجہ ہوں اور تیرے فرمانبردار بندوں میں ہوں۔

These are they from whom We accept the best of what they have done and pass over their evil deeds, among the dwellers of the garden; the promise of truth which they were promised.

یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جن کے بہترین اعمال کو ہم قبول کرتے ہیں اور ان کی برائیوں سے درگزر کرتے ہیں یہ اصحابِ جنّت میں ہیں اور یہ خدا کا وہ وعدہ ہے جو ان سے برابر کیا جا رہا تھا۔

And he who says to his parents: Fie on you! do you threaten me that I shall be brought forth when generations have already passed away before me? And they both call for Allah’s aid: Woe to you! believe, surely the promise of Allah is true. But he says: This is nothing but stories of the ancients.

اور جس نے اپنے ماں باپ سے یہ کہا کہ تمہارے لئے حیف ہے کہ تم مجھے اس بات سے ڈراتے ہو کہ میں دوبارہ قبر سے نکالا جاؤں گا حالانکہ مجھ سے پہلے بہت سی قومیں گزر چکی ہیں اور وہ دونوں فریاد کر رہے تھے کہ یہ بڑی افسوس ناک بات ہے بیٹا ایمان لے آ، خدا کا وعدہ بالکل سچا ہے تو کہنے لگا کہ یہ سب پرانے لوگوں کے افسانے ہیں۔

These are they against whom the word has proved true among nations of the jinn and the men that have already passed away before them; surely they are losers.

یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جن پر عذاب ثابت ہو چکا ہے ان اُمّتوں میں جو انسان و جنّات میں ان سے پہلے گزر چکی ہیں کہ بےشک یہ سب گھاٹے میں رہنے والے ہیں۔

And for all are degrees according to what they did, and that He may pay them back fully their deeds and they shall not be wronged.

اور ہر ایک کے لئے اس کے اعمال کے مطابق درجات ہوں گے اور یہ اس لئے کہ خدا ان کے اعمال کا پورا پورا بدلہ دے دے اور ان پر کسی طرح کا ظلم نہیں کیا جائے گا۔

And on the day when those who disbelieve shall be brought before the fire: You did away with your good things in your life of the world and you enjoyed them for a while, so today you shall be rewarded with the punishment of abasement because you were unjustly proud in the land and because you transgressed.

اور جس دن کفار کو جہنّم کے سامنے پیش کیا جائے گا کہ تم نے اپنے سارے مزے دنیا ہی کی زندگی میں لے لئے اور وہاں آرام کر لیا تو آج ذلّت کے عذاب کی سزا دی جائے گی کہ تم روئے زمین میں بلا وجہ اکڑ رہے تھے اور اپنے پروردگار کے احکام کی نافرمانی کر رہے تھے۔

And mention the brother of Ad; when he warned his people in the sandy plains,- and indeed warners came before him and after him- saying: Serve none but Allah; surely I fear for you the punishment of a grievous day.

اور قوم عاد کے بھائی ہود کو یاد کیجئے کہ انہوں نے اپنی قوم کو احقاف میں ڈرایا، اور ان کے قبل و بعد بہت سے پیغمبر گزر چکے ہیں، کہ خبردار اللہ کے علاوہ کسی کی عبادت نہ کرو میں تمہارے بارے میں ایک بڑے سخت دن کے عذاب سے خوف زدہ ہوں۔

They said: Have you come to us to turn us away from our gods; then bring us what you threaten us with, if you are of the truthful ones.

ان لوگوں نے کہا کہ کیا تم اسی لئے آئے ہو کہ ہمیں ہمارے خداؤں سے منحرف کر دو تو اس عذاب کو لے آؤ جس سے ہمیں ڈرا رہے ہو اگر اپنی بات میں سچے ہو۔

He said: The knowledge is only with Allah, and I deliver to you the message with which I am sent, but I see you are a people who are ignorant.

انہوں نے کہا کہ علم تو بس خدا کے پاس ہے اور میں اسی کے پیغام کو پہنچا دیتا ہوں جو میرے حوالے کیا گیا ہے لیکن میں تمہیں بہرحال جاہل قوم سمجھ رہا ہوں۔

So when they saw it as a cloud appearing in the sky advancing towards their valleys, they said: This is a cloud which will give us rain. Nay! it is what you sought to hasten on, a blast of wind in which is a painful punishment

اس کے بعد جب ان لوگوں نے بادل کو دیکھا کہ ان کی وادیوں کی طرف چلا آرہا ہے تو کہنے لگے کہ یہ بادل ہمارے اوپر برسنے والا ہے، حالانکہ یہ وہی عذاب ہے جس کی تمہیں جلدی تھی یہ وہی ہوا ہے جس کے اندر درد ناک عذاب ہے۔

Destroying everything by the command of its Lord, so they became such that naught could be seen except their dwellings. Thus do We reward the guilty people.

یہ حکمِ خدا سے ہر شے کو تباہ و برباد کر دے گی، نتیجہ یہ ہوا کہ سوائے مکانات کے کچھ نہ نظر آیا اور ہم اسی طرح مجرم قوم کو سزا دیا کرتے ہیں۔

And certainly We had established them in what We have not established you in, and We had given them ears and eyes and hearts, but neither their ears, nor their eyes, nor their hearts availed them aught, since they denied the communications of Allah, and that which they mocked encompassed them.

اور یقینًا ہم نے ان کو وہ اختیارات دیئے تھے جو تم کو نہیں دیئے ہیں اور ان کے لئے کان، آنکھ، دل سب قرار دیئے تھے لیکن نہ انہیں کانوں نے کوئی فائدہ پہنچایا اور نہ آنکھوں اور دلوں نے کہ وہ آیاتِ الٰہی کا انکار کرنے والے افراد تھے اور انہیں عذاب نے گھیر لیا جس کا وہ مذاق اڑایا کرتے تھے۔

And certainly We destroyed the towns which are around you, and We repeat the communications that they might turn.

اور یقینًا ہم نے تمہارے گرد بہت سی بستیوں کو تباہ کر دیا ہے اور اپنی نشانیوں کو پلٹ پلٹ کر دکھلایا ہے کہ شاید یہ حق کی طرف واپس آجائیں۔

Why did not then those help them whom they took for gods besides Allah to draw (them) nigh (to Him)? Nay! they were lost to them; and this was their lie and what they forged.

تو وہ لوگ ان کے کام کیوں نہیں آئے جن کو انہوں نے خدا کو چھوڑ کر وسیلہ تقرب کے طور پر خدا بنا لیا تھا بلکہ وہ تو غائب ہی ہو گئے اور یہ ان لوگوں کا وہ جھوٹ اور افترا ہے جو وہ برابر تیار کیا کرتے تھے۔

And when We turned towards you a party of the jinn who listened to the Quran; so when they came to it, they said: Be silent; then when it was finished, they turned back to their people warning (them).

اور جب ہم نے جنّات میں سے ایک گروہ کو آپ کی طرف متوجہ کیا کہ قرآن سنیں تو جب وہ حاضر ہوئے تو آپس میں کہنے لگے کہ خاموشی سے سنو پھر جب تلاوت تمام ہو گئی تو فورًا پلٹ کر اپنی قوم کی طرف ڈرانے والے بن کر آگئے۔

They said: O our people! we have listened to a Book revealed after Musa verifying that which is before it, guiding to the truth and to a right path:

کہنے لگے کہ اے قوم والو ہم نے ایک کتاب کو سُنا ہے جو موسٰیؑ کے بعد نازل ہوئی ہے یہ اپنے پہلے والی کتابوں کی تصدیق کرنے والی ہے اور حق و انصاف اور سیدھے راستہ کی طرف ہدایت کرنے والی ہے۔

O our people! accept the Divine caller and believe in Him, He will forgive you of your faults and protect you from a painful punishment.

قوم والو اللہ کی طرف دعوت دینے والے کی آواز پر لبیک کہو اور اس پر ایمان لے آؤ تاکہ اللہ تمہارے گناہوں کو بخش دے اور تمہیں درد ناک عذاب سے پناہ دے دے۔

And whoever does not accept the Divine caller, he shall not escape in the earth and he shall not have guardians besides Him, these are in manifest error.

اور جو بھی داعی الٰہی کی آواز پر لبیک نہیں کہے گا وہ روئے زمین پر خدا کو عاجز نہیں کر سکتا ہے اور اس کے لئے خدا کے علاوہ کوئی سرپرست بھی نہیں ہے بےشک یہ لوگ کھلی ہوئی گمراہی میں مبتلا ہیں۔

Have they not considered that Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth and was not tired by their creation, is able to give life to the dead? Aye! He has surely power over all things.

کیا انہوں نے نہیں دیکھا کہ جس خدا نے آسمان و زمین کو پیدا کیا ہے اور وہ ان کی تخلیق سے عاجز نہیں تھا وہ اس بات پر بھی قادر ہے کہ مردوں کو زندہ کر دے کہ یقینًا وہ ہر شے پر قدرت رکھنے والا ہے۔

And on the day when those who disbelieve shall be brought before the fire: Is it not true? They shall say: Aye! by our Lord! He will say: Then taste the punishment, because you disbelieved.

اور جس دن یہ کفاّر جہنّم کے سامنے پیش کئے جائیں گے کہ کیا یہ حق نہیں ہے تو سب کہیں گے کہ بےشک پروردگار کی قسم یہ سب حق ہے تو ارشاد ہو گا کہ اب عذاب کا مزہ چکھو کہ تم پہلے اس کا انکار کر رہے تھے۔

Therefore bear up patiently as did the apostles endowed with constancy bear up with patience and do not seek to hasten for them (their doom). On the day that they shall see what they are promised they shall be as if they had not tarried save an hour of the day. A sufficient exposition! Shall then any be destroyed save the transgressing people?

پیغمبر آپ اسی طرح صبر کریں جس طرح پہلے کے صاحبانِ عزم رسولوں نے صبر کیا ہے اور عذاب کے لئے جلدی نہ کریں یہ لوگ جس دن بھی اس عذاب کو دیکھیں گے جس سے ڈرایا جا رہا ہے تو ایسا محسوس کریں گے جیسے دنیا میں ایک دن کی ایک گھڑی ہی ٹھہرے ہیں یہ قرآن اتمامِ حجت ہے اور کیا فاسقوں کے علاوہ کسی اور قوم کو ہلاک کیا جائے گا۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

(As for) those who disbelieve and turn away from Allah’s way, He shall render their works ineffective.

جن لوگوں نے کفر کیا اور لوگوں کو راہِ خدا سے روکا خدا نے ان کے اعمال کو برباد کر دیا۔

And (as for) those who believe and do good, and believe in what has been revealed to Muhammad, and it is the very truth from their Lord, He will remove their evil from them and improve their condition.

اور جن لوگوں نے ایمان اختیار کیا اور نیک اعمال کئے اور جو کچھ محمد پر نازل کیا گیا ہے اور پروردگار کی طرف سے برحق بھی ہے اس پر ایمان لے آئے تو خدا نے ان کی برائیوں کو دور کر دیا اور ان کے حالات کی اصلاح کر دی۔

That is because those who disbelieve follow falsehood, and those who believe follow the truth from their Lord; thus does Allah set forth to men their examples.

یہ اس لئے کہ کفار نے باطل کا اتباع کیا ہے اور صاحبانِ ایمان نے اپنے پروردگار کی طرف سے آنے والے حق کا اتباع کیا ہے اور خدا اسی طرح لوگوں کے لئے مثالیں بیان کرتا ہے۔

So when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make (them) prisoners, and afterwards either set them free as a favor or let them ransom (themselves) until the war terminates. That (shall be so); and if Allah had pleased He would certainly have exacted what is due from them, but that He may try some of you by means of others; and (as for) those who are slain in the way of Allah, He will by no means allow their deeds to perish.

پس جب کفار سے مقابلہ ہو تو ان کی گردنیں اڑا دو یہاں تک کہ جب زخموں سے چور ہو جائیں تو ان کی مشکیں باندھ لو پھر اس کے بعد چاہے احسان کر کے چھوڑ دیا جائے یا فدیہ لے لیا جائے یہاں تک کہ جنگ اپنے ہتھیار رکھ دے۔ یہ یاد رکھنا اور اگر خدا چاہتا تو خود ہی ان سے بدلہ لے لیتا لیکن وہ ایک کو دوسرے کے ذریعہ آزمانا چاہتا ہے اور جو لوگ اس کی راہ میں قتل ہوئے وہ ان کے اعمال کو ضائع نہیں کر سکتا ہے۔

He will guide them and improve their condition.

وہ عنقریب انہیں منزل تک پہنچا دے گا اور ان کی حالت سنوار دے گا۔

And cause them to enter the garden which He has made known to them.

وہ انہیں اس جنّت میں داخل کرے گا جو انہیں پہلے سے پہچنوا چکا ہے۔

O you who believe! if you help (the cause of) Allah, He will help you and make firm your feet.

ایمان والو اگر تم اللہ کی مدد کرو گے تو اللہ بھی تمہاری مدد کرے گا اور تمہیں ثابت قدم بنا دے گا۔

And (as for) those who disbelieve, for them is destruction and He has made their deeds ineffective.

اور جن لوگوں نے کفر اختیار کیا ان کے واسطے ڈگمگاہٹ ہے اور ان کے اعمال برباد ہیں۔

That is because they hated what Allah revealed, so He rendered their deeds .

یہ اس لئے کہ انہوں نے خدا کے نازل کئے ہوئے احکام کو برا سمجھا تو خدا نے بھی ان کے اعمال کو ضائع کر دیا۔

Have they not then journeyed in the land and seen how was the end of those before them: Allah brought down destruction upon them, and the unbelievers shall have the like of it.

تو کیا ان لوگوں نے زمین میں سیر نہیں کی ہے کہ دیکھتے کہ ان سے پہلے والوں کا کیا انجام ہوا ہے بےشک اللہ نے انہیں تباہ و برباد کر دیا ہے اور کفاّر کے لئے بالکل ایسی ہی سزا مقرر ہے۔

That is because Allah is the Protector of those who believe, and because the unbelievers shall have no protector for them.

یہ سب اس لئے ہے کہ اللہ صاحبانِ ایمان کا مولا اور سرپرست ہے اور کافروں کا کوئی پرسانِ حال نہیں ہے۔

Surely Allah will make those who believe and do good enter gardens beneath which rivers flow; and those who disbelieve enjoy themselves and eat as the beasts eat, and the fire is their abode.

بےشک جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور انہوں نے نیک اعمال انجام دیئے خدا انہیں ایسے باغات میں داخل کرے گا جن کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہوں گی اور جن لوگوں نے کفر اختیار کیا وہ مزے کر رہے ہیں اور اسی طرح کھا رہے ہیں جس طرح جانور کھاتے ہیں اور ان کا آخری ٹھکانا جہنّم ہی ہے۔

And how many a town which was far more powerful than the town of yours which has driven you out: We destroyed them so there was no helper for them.

اور کتنی ہی بستیاں تھیں جو تمہاری اس بستی سے کہیں زیادہ طاقتور تھیں جس نے تمہیں نکال دیا ہے جب ہم نے انہیں ہلاک کر دیا تو کوئی مدد کرنے والا بھی نہ پیدا ہوا۔

What! is he who has a clear argument from his Lord like him to whom the evil of his work is made fairseeming: and they follow their low desires.

تو کیا جس کے پاس پروردگار کی طرف سے کھلی ہوئی دلیل موجود ہے وہ اس کے مثل ہو سکتا ہے جس کے لئے اس کے بدترین اعمال سنوار دیئے گئے ہیں اور پھر ان لوگوں نے اپنی خواہشات کا اتباع کر لیا ہے۔

A parable of the garden which those guarding (against evil) are promised: Therein are rivers of water that does not alter, and rivers of milk the taste whereof does not change, and rivers of drink delicious to those who drink, and rivers of honey clarified and for them therein are all fruits and protection from their Lord. (Are these) like those who abide in the fire and who are made to drink boiling water so it rends their bowels asunder.

اس جنّت کی صفت جس کا صاحبانِ تقویٰ سے وعدہ کیا گیا ہے یہ ہے کہ اس میں ایسے پانی کی نہریں ہیں جس میں کسی طرح کی بو نہیں ہے اور کچھ نہریں دودھ کی بھی ہیں جن کا مزہ بدلتا ہی نہیں ہے اور کچھ نہریں شراب کی بھی ہیں جن میں پینے والوں کے لئے لذّت ہے اور کچھ نہریں صاف و شفاف شہد کی ہیں اور ان کے لئے ہر طرح کے میوے بھی ہیں اور پروردگار کی طرف سے مغفرت بھی ہے تو کیا یہ متقی افراد ان کے جیسے ہو سکتے ہیں جو ہمیشہ جہنّم میں رہنے والے ہیں اور جنہیں گرما گرم پانی پلایا جائے گا جس سے آنتیں ٹکڑے ٹکڑے ہو جائیں گی۔

And there are those of them who seek to listen to you, until when they go forth from you, they say to those who have been given the knowledge: What was it that he said just now? These are they upon whose hearts Allah has set a seal and they follow their low desires.

اور ان میں سے کچھ افراد ایسے بھی ہیں جو آپ کی باتیں بظاہر غور سے سنتے ہیں اس کے بعد جب آپ کے پاس سے باہر نکلتے ہیں تو جن لوگوں کو علم دیا گیا ہے ان سے کہتے ہیں کہ انہوں نے ابھی کیا کہا تھا یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جن کے دلوں پر خدا نے مہر لگا دی ہے اور انہوں نے اپنی خواہشات کا اتباع کر لیا ہے۔

And (as for) those who follow the right direction, He increases them in guidance and gives them their guarding (against evil).

اور جن لوگوں نے ہدایت حاصل کر لی خدا نے ان کی ہدایت میں اضافہ کر دیا اور ان کو مزید تقویٰ عنایت فرما دیا۔

Do they then wait for aught but the hour that it should come to them all of a sudden? Now indeed the tokens of it have (already) come, but how shall they have their reminder when it comes on them?

پھر کیا یہ لوگ قیامت کا انتظار کر رہے ہیں کہ وہ اچانک ان کے پاس آجائے جب کہ اس کی علامتیں ظاہر ہو گئی ہیں تو اگر وہ آبھی گئی تو یہ کیا نصیحت حاصل کریں گے۔

So know that there is no god but Allah, and ask protection for your fault and for the believing men and the believing women; and Allah knows the place of your returning and the place of your abiding.

تو یہ سمجھ لو کہ اللہ کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے اور اپنے اور ایماندار مردوں اور عورتوں کے لئے استغفار کرتے رہو کہ اللہ تمہارے چلنے پھرنے اور ٹھہرنے سے خوب باخبر ہے۔

And those who believe say: Why has not a chapter been revealed? But when a decisive chapter is revealed, and fighting is mentioned therein you see those in whose hearts is a disease look to you with the look of one fainting because of death. Woe to them then!

اور جو لوگ ایمان لے آئے ہیں وہ یہ کہتے ہیں کہ آخر جہاد کے بارے میں سورہ کیوں نہیں نازل ہوتا اور جب سورہ نازل ہو گیا اور اس میں جہاد کا ذکر کر دیا گیا تو آپ نے دیکھا کہ جن کے دلوں میں مرض تھا وہ آپ کی طرف اس طرح دیکھتے رہ گئے جیسے موت کی سی غشی طاری ہو گئی ہو تو ان کے واسطے ویل اور افسوس ہے۔

Obedience and a gentle word (was proper); but when the affair becomes settled, then if they remain true to Allah it would certainly be better for them.

ان کے حق میں بہترین بات اطاعت اور نیک گفتگو ہے پھر جب جنگ کا معاملہ طے ہو جائے تو اگر خدا سے اپنے کئے وعدہ پر قائم رہیں تو ان کے حق میں بہت بہتر ہے۔

But if you held command, you were sure to make mischief in the land and cut off the ties of kinship!

تو کیا تم سے کچھ بعید ہے کہ تم صاحبِ اقتدار بن جاؤ تو زمین میں فساد برپا کرو اور قرابتداروں سے قطع تعلقات کر لو۔

Those it is whom Allah has cursed so He has made them deaf and blinded their eyes.

یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جن پر خدا نے لعنت کی ہے اور ان کے کانوں کو بہرا کر دیا ہے اور ان کی آنکھوں کو اندھا بنا دیا ہے۔

Do they not then reflect on the Quran? Nay, on the hearts there are locks.

تو کیا یہ لوگ قرآن میں ذرا بھی غور نہیں کرتے ہیں یا ان کے دلوں پر قفل پڑے ہوئے ہیں۔

Surely (as for) those who return on their backs after that guidance has become manifest to them, the Shaitan has made it a light matter to them; and He gives them respite.

بےشک جو لوگ ہدایت کے واضح ہو جانے کے بعد الٹے پاؤں پلٹ گئے شیطان نے ان کی خواہشات کو آراستہ کر دیا ہے اور انہیں خوب ڈھیل دے دی ہے۔

That is because they say to those who hate what Allah has revealed: We will obey you in some of the affairs; and Allah knows their secrets.

یہ اس لئے کہ ان لوگوں نے خدا کی نازل کی ہوئی باتوں کو ناپسند کرنے والوں سے یہ کہا کہ ہم بعض مسائل میں تمہاری ہی اطاعت کریں گے اور اللہ ان کی راز کی باتوں سے خوب باخبر ہے۔

But how will it be when the angels cause them to die smiting their backs.

پھر اس وقت کیا ہو گا جب ملائکہ انہیں دنیا سے اٹھائیں گے اور ان کے چہروں اور پشت پر مسلسل مارتے جائیں گے۔

That is because they follow what is displeasing to Allah and are averse to His pleasure, therefore He has made their deeds.

یہ اس لئے کہ انہوں نے ان باتوں کا اتباع کیا ہے جو خدا کو ناراض کرنے والی ہیں اور اس کی مرضی کو ناپسند کیا ہے تو خدا نے بھی ان کے اعمال کو برباد کر کے رکھ دیا ہے۔

Or do those in whose hearts is a disease think that Allah will not bring forth their spite?

کیا جن لوگوں کے دلوں میں بیماری پائی جاتی ہے ان کا خیال یہ ہے کہ خدا ان کے دلوں کے کینوں کو باہر نہیں لائے گا۔

And if We please We would have made you know them so that you would certainly have recognized them by their marks and most certainly you can recognize them by the intent of (their) speech; and Allah knows your deeds.

اور ہم چاہتے تو انہیں دکھلا دیتے اور آپ چہرہ کے آثار ہی سے پہچان لیتے اور ان کی گفتگو کے انداز سے تو بہرحال پہچان ہی لیں گے اور اللہ تم سب کے اعمال سے خوب باخبر ہے۔

And most certainly We will try you until We have known those among you who exert themselves hard, and the patient, and made your case manifest.

اور ہم یقینًا تم سب کا امتحان لیں گے تاکہ یہ دیکھیں کہ تم میں جہاد کرنے والے اور صبر کرنے والے کون لوگ ہیں اور اس طرح تمہارے حالات کو باقاعدہ جانچ لیں۔

Surely those who disbelieve and turn away from Allah’s way and oppose the Apostle after that guidance has become clear to them cannot harm Allah in any way, and He will make their deeds.

بےشک جن لوگوں نے کفر اختیار کر لیا اور لوگوں کو خدا کی راہ سے روکا اور ہدایت کے واضح ہو جانے کے بعد بھی پیغمبر سے جھگڑا کیا وہ اللہ کو کوئی نقصان نہیں پہنچا سکتے ہیں اور اللہ عنقریب ان کے اعمال کو بالکل برباد کر دے گا۔

O you who believe! obey Allah and obey the Apostle, and do not make your deeds of no effect.

ایمان والو اللہ کی اطاعت کرو اور رسول کی اطاعت کرو اور خبردار اپنے اعمال کو برباد نہ کرو۔

Surely those who disbelieve and turn away from Allah’s way, then they die while they are unbelievers, Allah will by no means forgive them.

بےشک جن لوگوں نے کفر اختیار کیا اور خدا کی راہ میں رکاوٹ ڈالی اور پھر حالت کفر ہی میں مر گئے تو خدا انہیں ہرگز معاف نہیں کرے گا۔

And be not slack so as to cry for peace and you have the upper hand, and Allah is with you, and He will not bring your deeds to naught.

لہٰذا تم ہمت نہ ہارو اور دشمن کو صلح کی دعوت نہ دو اور تم سربلند ہو اور اللہ تمہارے ساتھ ہے اور وہ ہرگز تمہارے اعمال کے ثواب کو کم نہیں کرے گا۔

The life of this world is only idle sport and play, and if you believe and guard (against evil) He will give you your rewards, and will not ask of you your possessions.

یہ زندگانی دنیا تو صرف ایک کھیل تماشہ ہے اور اگر تم نے ایمان اور تقویٰ اختیار کر لیا تو خدا تمہیں مکمل اجر عطا کرے گا اور تم سے تمہارا مال طلب نہیں کرے گا۔

If He should ask you for it and urge you, you will be miserly, and He will bring forth your malice.

وہ اگر طلب بھی کرے اور اصرار بھی کرے تو تم بخل ہی کرو گے اور خدا تمہارے کینوں کو خود ہی ظاہر کر دے گا۔

Behold! you are those who are called upon to spend in Allah’s way, but among you are those who are miserly, and whoever is miserly is miserly against his own soul; and Allah is Self-sufficient and you have need (of Him), and if you turn back He will bring in your place another people, then they will not be like you.

ہاں ہاں تم وہی لوگ ہو جنہیں راہ خدا میں خرچ کرنے کے لئے بلایا جاتا ہے تو تم میں سے بعض لوگ بخل کرنے لگتے ہیں اور جو لوگ بخل کرتے ہیں وہ اپنے ہی حق میں بخل کرتے ہیں اور خدا سب سے بے نیاز ہے تم ہی سب اس کے فقیر اور محتاج ہو اور اگر تم منہ پھیر لو گے تو وہ تمہارے بدلے دوسری قوم کو لے آئے گا جو اس کے بعد تم جیسے نہ ہوں گے۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Surely We have given to you a clear victory

بےشک ہم نے آپ کو کھلی ہوئی فتح عطا کی ہے۔

That Allah may forgive your community their past faults and those to follow and complete His favor to you and keep you on a right way

تاکہ خدا آپ کے اگلے پچھلے تمام الزامات کو ختم کر دے اور آپ پر اپنی نعمت کو تمام کر دے اور آپ کو سیدھے راستہ کی ہدایت دے دے۔

And that Allah might help you with a mighty help.

اور زبردست طریقہ سے آپ کی مدد کرے۔

He it is Who sent down tranquillity into the hearts of the believers that they might have more of faith added to their faith- and Allah’s are the hosts of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is Knowing, Wise-

وہی خدا ہے جس نے مومنین کے دلوں میں سکون نازل کیا ہے تاکہ ان کے ایمان میں مزید اضافہ ہو جائے اور اللہ ہی کے لئے زمین و آسمان کے سارے لشکر ہیں اور وہی تمام باتوں کا جاننے والا اور صاحبِ حکمت ہے۔

That He may cause the believing men and the believing women to enter gardens beneath which rivers flow to abide therein and remove from them their evil; and that is a grand achievement with Allah;

تاکہ مومن مرد اور مومنہ عورتوں کو ان جنتوں میں داخل کر دے جن کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہیں وہ ان ہی میں ہمیشہ رہیں اور ان کی برائیوں کو ان سے دور کر دے اور یہی اللہ کے نزدیک عظیم ترین کامیابی ہے۔

And (that) He may punish the hypocritical men and the hypocritical women, and the polytheistic men and the polytheistic women, the entertainers of evil thoughts about Allah. On them is the evil turn, and Allah is wroth with them and has cursed them and prepared hell for them, and evil is the resort.

اور منافق مرد، منافق عورتیں اور مشرک مرد و عورت جو خدا کے بارے میں برے برے خیالات رکھتے ہیں ان سب پر عذاب نازل کرے ان کے سر عذاب کی گردش ہے اور ان پر اللہ کا غضب ہے خدا نے ان پر لعنت کی ہے اور ان کے لئے جہنّم کو مہیاّ کیا ہے جو بدترین انجام ہے۔

And Allah’s are the hosts of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is Mighty, Wise.

اور اللہ ہی کے لئے زمین و آسمان کے سارے لشکر ہیں اور وہ صاحبِ عزّت بھی ہے اور صاحبِ حکمت بھی ہے۔

Surely We have sent you as a witness and as a bearer of good news and as a warner

پیغمبر ہم نے آپ کو گواہی دینے والا بشارت دینے والا اور عذابِ الٰہی سے ڈرانے والا بنا کر بھیجا ہے۔

That you may believe in Allah and His Apostle and may aid him and revere him; and (that) you may declare His glory, morning and evening.

تاکہ تم سب اللہ اور اس کے رسول پر ایمان لے آؤ اور اس کی مدد کرو اور اس کا احترام کرو اور صبح و شام اللہ کی تسبیح کرتے رہو۔

Surely those who swear allegiance to you do but swear allegiance to Allah; the hand of Allah is above their hands. Therefore whoever breaks (his faith), he breaks it only to the injury of his own soul, and whoever fulfills what he has covenanted with Allah, He will grant him a mighty reward.

بےشک جو لوگ آپ کی بیعت کرتے ہیں وہ در حقیقت اللہ کی بیعت کرتے ہیں اور ان کے ہاتھوں کے اوپر اللہ ہی کا ہاتھ ہے اب اس کے بعد جو بیعت کو توڑ دیتا ہے وہ اپنے ہی خلاف اقدام کرتا ہے اور جو عہدِ الہٰی کو پورا کرتا ہے خدا عنقریب اسی کو اجر عظیم عطا کرے گا۔

Those of the dwellers of the desert who were left behind will say to you: Our property and our families kept us busy, so ask forgiveness for us. They say with their tongues what is not in their hearts. Say: Then who can control anything for you from Allah if He intends to do you harm or if He intends to do you good; nay, Allah is Aware of what you do:

عنقریب یہ پیچھے رہ جانے والے گنوار آپ سے کہیں گے کہ ہمارے اموال اور اولاد نے مصروف کر لیا تھا لہٰذا آپ ہمارے حق میں استغفار کر دیں، یہ اپنی زبان سے وہ کہہ رہے ہیں جو یقینًا ان کے دل میں نہیں ہے تو آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ اگر خدا تمہیں نقصان پہنچانا چاہے یا فائدہ ہی پہنچانا چاہے تو کون ہے جو اس کے مقابلہ میں تمہارے امور کا اختیار رکھتا ہے، حقیقت یہ ہے کہ اللہ تمہارے اعمال سے خوب باخبر ہے۔

Nay! you rather thought that the Apostle and the believers would not return to their families ever, and that was made fairseeming to your hearts and you thought an evil thought and you were a people doomed to perish.

اصل میں تمہارا خیال یہ تھا کہ رسول اور صاحبانِ ایمان اب اپنے گھر والوں تک پلٹ کر نہیں آسکتے ہیں اور اس بات کو تمہارے دلوں میں خوب سجا دیا گیا تھا اور تم نے بد گمانی سے کام لیا اور تم ہلاک ہو جانے والی قوم ہو۔

And whoever does not believe in Allah and His Apostle, then surely We have prepared burning fire for the unbelievers.

اور جو بھی خدا و رسول پر ایمان نہ لائے گا ہم نے ایسے کافرین کے لئے جہنّم کا انتظام کر رکھا ہے۔

And Allah’s is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; He forgives whom He pleases and punishes whom He pleases, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

اور اللہ ہی کے لئے زمین و آسمان کا ملک ہے وہ جس کو چاہتا ہے بخش دیتا ہے اور جس پر چاہتا ہے عذاب کرتا ہے اور اللہ بہت بخشنے والا مہربان ہے۔

Those who are left behind will say when you set forth for the gaining of acquisitions: Allow us (that) we may follow you. They desire to change the word of Allah. Say: By no means shall you follow us; thus did Allah say before. But they will say: Nay! you are jealous of us. Nay! they do not understand but a little.

عنقریب یہ پیچھے رہ جانے والے تم سے کہیں گے جب تم مالِ غنیمت لینے کے لئے جانے لگو گے کہ اجازت دو ہم بھی تمہارے ساتھ چلے چلیں یہ چاہتے ہیں کہ اللہ کے کلام کو تبدیل کر دیں تو تم کہہ دو کہ تم لوگ ہمارے ساتھ نہیں آسکتے ہو اللہ نے یہ بات پہلے سے طے کر دی ہے پھر یہ کہیں گے کہ تم لوگ ہم سے حسد رکھتے ہو حالانکہ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ یہ لوگ بات کو بہت کم سمجھ پاتے ہیں۔

Say to those of the dwellers of the desert who were left behind: You shall soon be invited (to fight) against a people possessing mighty prowess; you will fight against them until they submit; then if you obey, Allah will grant you a good reward; and if you turn back as you turned back before, He will punish you with a painful punishment.

آپ ان پیچھے رہ جانے والوں سے کہہ دیں کہ عنقریب تمہیں ایک ایسی قوم کی طرف بلایا جائے گا جو انتہائی سخت جنگجو قوم ہو گی کہ تم ان سے جنگ ہی کرتے رہو گے یا وہ مسلمان ہو جائیں گے تو اگر تم خدا کی اطاعت کرو گے تو وہ تمہیں بہترین اجر عنایت کرے گا اور اگر پھر منہ پھیر لو گے جس طرح پہلے کیا تھا تو تمہیں درد ناک عذاب کے ذریعہ سزا دے گا۔

There is no harm in the blind, nor is there any harm in the lame, nor is there any harm in the sick (if they do not go forth); and whoever obeys Allah and His Apostle, He will cause him to enter gardens beneath which rivers flow, and whoever turns back, He will punish him with a painful punishment.

اندھے آدمی کے لئے کوئی گناہ نہیں ہے اور لنگڑے آدمی کے لئے بھی کوئی گناہ نہیں ہے اور مریض کی بھی کوئی ذمہ داری نہیں ہے اور جو اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی اطاعت کرے گا خدا اس کو ایسی جنتوں میں داخل کرے گا جن کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہوں گی اور جو روگردانی کرے گا وہ اسے درد ناک عذاب کی سزا دے گا۔

Certainly Allah was well pleased with the believers when they swore allegiance to you under the tree, and He knew what was in their hearts, so He sent down tranquillity on them and rewarded them with a near victory

یقینًا خدا صاحبانِ ایمان سے اس وقت راضی ہو گیا جب وہ درخت کے نیچے آپ کی بیعت کر رہے تھے پھر اس نے وہ سب کچھ دیکھ لیا جو ان کے دلوں میں تھا تو ان پر سکون نازل کر دیا اور انہیں اس کے عوض قریبی فتح عنایت کر دی۔

And many acquisitions which they will take; and Allah is Mighty, Wise.

اور بہت سے منافع بھی دے دیئے جنہیں وہ حاصل کریں گے اور اللہ ہر ایک پر غالب آنے والا اور صاحبِ حکمت ہے۔

Allah promised you many acquisitions which you will take, then He hastened on this one for you and held back the hands of men from you, and that it may be a sign for the believers and that He may guide you on a right path.

اس نے تم سے بہت سے فوائد کا وعدہ کیا ہے جنہیں تم حاصل کرو گے پھر اس غنیمتِ خیبر کو فورًا عطا کر دیا اور لوگوں کے ہاتھوں کو تم سے روک دیا اور تاکہ یہ صاحبانِ ایمان کے لئے ایک قدرت کی نشانی بنے اور وہ تمہیں سیدھے راستہ کی ہدایت دے دے۔

And others which you have not yet been able to achieve Allah has surely encompassed them, and Allah has power over all things.

اور دوسری غنیمتیں جن پر تم قادر نہیں ہو سکے خدا ان پر بھی حاوی ہے اور خدا تو ہر شے پر قدرت رکھنے والا ہے۔

And if those who disbelieve fight with you, they would certainly turn (their) backs, then they would not find any protector or a helper.

اور اگر یہ کفاّر تم سے جنگ کرتے تو یقینًا منہ پھیر کر بھاگ جاتے اور پھر انہیں کوئی سرپرست اور مدد گار نصیب نہ ہوتا۔

Such has been the course of Allah that has indeed run before, and you shall not find a change in Allah’s course.

یہ اللہ کی ایک سنّت ہے جو پہلے بھی گزر چکی ہے اور تم اللہ کے طریقہ میں ہرگز کوئی تبدیلی نہیں پاؤ گے۔

And He it is Who held back their hands from you and your hands from them in the valley of Mecca after He had given you victory over them; and Allah is Seeing what you do.

وہی خدا ہے جس نے کفاّر کے ہاتھوں کو تم سے اور تمہارے ہاتھوں کو ان سے سرحدِ مکہ کے اندر تمہارے فتح پا جانے کے بعد بھی روک دیا اور اللہ تمہارے اعمال سے خوب باخبر ہے۔

It is they who disbelieved and turned you away from the Sacred Mosque and (turned off) the offering withheld from arriving at its destined place; and were it not for the believing men and the believing women, whom, not having known, you might have trodden down, and thus something hateful might have afflicted you on their account without knowledge- so that Allah may cause to enter into His mercy whomsoever He pleases; had they been widely separated one from another, We would surely have punished those who disbelieved from among them with a painful punishment.

یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جنہوں نے کفر اختیار کیا اور تم کو مسجد الحرام میں داخل ہونے سے روک دیا اور قربانی کے جانوروں کو روک دیا کہ وہ اپنی منزل پر پہنچنے سے رکے رہے اور اگر صاحبِ ایمان مرد اور باایمان عورتیں نہ ہوتیں جن کو تم نہیں جانتے تھے اور نادانستگی میں انہیں بھی پامال کر ڈالنے کا خطرہ تھا اور اس طرح تمہیں لاعلمی کی وجہ سے نقصان پہنچ جاتا تو تمہیں روکا بھی نہ جاتا۔ روکا اس لئے تاکہ خدا جسے چاہے اسے اپنی رحمت میں داخل کر لے کہ یہ لوگ الگ ہو جاتے تو ہم کفّار کو درد ناک عذاب میں مبتلا کر دیتے۔

When those who disbelieved harbored in their hearts (feelings of) disdain, the disdain of (the days of) ignorance, but Allah sent down His tranquillity on His Apostle and on the believers, and made them keep the word of guarding (against evil), and they were entitled to it and worthy of it; and Allah is Cognizant of all things.

یہ اس وقت کی بات ہے جب کفار نے اپنے دلوں میں زمانہ جاہلیت جیسی ضد قرار دے لی تھی کہ تم کو مکہ میں داخل نہ ہونے دیں گے تو اللہ نے اپنے رسول اور صاحبانِ ایمان پر سکون نازل کر دیا اور انہیں کلمہ تقویٰ پر قائم رکھا اور وہ اسی کے حقدار اور اہل بھی تھے اور اللہ تو ہر شے کا جاننے والا ہے۔

Certainly Allah had shown to His Apostle the vision with truth: you shall most certainly enter the Sacred Mosque, if Allah pleases, in security, (some) having their heads shaved and (others) having their hair cut, you shall not fear, but He knows what you do not know, so He brought about a near victory before that.

بےشک خدا نے اپنے رسول کو بالکل سچا خواب دکھلایا تھا کہ خدا نے چاہا تو تم لوگ مسجد الحرام میں امن و سکون کے ساتھ سر کے بال منڈا کر اور تھوڑے سے بال کاٹ کر داخل ہو گے اور تمہیں کسی طرح کا خوف نہ ہو گا تو اسے وہ بھی معلوم تھا جو تمہیں نہیں معلوم تھا تو اس نے فتح مکّہ سے پہلے ایک قریبی فتح قرار دے دی۔

He it is Who sent His Apostle with the guidance and the true religion that He may make it prevail over all the religions; and Allah is enough for a witness.

وہی وہ خدا ہے جس نے اپنے رسول کو ہدایت اور دینِ حق کے ساتھ بھیجا تاکہ اسے تمام ادیان عالم پر غالب بنائے اور گواہی کے لئے بس خدا ہی کافی ہے۔

Muhammad is the Apostle of Allah, and those with him are firm of heart against the unbelievers, compassionate among themselves; you will see them bowing down, prostrating themselves, seeking grace from Allah and pleasure; their marks are in their faces because of the effect of prostration; that is their description in the Taurat and their description in the Injeel; like as seed-produce that puts forth its sprout, then strengthens it, so it becomes stout and stands firmly on its stem, delighting the sowers that He may enrage the unbelievers on account of them; Allah has promised those among them who believe and do good, forgiveness and a great reward.

محمد(ص) اللہ کے رسول ہیں اور جو لوگ ان کے ساتھ ہیں وہ کفار کے لئے سخت ترین اور آپس میں انتہائی رحمدل ہیں تم انہیں دیکھوگے کہ بارگاہِ احدیّت میں سر خم کئے ہوئے سجدہ ریز ہیں اور اپنے پروردگار سے فضل و کرم اور اس کی خوشنودی کے طلب گار ہیں، کثرتِ سجود کی بنا پر ان کے چہروں پر سجدہ کے نشانات پائے جاتے ہیں یہی ان کی مثال توریت میں ہے اور یہی ان کی صفت انجیل میں ہے جیسے کوئی کھیتی ہو جو پہلے سوئی نکالے پھر اسے مضبوط بنائے پھر وہ موٹی ہو جائے اور پھر اپنے پیروں پر کھڑی ہو جائے کہ کاشتکاروں کو خوش کرنے لگے تاکہ ان کے ذریعہ کفار کو جلایا جائے اور اللہ نے صاحبانِ ایمان و عملِ صالح سے مغفرت اور عظیم اجر کا وعدہ کیا ہے۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

O you who believe! be not forward in the presence of Allah and His Apostle, and be careful of (your duty to) Allah; surely Allah is Hearing, Knowing.

ایمان والو خبردار خدا و رسول کے سامنے اپنی بات کو آگے نہ بڑھاؤ اور اللہ سے ڈرو بےشک اللہ ہر بات کا سننے والا اور جاننے والا ہے۔

O you who believe! do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, and do not speak loud to him as you speak loud to one another, lest your deeds became while you do not perceive.

ایمان والو خبردار اپنی آواز کو نبی کی آواز پر بلند نہ کرنا اور ان سے اس طرح بلند آواز میں بات بھی نہ کرنا جس طرح آپس میں ایک دوسرے کو پکارتے ہو کہیں ایسا نہ ہو کہ تمہارے اعمال برباد ہو جائیں اور تمہیں اس کا شعور بھی نہ ہو۔

Surely those who lower their voices before Allah’s Apostle are they whose hearts Allah has proved for guarding (against evil); they shall have forgiveness and a great reward.

بےشک جو لوگ رسول اللہ کے سامنے اپنی آواز کو دھیما رکھتے ہیں یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جن کے دلوں کو خدا نے تقویٰ کے لئے آزما لیا ہے اور ان ہی کے لئے مغفرت اور اجرِ عظیم ہے۔

(As for) those who call out to you from behind the private chambers, surely most of them do not understand.

بےشک جو لوگ آپ کو حجروں کے پیچھے سے پکارتے ہیں ان کی اکثریت کچھ نہیں سمجھتی ہے۔

And if they wait patiently until you come out to them, it would certainly be better for them, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

اور اگر یہ اتنا صبر کر لیتے کہ آپ نکل کر باہر آجاتے تو یہ ان کے حق میں زیادہ بہتر ہوتا اور اللہ بہت بخشنے والا اور مہربان ہے۔

O you who believe! if an evil-doer comes to you with a report, look carefully into it, lest you harm a people in ignorance, then be sorry for what you have done.

ایمان والو اگر کوئی فاسق کوئی خبر لے کر آئے تو اس کی تحقیق کرو ایسا نہ ہو کہ کسی قوم تک ناواقفیت میں پہنچ جاؤ اور اس کے بعد اپنے اقدام پر شرمندہ ہونا پڑے۔

And know that among you is Allah’s Apostle; should he obey you in many a matter, you would surely fall into distress, but Allah has endeared the faith to you and has made it seemly in your hearts, and He has made hateful to you unbelief and transgression and disobedience; these it is that are the followers of a right way.

اور یاد رکھو کہ تمہارے درمیان خدا کا رسول موجود ہے یہ اگر بہت سی باتوں میں تمہاری بات مان لیتا تو تم زحمت میں پڑ جاتے لیکن خدا نے تمہارے لئے ایمان کو محبوب بنا دیا ہے اور اسے تمہارے دلوں میں آراستہ کر دیا ہے اور کفر، فسق اور معصیت کو تمہارے لئے ناپسندیدہ قرار دے دیا ہے اور در حقیقت یہی لوگ ہدایت یافتہ ہیں۔

By grace from Allah and as a favor; and Allah is Knowing, Wise.

یہ اللہ کا فضل اور اس کی نعمت ہے اور اللہ سب کچھ جاننے والا بھی ہے اور صاحبِ حکمت بھی ہے۔

And if two parties of the believers quarrel, make peace between them; but if one of them acts wrongfully towards the other, fight that which acts wrongfully until it returns to Allah’s command; then if it returns, make peace between them with justice and act equitably; surely Allah loves those who act equitably.

اور اگر مومنین کے دو گروہ آپس میں جھگڑا کریں تو تم سب ان کے درمیان صلح کراؤ اس کے بعد اگر ایک دوسرے پر ظلم کرے تو سب مل کر اس سے جنگ کرو جو زیادتی کرنے والا گروہ ہے یہاں تک کہ وہ بھی حکمِ خدا کی طرف واپس آجائے پھر اگر پلٹ آئے تو عدل کے ساتھ اصلاح کر دو اور انصاف سے کام لو کہ خدا انصاف کرنے والوں کو دوست رکھتا ہے۔

The believers are but brethren, therefore make peace between your brethren and be careful of (your duty to) Allah that mercy may be had on you.

مومنین آپس میں بالکل بھائی بھائی ہیں لہٰذا اپنے بھائیوں کے درمیان اصلاح کرو اور اللہ سے ڈرتے رہو کہ شاید تم پر رحم کیا جائے۔

O you who believe! let not (one) people laugh at (another) people perchance they may be better than they, nor let women (laugh) at (other) women, perchance they may be better than they; and do not find fault with your own people nor call one another by nicknames; evil is a bad name after faith, and whoever does not turn, these it is that are the unjust.

ایمان والو خبردار کوئی قوم دوسری قوم کا مذاق نہ اڑائے کہ شاید وہ اس سے بہتر ہو اور عورتوں کی بھی کوئی جماعت دوسری جماعت کا مسخرہ نہ کرے کہ شاید وہی عورتیں ان سے بہتر ہوں اور آپس میں ایک دوسرے کو طعنے بھی نہ دینا اور برے برے القاب سے یاد بھی نہ کرنا کہ ایمان کے بعد بدکاری کا نام ہی بہت بُرا ہے اور جو شخص بھی توبہ نہ کرے تو سمجھو کہ یہی لوگ در حقیقت ظالمین ہیں۔

O you who believe! avoid most of suspicion, for surely suspicion in some cases is a sin, and do not spy nor let some of you backbite others. Does one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? But you abhor it; and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, surely Allah is Oft-returning (to mercy), Merciful.

ایمان والو اکثر گمانوں سے اجتناب کرو کہ بعض گمان گناہ کا درجہ رکھتے ہیں اور خبردار ایک دوسرے کے عیب تلاش نہ کرو اور ایک دوسرے کی غیبت بھی نہ کرو کہ کیا تم میں سے کوئی اس بات کو پسند کرے گا کہ اپنے مردہ بھائی کا گوشت کھائے یقینًا تم اسے بُرا سمجھو گے تو اللہ سے ڈرو کہ بےشک اللہ بہت بڑا توبہ کا قبول کرنے والا اور مہربان ہے۔

O you men! surely We have created you of a male and a female, and made you tribes and families that you may know each other; surely the most honorable of you with Allah is the one among you most careful (of his duty); surely Allah is Knowing, Aware.

انسانو ہم نے تم کو ایک مرد اور ایک عورت سے پیدا کیا ہے اور پھر تم میں شاخیں اور قبیلے قرار دیئے ہیں تاکہ آپس میں ایک دوسرے کو پہچان سکو بےشک تم میں سے خدا کے نزدیک زیادہ محترم وہی ہے جو زیادہ پرہیز گار ہے اور اللہ ہر شے کا جاننے والا اور ہر بات سے باخبر ہے۔

The dwellers of the desert say: We believe. Say: You do not believe but say, We submit; and faith has not yet entered into your hearts; and if you obey Allah and His Apostle, He will not diminish aught of your deeds; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

یہ بدو عرب کہتے ہیں کہ ہم ایمان لے آئے ہیں تو آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ تم ایمان نہیں لائے بلکہ یہ کہو کہ اسلام لائے ہیں کہ ابھی ایمان تمہارے دلوں میں داخل نہیں ہوا ہے اور اگر تم اللہ اور رسول کی اطاعت کرو گے تو وہ تمہارے اعمال میں سے کچھ بھی کم نہیں کرے گا کہ وہ بڑا غفور اور رحیم ہے۔

The believers are only those who believe in Allah and His Apostle then they doubt not and struggle hard with their wealth and their lives in the way of Allah; they are the truthful ones.

صاحبانِ ایمان صرف وہ لوگ ہیں جو اللہ اور اس کے رسول پر ایمان لے آئے اور پھر کبھی شک نہیں کیا اور اس کی راہ میں اپنے مال اور اپنی جان سے جہاد بھی کیا در حقیقت یہی لوگ اپنے دعویٰ ایمان میں سچّے ہیں۔

Say: Do you apprise Allah of your religion, and Allah knows what is in the heavens and what is in the earth; and Allah is Cognizant of all things.

آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ کیا تم خدا کو اپنا دین سکھا رہے ہو جب کہ وہ آسمان اور زمین کی ہر شے سے باخبر ہے اور وہ کائنات کی ہر چیز کا جاننے والا ہے۔

They think that they lay you under an obligation by becoming Muslims. Say: Lay me not under obligation by your Islam: rather Allah lays you under an obligation by guiding you to the faith if you are truthful.

یہ لوگ آپ پر احسان جتاتے ہیں کہ اسلام لے آئے ہیں تو آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ ہمارے اوپر اپنے اسلام کا احسان نہ رکھو یہ خدا کا احسان ہے کہ اس نے تم کو ایمان لانے کی ہدایت دے دی ہے اگر تم واقعًا دعوائے ایمان میں سچے ہو۔

Surely Allah knows the unseen things of the heavens and the earth; and Allah sees what you do.

بےشک اللہ آسمان و زمین کے ہر غیب کا جاننے والا اور وہ تمہارے تمام اعمال کا بھی دیکھنے والا ہے۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Qaf. I swear by the glorious Quran (that Muhammad is the Apostle of Allah).

قۤ۔ قرآن مجید کی قسم۔

Nay! they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, so the unbelievers say: This is a wonderful thing:

لیکن ان کفاّر کو تعجب ہے کہ ان ہی میں سے کوئی شخص پیغمبر بن کر آگیا اس لئے ان کا کہنا یہ ہے کہ یہ بات بالکل عجیب ہے۔

What! when we are dead and have become dust? That is a far (from probable) return.

کیا جب ہم مر کر خاک ہو جائیں گے تو دوبارہ واپس ہوں گے یہ بڑی بعید بات ہے۔

We know indeed what the earth diminishes of them, and with Us is a writing that preserves.

ہم جانتے ہیں کہ زمین ان کے جسموں میں سے کس قدر کم کر دیتی ہے اور ہمارے پاس ایک محفوظ کتاب موجود ہے۔

Nay, they rejected the truth when it came to them, so they are (now) in a state of confusion.

حقیقت یہ ہے کہ ان لوگوں نے حق کے آنے کے بعد اس کا انکار کر دیا ہے تو وہ ایک بے چینی کی بات میں مبتلا ہیں۔

Do they not then look up to heaven above them how We have made it and adorned it and it has no gaps?

کیا ان لوگوں نے اپنے اوپر آسمان کی طرف نہیں دیکھا ہے کہ ہم نے اسے کس طرح بنایا ہے اور پھر آراستہ بھی کر دیا ہے اور اس میں کہیں شگاف بھی نہیں ہے۔

And the earth, We have made it plain and cast in it mountains and We have made to grow therein of all beautiful kinds

اور زمین کو فرش کر دیا ہے اور اس میں پہاڑ ڈال دیئے ہیں اور ہر طرح کی خوبصورت چیزیں اُگا دی ہیں۔

To give sight and as a reminder to every servant who turns frequently (to Allah).

یہ خدا کی طرف رجوع کرنے والے ہر بندہ کے لئے سامانِ نصیحت اور وجہ بصیرت ہے۔

And We send down from the cloud water abounding in good, then We cause to grow thereby gardens and the grain that is reaped

اور ہم نے آسمان سے بابرکت پانی نازل کیا ہے پھر اس سے باغات اور کھیتی کا غلہ اُگایا ہے۔

And the tall palm-trees having spadices closely set one above another

اور لمبی لمبی کھجوریں اُگائی ہیں جن کے بور آپس میں گتھے ہوئے ہیں۔

A sustenance for the servants, and We give life thereby to a dead land; thus is the rising.

یہ سب ہمارے بندوں کے لئے رزق کا سامان ہے اور ہم نے اسی پانی سے مردہ زمینوں کو زندہ کیا ہے اور اسی طرح تمہیں بھی زمین سے نکالیں گے۔

(Others) before them rejected (prophets): the people of Nuh and the dwellers of Ar-Rass and Samood

ان سے پہلے قومِ نوحؑ، اصحابِ رس اور ثمود نے بھی تکذیب کی تھی۔

And Ad and Firon and Lut’s brethren

اور قومِ عاد، فرعون اور برادرانِ لوط نے بھی۔

And the dwellers of the grove and the people of Tuba; all rejected the apostles, so My threat came to pass.

اور اصحاب ایکہ اور قوم تبع نے بھی اور ان سب نے رسولوں کی تکذیب کی تو ہمارا وعدہ پورا ہو گیا۔

Were We then fatigued with the first creation? Yet are they in doubt with regard to a new creation.

تو کیا ہم پہلی خلقت سے عاجز تھے ہرگز نہیں۔ تو پھر حقیقت یہ ہے کہ یہ لوگ نئی خلقت کی طرف سے شبہ میں پڑے ہوئے ہیں۔

And certainly We created man, and We know what his mind suggests to him, and We are nearer to him than his life-vein.

اور ہم نے ہی انسان کو پیدا کیا ہے اور ہمیں معلوم ہے کہ اس کا نفس کیا کیا وسوسے پیدا کرتا ہے اور ہم اس سے رگِ گردن سے زیادہ قریب ہیں۔

When the two receivers receive, sitting on the right and on the left.

جب کہ دو لکھنے والے اس کی حرکتوں کو لکھ لیتے ہیں جو داہنے اور بائیں بیٹھے ہوئے ہیں۔

He utters not a word but there is by him a watcher at hand.

وہ کوئی بات منہ سے نہیں نکالتا ہے مگر یہ کہ ایک نگہبان اس کے پاس موجود رہتا ہے۔

And the stupor of death will come in truth; that is what you were trying to escape.

اور موت کی بیہوشی یقینًا طاری ہو گی کہ یہی وہ بات ہے جس سے تو بھاگا کرتا تھا۔

And the trumpet shall be blown; that is the day of the threatening.

اور پھر صور پھونکا جائے گا کہ یہ عذاب کے وعدہ کا دن ہے۔

And every soul shall come, with it a driver and a witness.

اور ہر نفس کو اس انداز سے آنا ہو گا کہ اس کے ساتھ ہنکانے والے اور گواہی دینے والے فرشتے بھی ہوں گے۔

Certainly you were heedless of it, but now We have removed from you your veil, so your sight today is sharp.

یقینًا تم اس کی طرف سے غفلت میں تھے تو ہم نے تمہارے پردوں کو اُٹھا دیا ہے اور اب تمہاری نگاہ بہت تیز ہو گئی ہے۔

And his companions shall say: This is what is ready with me.

اور اس کا ساتھی فرشتہ کہے گا کہ یہ اس کا عمل میرے پاس تیار موجود ہے۔

Do cast into hell every ungrateful, rebellious one

حکم ہو گا کہ تم دونوں ہر ناشکرے سرکش کو جہنّم میں ڈال دو۔

Forbidder of good, exceeder of limits, doubter

جو خیر سے روکنے والا حد سے تجاوز کرنے والا اور شبہات پیدا کرنے والا تھا۔

Who sets up another god with Allah, so do cast him into severe chastisement.

جس نے اللہ کے ساتھ دوسرے خدا بنا دیئے تھے تم دونوں اس کو شدید عذاب میں ڈال دو۔

His companion will say: Our Lord! I did not lead him into inordinacy but he himself was in a great error.

پھر اس کا ساتھی شیطان کہے گا کہ خدایا میں نے اس کو گمراہ نہیں کیا ہے یہ خود ہی گمراہی میں بہت دور تک چلا گیا تھا۔

He will say: Do not quarrel in My presence, and indeed I gave you the threatening beforehand:

ارشاد ہو گا کہ میرے پاس جھگڑا مت کرو میں پہلے ہی عذاب کی خبر دے چکا ہوں۔

My word shall not be changed, nor am I in the least unjust to the servants.

میرے پاس بات میں تبدیلی نہیں ہوتی ہے اور نہ میں بندوں پر ظلم کرنے والا ہوں۔

On the day that We will say to hell: Are you filled up? And it will say: Are there anymore?

جس دن ہم جہنّم سے کہیں گے کہ تو بھر گیا تو وہ کہے گا کہ کیا کچھ اور مل سکتا ہے۔

And the garden shall be brought near to those who guard (against evil), not far off:

اور جنّت کو صاحبانِ تقویٰ سے قریب تر کر دیا جائے گا۔

This is what you were promised, (it is) for everyone who turns frequently (to Allah), keeps (His limits);

یہ وہ جگہ ہے جس کا وعدہ ہر خدا کی طرف رجوع کرنے والے اور نفس کی حفاظت کرنے والے سے کیا جاتا ہے۔

Who fears the Beneficent God in secret and comes with a penitent heart:

جو شخص بھی رحمان سے از غیب ڈرتا ہے اور اس کی بارگاہ میں رجوع کرنے والے دل کے ساتھ حاضر ہوتا ہے۔

Enter it in peace, that is the day of abiding.

تم سب سلامتی کے ساتھ جنّت میں داخل ہو جاؤ کہ یہ ہمیشگی کا دن ہے۔

They have therein what they wish and with Us is more yet.

وہاں ان کے لئے جو کچھ بھی چاہیں گے سب حاضر رہے گا اور ہمارے پاس مزید بھی ہے۔

And how many a generation did We destroy before them who were mightier in prowess than they, so they went about and about in the lands. Is there a place of refuge?

اور ان سے پہلے ہم نے کتنی ہی قوموں کو ہلاک کر دیا ہے جو ان سے کہیں زیادہ طاقتور تھیں تو انہوں نے تمام شہروں کو چھان مارا تھا لیکن موت سے چھٹکارا کہاں ہے۔

Most surely there is a reminder in this for him who has a heart or he gives ear and is a witness.

اس واقعہ میں نصیحت کا سامان موجود ہے اس انسان کے لئے جس کے پاس دل ہو یا جو حضورِ قلب کے ساتھ بات سنتا ہو۔

And certainly We created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six periods and there touched Us not any fatigue.

اور ہم نے آسمان و زمین اور ان کے درمیان کی مخلوقات کو چھ دن میں پیدا کیا ہے اور ہمیں اس سلسلہ میں کوئی تھکن چھو بھی نہیں سکی ہے۔

Therefore be patient of what they say, and sing the praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before the setting.

لہٰذا آپ ان کی باتوں پر صبر کریں اور طلوعِ آفتاب سے پہلے اور غروب آفتاب سے پہلے اپنے رب کی تسبیح کیا کریں۔

And glorify Him in the night and after the prayers.

اور رات کے ایک حصّہ میں بھی اس کی تسبیح کریں اور سجدوں کے بعد بھی اس کی تسبیح کیا کریں۔

And listen on the day when the crier shall cry from a near place.

اور اس دن کو غور سے سنو جس دن قدرت کا منادی اسرافیل قریب ہی کی جگہ سے آواز دے گا۔

The day when they shall hear the cry in truth; that is the day of coming forth.

جس دن صدائے آسمان کو سب بخوبی سن لیں گے اور وہی دن قبروں سے نکلنے کا دن ہے۔

Surely We give life and cause to die, and to Us is the eventual coming;

بےشک ہم ہی موت و حیات دینے والے ہیں اور ہماری ہی طرف سب کی بازگشت ہے۔

The day on which the earth shall cleave asunder under them, they will make haste; that is a gathering together easy to Us.

اسی دن زمین ان لوگوں کی طرف سے شق ہو جائے گی اور یہ تیزی سے نکل کھڑے ہوں گے کہ یہ حشر ہمارے لئے بہت آسان ہے۔

We know best what they say, and you are not one to compel them; therefore remind him by means of the Quran who fears My threat.

ہمیں خوب معلوم ہے کہ یہ لوگ کیا کر رہے ہیں اور آپ ان پر جبر کرنے والے نہیں ہیں آپ قرآن کے ذریعہ ان لوگوں کو نصیحت کرتے رہیں جو عذاب سے ڈرنے والے ہیں۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide

ان ہواؤں کی قسم جو بادلوں کو منتشر کرنے والی ہیں۔

Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space).

پھر بادل کا بوجھ اٹھانے والی ہیں۔

Then those (ships) that glide easily

پھر دھیرے دھیرے چلنے والی ہیں۔

Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command;

پھر ایک امر کی تقسیم کرنے والی ہیں۔

What you are threatened with is most surely true

تم سے جس بات کا وعدہ کیا گیا ہے وہ سچی ہے۔

And the judgment must most surely come about.

اور جزا و سزا بہرحال واقع ہونے والی ہے۔

I swear by the heaven full of ways.

اور مختلف راستوں والے آسمان کی قسم۔

Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say

کہ تم لوگ مختلف باتوں میں پڑے ہوئے ہو۔

He is turned away from it who would be turned away.

حق سے وہی گمراہ کیا جا سکتا ہے جو بہکایا جا چکا ہے۔

Cursed be the liars

بےشک اٹکل پچو (اندازا) لگانے والے مارے جائیں گے۔

Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful;

جو اپنی غفلت میں بھولے پڑے ہوئے ہیں۔

They ask: When is the day of judgment?

یہ پوچھتے ہیں کہ آخر قیامت کا دن کب آئے گا۔

(It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire.

تو یہ وہی دن ہے جس دن انہیں جہنّم کی آگ پر تپایا جائے گا۔

Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on.

کہ اب اپنا عذاب چکھو اور یہی وہ عذاب ہے جس کی تم جلدی مچائے ہوئے تھے۔

Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains.

بےشک متّقی افراد باغات اور چشموں کے درمیان ہوں گے۔

Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good.

جو کچھ ان کا پروردگار عطا کرنے والا ہے اسے وصول کر رہے ہوں گے کہ یہ لوگ پہلے سے نیک کردار تھے۔

They used to sleep but little in the night.

یہ رات کے وقت بہت کم سوتے تھے۔

And in the morning they asked forgiveness.

اور سحر کے وقت اللہ کی بارگاہ میں استغفار کیا کرتے تھے۔

And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good).

اور ان کے اموال میں مانگنے والے اور نہ مانگنے والے محروم افراد کے لئے ایک حق تھا۔

And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure

اور زمین میں یقین کرنے والوں کے لئے بہت سی نشانیاں پائی جاتی ہیں۔

And in your own souls (too); will you not then see?

اور خود تمہارے اندر بھی، کیا تم نہیں دیکھ رہے ہو۔

And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with.

اور آسمان میں تمہارا رزق ہے اور جن باتوں کا تم سے وعدہ کیا گیا ہے سب کچھ موجود ہے۔

And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak.

آسمان و زمین کے مالک کی قسم یہ قرآن بالکل برحق ہے جس طرح تم خود باتیں کر رہے ہو۔

Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim?

کیا تمہارے پاس ابراہیمؑ کے محترم مہمانوں کا ذکر پہنچا ہے۔

When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people.

جب وہ ان کے پاس وارد ہوئے اور سلام کیا تو ابراہیمؑ نے جواب سلام دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ تم تو انجانی قوم معلوم ہوتے ہو۔

Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf

پھر اپنے گھر جا کر ایک موٹا تازہ بچھڑا تیار کر کے لے آئے۔

So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat?

پھر ان کی طرف بڑھا دیا اور کہا کیا آپ لوگ نہیں کھاتے ہیں۔

So he conceived in his mind a fear on account of them. They said: Fear not. And they gave him the good news of a boy possessing knowledge.

پھر اپنے نفس میں خوف کا احساس کیا تو ان لوگوں نے کہا کہ آپ ڈریں نہیں اور پھر انہیں ایک دانشمند فرزند کی بشارت دے دی۔

Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman!

یہ سن کر ان کی زوجہ شور مچاتی ہوئی آئیں اور انہوں نے منہ پیٹ لیا کہ میں بڑھیا بانجھ (یہ کیا بات ہے)۔

They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing.

ان لوگوں نے کہا یہ ایسا ہی ہو گا یہ تمہارے پروردگار کا ارشاد ہے وہ بڑی حکمت والا اور ہر چیز کا جاننے والا ہے۔

Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.

اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
