Juz 30 (Sipara)جز (سیپارہ)-۳۰

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Of what do they ask one another?

یہ لوگ آپس میں کس چیز کے بارے میں سوال کر رہے ہیں۔

About the great event

بہت بڑی خبر کے بارے میں۔

About which they differ?

جس کے بارے میں ان میں اختلاف ہے۔

Nay! they shall soon come to know.

کچھ نہیں عنقریب انہیں معلوم ہو جائے گا۔

Nay! Nay! they shall soon know.

اور خوب معلوم ہو جائے گا۔

Have We not made the earth an even expanse?

کیا ہم نے زمین کا فرش نہیں بنایا ہے۔

And the mountains as projections (thereon)?

اور پہاڑوں کی میخیں نہیں نصب کی ہیں۔

And We created you in pairs

اور ہم ہی نے تم کو جوڑا بنایا ہے۔

And We made your sleep to be rest (to you)

اور تمہاری نیند کو آرام کا سامان قرار دیا ہے۔

And We made the night to be a covering

اور رات کو پردہ پوش بنایا ہے۔

And We made the day for seeking livelihood.

اور دن کو وقتِ معاش قرار دیا ہے۔

And We made above you seven strong ones

اور تمہارے سروں پر سات مضبوط آسمان بنائے ہیں۔

And We made a shining lamp

اور ایک بھڑکتا ہوا چراغ بنایا ہے۔

And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly

اور بادلوں میں سے موسلا دھار پانی برسایا ہے۔

That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs

تاکہ اس کے ذریعہ دانے اور گھاس برآمد کریں۔

And gardens dense and luxuriant.

اور گھنے گھنے باغات پیدا کریں۔

Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed:

بےشک فیصلہ کا دن معین ہے۔

The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts

جس دن صور پھونکا جائے گا اور تم سب فوج در فوج آؤ گے۔

And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings

اور آسمان کے راستے کھول دیئے جائیں گے اور دروازے بن جائیں گے۔

And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance.

اور پہاڑوں کو جگہ سے حرکت دے دی جائے گی اور وہ ریت جیسے ہو جائیں گے۔

Surely hell lies in wait

بےشک جہنّم ان کی گھات (انتظار) میں ہے۔

A place of resort for the inordinate

وہ سرکشوں کا آخری ٹھکانا ہے۔

Living therein for ages.

اس میں وہ مدتوں رہیں گے۔

They shall not taste therein cool nor drink

نہ ٹھنڈک کا مزہ چکھ سکیں گے اور نہ کسی پینے کی چیز کا۔

But boiling and intensely cold water

علاوہ کھولتے پانی اور پیپ کے۔

Requital corresponding.

یہ ان کے اعمال کا مکمل بدلہ ہے۔

Surely they feared not the account

یہ لوگ حساب و کتاب کی امید ہی نہیں رکھتے تھے۔

And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth).

اور انہوں نے ہماری آیات کی باقاعدہ تکذیب کی ہے۔

And We have recorded everything in a book

اور ہم نے ہر شے کو اپنی کتاب میں جمع کر لیا ہے۔

So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement.

اب تم اپنے اعمال کا مزہ چکھو اور ہم عذاب کے علاوہ کوئی اضافہ نہیں کر سکتے۔

Surely for those who guard (against evil) is achievement

بےشک صاحبانِ تقویٰ کے لئے کامیابی کی منزل ہے۔

Gardens and vineyards

باغات ہیں اور انگور۔

And those showing freshness of youth, equals in age

نوخیز دوشیزائیں ہیں اور سب ہمسن۔اور چھلکتے ہوئے پیمانے۔

And a pure cup.

اور چھلکتے ہوئے پیمانے۔

They shall not hear therein any vain words nor lying.

وہاں نہ کوئی لغو بات سنیں گے نہ گناہ۔

A reward from your Lord, a gift according to a reckoning:

یہ تمہارے رب کی طرف سے حساب کی ہوئی عطا ہے اور تمہارے اعمال کی جزا۔

The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, the Beneficent God, they shall not be able to address Him.

وہ آسمان و زمین اور ان کے مابین کا پروردگار رحمٰن ہے جس کے سامنے کسی کو بات کرنے کا یارا نہیں ہے۔

The day on which the spirit and the angels shall stand in ranks; they shall not speak except he whom the Beneficent God permits and who speaks the right thing.

جس دن روح القدس اور ملائکہ صف بستہ کھڑے ہوں گے اور کوئی بات بھی نہ کر سکے گا علاوہ اس کے جسے رحمٰن اجازت دے دے اور ٹھیک ٹھیک بات کرے۔

That is the sure day, so whoever desires may take refuge with his Lord.

یہی برحق دن ہے تو جس کا جی چاہے اپنے رب کی طرف ٹھکانا بنا لے۔

Surely We have warned you of a chastisement near at hand: the day when man shall see what his two hands have sent before, and the unbeliever shall say: O! would that I were dust!

ہم نے تم کو ایک قریبی عذاب سے ڈرایا ہے جس دن انسان اپنے کئے دھرے کو دیکھے گا اور کافر کہے گا کہ اے کاش میں خاک ہو گیا ہوتا۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked

قسم ہے ان کی جو ڈوب کر کھینچ لینے والے ہیں۔

And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed

اور آسانی سے کھول دینے والے ہیں۔

And by those who float in space

اور فضا میں تیرنے والے ہیں۔

Then those who are foremost going ahead

پھر تیز رفتاری سے سبقت کرنے والے ہیں۔

Then those who regulate the affair.

پھر امور کا انتظام کرنے والے ہیں۔

The day on which the quaking one shall quake

جس دن زمین کو جھٹکا دیا جائے گا۔

What must happen afterwards shall follow it.

اور اس کے بعد دوسرا جھٹکا لگے گا۔

Hearts on that day shall palpitate

اس دن دل لرز جائیں گے۔

Their eyes cast down.

آنکھیں خوف سے جھکی ہوں گی۔

They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state?

یہ کفّار کہتے ہیں کہ کیا ہم پلٹ کر پھر اس دنیا میں بھیجے جائیں گے۔

What! when we are rotten bones?

کیا جب ہم کھوکھلی ہڈیاں ہو جائیں گے تب۔

They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss.

یہ تو بڑے گھاٹے والی واپسی ہو گی۔

But it shall be only a single cry

یہ قیامت تو بس ایک چیخ ہو گی۔

When lo! they shall be wakeful.

جس کے بعد سب میدانِ حشر میں نظر آئیں گے۔

Has not there come to you the story of Musa?

کیا تمہارے پاس موسٰیؑ کی خبر آئی ہے۔

When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice

جب ان کے رب نے انہیں طویٰ کی مقدس وادی میں آواز دی۔

Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate.

فرعون کی طرف جاؤ وہ سرکش ہو گیا ہے۔

Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself:

اس سے کہو کیا یہ ممکن ہے تو پاکیزہ کردار ہو جائے۔

And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear.

اور میں تجھے تیرے رب کی طرف ہدایت کروں اور تیرے دل میں خوف پیدا ہو جائے۔

So he showed him the mighty sign.

پھر انہوں نے اسے عظیم نشانی دکھلائی۔

But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed.

تو اس نے انکار کر دیا اور نافرمانی کی۔

Then he went back hastily.

پھر منہ پھیر کر دوڑ دھوپ میں لگ گیا۔

Then he gathered (men) and called out.

پھر سب کو جمع کیا اور آواز دی۔

Then he said: I am your lord, the most high.

اور کہا کہ میں تمہارا ربِ علیٰ ہوں۔

So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life.

تو خدا نے اسے دنیا و آخرت دونوں کے عذاب کی گرفت میں لے لیا۔

Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears.

اس واقعہ میں خوفِ خدا رکھنے والوں کے لئے عبرت کا سامان ہے۔

Are you the harder to create or the heaven? He made it.

کیا تمہاری خلقت آسمان بنانے سے زیادہ مشکل کام ہے کہ اس نے آسمان کو بنایا ہے۔

He raised high its height, then put it into a right good state.

اس کی چھت کو بلند کیا اور پھر برابر کر دیا ہے۔

And He made dark its night and brought out its light.

اس کی رات کو تاریک بنایا ہے اور دن کی روشنی نکال دی ہے۔

And the earth, He expanded it after that.

اس کے بعد زمین کا فرش بچھایا ہے۔

He brought forth from it its water and its pasturage.

اس میں سے پانی اور چارہ نکالا ہے۔

And the mountains, He made them firm

اور پہاڑوں کو گاڑ دیا ہے۔

A provision for you and for your cattle.

یہ سب تمہارے اور جانوروں کے لئے ایک سرمایہ ہے۔

But when the great predominating calamity comes;

پھر جب بڑی مصیبت آجائے گی۔

The day on which man shall recollect what he strove after

جس دن انسان یاد کرے گا کہ اس نے کیا کیا ہے۔

And the hell shall be made manifest to him who sees.

اور جہنّم کو دیکھنے والوں کے لئے نمایاں کر دیا جائے گا۔

Then as for him who is inordinate

پھر جس نے سرکشی کی ہے۔

And prefers the life of this world

اور زندگانی دنیا کو اختیار کیا ہے۔

Then surely the hell, that is the abode.

جہنّم اس کا ٹھکانا ہو گا۔

And as for him who fears to stand in the presence of his Lord and forbids the soul from low desires

اور جس نے رب کی بارگاہ میں حاضری کا خوف پیدا کیا ہے اور اپنے نفس کو خواہشات سے روکا ہے۔

Then surely the garden- that is the abode.

تو جنّت اس کا ٹھکانا اور مرکز ہے۔

They ask you about the hour, when it will come.

پیغمبر لوگ آپ سے قیامت کے بارے میں پوچھتے ہیں کہ اس کا ٹھکانا کب ہے۔

About what! You are one to remind of it.

آپ اس کی یاد کے بارے میں کس منزل پر ہیں۔

To your Lord is the goal of it.

اس کے علم کی انتہا آپ کے پروردگار کی طرف ہے۔

You are only a warner to him who would fear it.

آپ تو صرف اس کا خوف رکھنے والوں کو اس سے ڈرانے والے ہیں۔

On the day that they see it, it will be as though they had not tarried but the latter part of a day or the early part of it.

گویا جب وہ لوگ اسے دیکھیں گے تو ایسا معلوم ہو گا جیسے ایک شام یا ایک صبح دنیا میں ٹھہرے ہیں۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

He frowned and turned (his) back

اس نے منہ بسور (بنا) لیا اور پیٹھ پھیر لی۔

Because there came to him the blind man.

کہ ان کے پاس ایک نابینا آگیا۔

And what would make you know that he would purify himself

اور تمہیں کیا معلوم شاید وہ پاکیزہ نفس ہو جاتا۔

Or become reminded so that the reminder should profit him?

یا نصیحت حاصل کر لیتا تو وہ نصیحت اس کے کام آجاتی۔

As for him who considers himself free from need (of you)

لیکن جو مستغنی بن بیٹھا ہے۔

To him do you address yourself.

آپ اس کی فکر میں لگے ہوئے ہیں۔

And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself.

حالانکہ آپ پر کوئی ذمہ داری نہیں ہے اگر وہ پاکیزہ نہ بھی بنے۔

And as to him who comes to you striving hard

لیکن جو آپ کے پاس دوڑ کر آیا ہے۔

And he fears

اور وہ خوفِ خدا بھی رکھتا ہے۔

From him will you divert yourself.

آپ اس سے بے رخی کرتے ہیں۔

Nay! surely it is an admonishment.

دیکھئے یہ قرآن ایک نصیحت ہے۔

So let him who pleases mind it.

جس کا جی چاہے قبول کر لے۔

In honored books

یہ باعزّت صحیفوں میں ہے۔

Exalted, purified

جو بلند و بالا اور پاکیزہ ہے۔

In the hands of scribes.

ایسے لکھنے والوں کے ہاتھوں میں ہیں۔

Noble, virtuous.

جو محترم اور نیک کردار ہیں۔

Cursed be man! how ungrateful is he!

انسان اس بات سے مارا گیا کہ کس قدر ناشکرا ہو گیا ہے۔

Of what thing did He create him?

آخر اسے کس چیز سے پیدا کیا ہے۔

Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure

اسے نطفہ سے پیدا کیا ہے پھر اس کا اندازہ مقرر کیا ہے۔

Then (as for) the way- He has made it easy (for him)

پھر اس کے لئے راستہ کو آسان کیا ہے۔

Then He causes him to die, then assigns to him a grave

پھر اسے موت دے کر دفنا دیا۔

Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again.

پھر جب چاہا دوبارہ زندہ کر کے اُٹھا لیا۔

Nay; but he has not done what He bade him.

ہرگز نہیں اس نے حکمِ خدا کو بالکل پورا نہیں کیا ہے۔

Then let man look to his food

ذرا انسان اپنے کھانے کی طرف تو نگاہ کرے۔

That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance

بے شک ہم نے پانی برسایا ہے۔

Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder

پھر ہم نے زمین کو شگافتہ کیا ہے۔

Then We cause to grow therein the grain

پھر ہم نے اس میں سے دانے پیدا کئے ہیں۔

And grapes and clover

اور انگور اور ترکاریاں۔

And the olive and the palm

اور زیتون اور کھجور۔

And thick gardens

اور گھنے گھنے باغ۔

And fruits and herbage

اور میوے اور چارہ۔

A provision for you and for your cattle.

یہ سب تمہارے اور تمہارے جانوروں کے لئے سرمایہ حیات ہے۔

But when the deafening cry comes

پھر جب کان کے پردے پھاڑنے والی قیامت آجائے گی۔

The day on which a man shall fly from his brother

جس دن انسان اپنے بھائی سے فرار کرے گا۔

And his mother and his father

اور ماں باپ سے بھی۔

And his spouse and his son-

اور بیوی اور اولاد سے بھی۔

Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him.

اس دن ہر آدمی کی ایک خاص فکر ہو گی جو اس کے لئے کافی ہو گی۔

(Many) faces on that day shall be bright

اس دن کچھ چہرے روشن ہوں گے۔

Laughing, joyous.

مسکراتے ہوئے کھلے ہوئے۔

And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust

اور کچھ چہرے غبار آلود ہوں گے۔

Darkness shall cover them.

ان پر ذلّت چھائی ہوئی ہو گی۔

These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked.

یہی لوگ حقیقتًا کافر اور فاجر ہوں گے۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

When the sun is covered

جب چادر آفتاب کو لپیٹ دیا جائے گا۔

And when the stars darken

جب تارے گر پڑیں گے۔

And when the mountains are made to pass away

جب پہاڑ حرکت میں آجائیں گے۔

And when the camels are left untended

جب عنقریب جننے والی اونٹنیاں معطل کر دی جائیں گی۔

And when the wild animals are made to go forth

جب جانوروں کو اکٹھا کیا جائے گا۔

And when the seas are set on fire

جب دریا بھڑک اٹھیں گے۔

And when souls are united

جب روحوں کو جسموں سے جوڑ دیا جائے گا۔

And when the female infant buried alive is asked

اور جب زندہ درگور (زندہ دفنائی گئی) لڑکیوں کے بارے میں سوال کیا جائے گا۔

For what sin she was killed

کہ انہیں کس گناہ میں مارا گیا ہے۔

And when the books are spread

اور جب نامہ اعمال منتشر کر دیئے جائیں گے۔

And when the heaven has its covering removed

اور جب آسمان کا چھلکا اُتار دیا جائے گا۔

And when the hell is kindled up

اور جب جہنّم کی آگ بھڑکا دی جائے گی۔

And when the garden is brought nigh

اور جب جنّت قریب تر کر دی جائے گی۔

Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared.

تب ہر نفس کو معلوم ہو گا کہ اس نے کیا حاضر کیا ہے۔

But nay! I swear by the stars

تو میں ان ستاروں کی قسم کھاتا ہوں جو پلٹ جانے والے ہیں۔

That run their course (and) hide themselves

چلنے والے اور چُھپ جانے والے ہیں۔

And the night when it departs

اور رات کی قسم جب ختم ہونے کو آئے۔

And the morning when it brightens

اور صبح کی قسم جب سانس لینے لگے۔

Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger

بے شک یہ ایک معزز فرشتے کا بیان ہے۔

The possessor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion

وہ صاحبِ قوت ہے اور صاحبِ عرش کی بارگاہ کا مکین ہے۔

One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust.

وہ وہاں قابل اطاعت اور پھر امانت دار ہے۔

And your companion is not gone mad.

اور تمہارا ساتھی پیغمبر دیوانہ نہیں ہے۔

And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon.

اور اس نے فرشتہ کو بلند اُفق پر دیکھا ہے۔

Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer.

اور وہ غیب کے بارے میں بخیل نہیں ہے۔

Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan

اور یہ قرآن کسی شیطانِ رجیم کا قول نہیں ہے۔

Whither then will you go?

تو تم کدھر چلے جا رہے ہو۔

It is naught but a reminder for the nations

یہ صرف عالمین کے لئے ایک نصیحت کا سامان ہے۔

For him among you who pleases to go straight.

جو تم میں سے سیدھا ہونا چاہے۔

And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds.

اور تم لوگ کچھ نہیں چاہ سکتے مگر یہ کہ عالمین کا پروردگار خدا چاہے۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

When the heaven becomes cleft asunder

جب آسمان شگافتہ ہو جائے گا۔

And when the stars become dispersed

اور جب ستارے بکھر جائیں گے۔

And when the seas are made to flow forth

اور جب دریا بہہ کر ایک دوسرے سے مل جائیں گے۔

And when the graves are laid open

اور جب قبروں کو اُبھار دیا جائے گا۔

Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back.

تب ہر نفس کو معلوم ہو گا کہ کیا مقدم کیا ہے اور کیا موخر کیا ہے۔

O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one

اے انسان تجھے ربِ کریم کے بارے میں کس شے نے دھوکہ میں رکھا ہے۔

Who created you, then made you complete, then made you symmetrical?

اس نے تجھے پیدا کیا ہے اور پھر برابر کر کے متوازن بنایا ہے۔

Into whatever form He pleased He constituted you.

اس نے جس صورت میں چاہا ہے تیرے اجزا کی ترکیب کی ہے۔

Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day

مگر تم لوگ جزا کا انکار کرتے ہو۔

And most surely there are keepers over you

اور یقینًا تمہارے سروں پر نگہبان مقرر ہیں۔

Honorable recorders

جو باعزّت لکھنے والے ہیں۔

They know what you do.

وہ تمہارے اعمال کو خوب جانتے ہیں۔

Most surely the righteous are in bliss

بے شک نیک لوگ نعمتوں میں ہوں گے۔

And most surely the wicked are in burning fire

اور بدکار افراد جہنّم میں ہوں گے۔

They shall enter it on the day of judgment.

وہ روزِ جزا اسی میں جھونک دیئے جائیں گے۔

And they shall by no means be absent from it.

اور وہ اس سے بچ کر نہ جا سکیں گے۔

And what will make you realize what the day of judgement is?

اور تم کیا جانو کہ جزا کا دن کیا شے ہے۔

Again, what will make you realize what the day of judgment is?

پھر تمہیں کیا معلوم کہ جزا کا دن کیسا ہوتا ہے۔

The day on which no soul shall control anything for (another) soul; and the command on that day shall be entirely Allah’s.

اس دن کوئی کسی کے بارے میں کوئی اختیار نہ رکھتا ہو گا اور سارا اختیار اللہ کے ہاتھوں میں ہو گا۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Woe to the defrauders

ویل ہے ان کے لئے جو ناپ تول میں کمی کرنے والے ہیں۔

Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully

یہ جب لوگوں سے ناپ کر لیتے ہیں تو پورا مال لے لیتے ہیں۔

But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient.

اور جب ان کے لئے ناپتے یا تولتے ہیں تو کم کر دیتے ہیں۔

Do not these think that they shall be raised again

کیا انہیں یہ خیال نہیں ہے کہ یہ ایک روز دوبارہ اٹھائے جانے والے ہیں۔

For a mighty day

بڑے سخت دن میں۔

The day on which men shall stand before the Lord of the worlds?

جس دن سب رب العالمین کی بارگاہ میں حاضر ہوں گے۔

Nay! most surely the record of the wicked is in the Sijjin.

یاد رکھو کہ بدکاروں کا نامہ اعمال سجین میں (سختی سے) ہو گا۔

And what will make you know what the Sijjin is?

اور تم کیا جانو کہ سجین کیا ہے۔

It is a written book.

ایک لکھا ہوا دفتر ہے۔

Woe on that day to the rejecters

آج کے دن ان جھٹلانے والوں کے لئے بربادی ہے۔

Who give the lie to the day of judgment.

جو لوگ روزِ جزا کا انکار کرتے ہیں۔

And none gives the lie to it but every exceeder of limits, sinful one.

اور اس کا انکار صرف وہی کرتے ہیں جو حد سے گزر جانے والے گناہ گار ہیں۔

When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore.

جب ان کے سامنے آیات کی تلاوت کی جاتی ہے تو کہتے ہیں کہ یہ تو پرانے افسانے ہیں۔

Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust upon their hearts.

نہیں نہیں بلکہ ان کے دلوں پر ان کے اعمال کا زنگ لگ گیا ہے۔

Nay! most surely they shall on that day be debarred from their Lord.

یاد رکھو انہیں روزِ قیامت پروردگار کی رحمت سے محجوب (محروم) کر دیا جائے گا۔

Then most surely they shall enter the burning fire.

پھر اس کے بعد یہ جہنّم میں جھونکے جانے والے ہیں۔

Then shall it be said: This is what you gave the lie to.

پھر ان سے کہا جائے گا کہ یہی وہ ہے جس کا تم انکار کررہے تھے۔

Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin.

یاد رکھو کہ نیک کردار افراد کا نامہ اعمال علیین (اونچے لوگوں) میں ہو گا۔

And what will make you know what the highest Iliyin is?

اور تم کیا جانو کہ علیین کیا ہے۔

It is a written book

ایک لکھا ہوا دفتر ہے۔

Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it.

جس کے گواہ ملائکہ مقربین ہیں

Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss

بے شک نیک لوگ نعمتوں میں ہوں گے۔

On thrones, they shall gaze;

تختوں پر بیٹھے ہوئے نظارے کر رہے ہوں گے۔

You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss.

تم ان کے چہروں پر نعمت کی شادابی کا مشاہدہ کرو گے۔

They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others).

انہیں سر بمہر خالص شراب سے سیراب کیا جائے گا۔

The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire.

جس کی مہر مشک کی ہو گی اور ایسی چیزوں میں شوق کرنے والوں کو آپس میں سبقت اور رغبت کرنی چاہئے۔

And the admixture of it is a water of Tasnim

اس شراب میں تسنیم کے پانی کی آمیزش ہو گی۔

A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah).

یہ ایک چشمہ ہے جس سے مقربِ بارگاہ بندے پانی پیتے ہیں۔

Surely they who are guilty used to laugh at those who believe.

بے شک یہ مجرمین صاحبانِ ایمان کا مذاق اُڑایا کرتے تھے۔

And when they passed by them, they winked at one another.

اور جب وہ ان کے پاس سے گزرتے تھے تو اشارے کنائے کرتے تھے۔

And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting.

اور جب اپنے اہل کی طرف پلٹ کر آتے تھے تو خوش و خرم ہوتے تھے۔

And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error;

اور جب مومنین کو دیکھتے تو کہتے تھے کہ یہ سب اصلی گمراہ ہیں۔

And they were not sent to be keepers over them.

حالانکہ انہیں ان کا نگراں بنا کر نہیں بھیجا گیا تھا۔

So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers;

تو آج ایمان لانے والے بھی کفّار کا مضحکہ اُڑائیں گے۔

On thrones, they will look.

تختوں پر بیٹھے ہوئے دیکھ رہے ہوں گے۔

Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did.

اب تو کفار کو ان کے اعمال کا پورا پورا بدلہ مل رہا ہے۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

When the heaven bursts asunder

جب آسمان پھٹ جائے گا۔

And obeys its Lord and it must.

اور اپنے پروردگار کا حکم بجا لائے گا اور یہ ضروری بھی ہے۔

And when the earth is stretched

اور جب زمین برابر کر کے پھیلا دی جائے گی۔

And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty

اور وہ اپنے ذخیرے پھینک کر خالی ہو جائے گی۔

And obeys its Lord and it must.

اور اپنے پروردگار کا حکم بجا لائے گی اور یہ ضروری بھی ہے۔

O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him.

اے انسان تو اپنے پروردگار کی طرف جانے کی کوشش کر رہا ہے تو ایک دن اس کا سامنا کرے گا۔

Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand

پھر جس کو نامہ اعمال داہنے ہاتھ میں دیا جائے گا۔

He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning

اس کا حساب آسان ہو گا۔

And he shall go back to his people joyful.

اور وہ اپنے اہل کی طرف خوشی خوشی واپس آئے گا۔

And as to him who is given his book behind his back

اور جس کو نامہ اعمال پشت کی طرف سے دیا جائے گا۔

He shall call for perdition

وہ عنقریب موت کی دعا کرے گا۔

And enter into burning fire.

اور جہنّم کی آگ میں داخل ہو گا۔

Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers.

یہ پہلے اپنے اہل و عیال میں بہت خوش تھا۔

Surely he thought that he would never return.

اور اس کا خیال تھا کہ پلٹ کر خدا کی طرف نہیں جائے گا۔

Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him.

ہاں اس کا پروردگار خوب دیکھنے والا ہے۔

But nay! I swear by the sunset redness

میں شفق (مغرب کے وقت) کی قسم کھا کر کہتا ہوں۔

And the night and that which it drives on

اور رات اور جن چیزوں کو وہ ڈھانک لیتی ہے ان کی قسم۔

And the moon when it grows full

اور چاند کی قسم جب وہ پورا ہو جائے۔

That you shall most certainly enter one state after another.

کہ تم ایک مصیبت کے بعد دوسری مصیبت میں مبتلا ہو گے۔

But what is the matter with them that they do not believe

پھر انہیں کیا ہو گیا ہے کہ ایمان نہیں لے آتے ہیں۔

And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance?

اور جب ان کے سامنے قرآن پڑھا جاتا ہے تو سجدہ نہیں کرتے ہیں۔

Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth.

بلکہ کفّار تو تکذیب بھی کرتے ہیں۔

And Allah knows best what they hide

اور اللہ خوب جانتا ہے جو یہ اپنے دلوں میں چھپائے ہوئے ہیں۔

So announce to them a painful punishment.

اب آپ انہیں درد ناک عذاب کی بشارت دے دیں۔

Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off.

علاوہ صاحبانِ ایمان و عمل صالح کے کہ ان کے لئے نہ ختم ہونے والا اجر و ثواب ہے۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

I swear by the mansions of the stars

برجوں والے آسمان کی قسم۔

And the promised day

اور اس دن کی قسم جس کا وعدہ دیا گیا ہے۔

And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne.

اور گواہ اور جس کی گواہی دی جائے گی اس کی قسم۔

Cursed be the makers of the pit

اصحابِ اُخدود ( جہنّم کی خندقوں والے) ہلاک کر دیئے گئے۔

Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel

آگ سے بھری ہوئی خندقوں والے۔

When they sat by it

جن میں آگ بھرے بیٹھے ہوئے تھے۔

And they were witnesses of what they did with the believers.

اور وہ مومنین کے ساتھ جو سلوک کر رہے تھے خود ہی اس کے گواہ بھی ہیں۔

And they did not take vengeance on them for aught except that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praised

اور انہوں نے ان سے صرف اس بات کا بدلہ لیا ہے کہ وہ خدائے عزیز و حمید پر ایمان لائے تھے۔

Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness of all things.

وہ خدا جس کے اختیار میں آسمان و زمین کا سارا ملک ہے اور وہ ہر شے کا گواہ اور نگراں بھی ہے۔

Surely (as for) those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent, they shall have the chastisement of hell, and they shall have the chastisement of burning.

بے شک جن لوگوں نے ایماندار مردوں اور عورتوں کو ستایا اور پھر توبہ نہ کی ان کے لئے جہنّم کا عذاب ہے اور ان کے لئے جلنے کا عذاب بھی ہے۔

Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement.

بے شک جو لوگ ایمان لے آئے اور انہوں نے نیک اعمال کئے ان کے لئے وہ جنّتیں ہیں جن کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہوں گی اور یہ بہت بڑی کامیابی ہے۔

Surely the might of your Lord is great.

بے شک آپ کے پروردگار کی پکڑ بہت سخت ہوتی ہے۔

Surely He it is Who originates and reproduces

وہی پیدا کرنے والا اور دوبارہ ایجاد کرنے والا ہے۔

And He is the Forgiving, the Loving

وہی بہت بخشنے والا اور محبت کرنے والا ہے۔

Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious

وہ صاحب عرشِ مجید ہے۔

The great doer of what He will.

جو چاہتا ہے کر سکتا ہے۔

Has not there come to you the story of the hosts

کیا تمہارے پاس لشکروں کی خبر آئی ہے۔

Of Firon and Samood?

فرعون اور قومِ ثمود کی خبر۔

Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth.

مگر کفّار تو صرف جھٹلانے میں پڑے ہوئے ہیں۔

And Allah encompasses them on every side.

اور اللہ ان کو پیچھے سے گھیرے ہوئے ہے۔

Nay! it is a glorious Quran

یقینًا یہ بزرگ و برتر قرآن ہے۔

In a guarded tablet.

جو لوحِ محفوظ میں محفوظ کیا گیا ہے۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

I swear by the heaven and the comer by night;

آسمان اور رات کو آنے والے کی قسم۔

And what will make you know what the comer by night is?

اور تم کیا جانو کہ طارق کیا ہے۔

The star of piercing brightness;

یہ ایک چمکتا ہوا ستارہ ہے۔

There is not a soul but over it is a keeper.

کوئی نفس ایسا نہیں ہے جس کے اوپر نگراں نہ معین کیا گیا ہو۔

So let man consider of what he is created:

پھر انسان دیکھے کہ اسے کس چیز سے پیدا کیا گیا ہے۔

He is created of water pouring forth

وہ ایک اُچھلتے ہوئے پانی سے پیدا کیا گیا ہے۔

Coming from between the back and the ribs.

جو پیٹھ اور سینہ کی ہڈیوں کے درمیان سے نکلتا ہے۔

Most surely He is able to return him (to life).

یقینًا وہ خدا انسان کے دوبارہ پیدا کرنے پر بھی قادر ہے۔

On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest

جس دن رازوں کو آزمایا جائے گا۔

He shall have neither strength nor helper.

تو پھر نہ کسی کے پاس قوت ہو گی اور نہ مدد گار۔

I swear by the rain-giving heavens

قسم ہے چکر کھانے والے آسمان کی۔

And the earth splitting (with plants);

اور شگافتہ ہونے والی زمین کی۔

Most surely it is a decisive word

بے شک یہ قول فیصل ہے۔

And it is no joke.

اور مذاق نہیں ہے۔

Surely they will make a scheme

یہ لوگ اپنا مکر کر رہے ہیں۔

And I (too) will make a scheme.

اور ہم اپنی تدبیر کر رہے ہیں۔

So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while.

تو کافروں کو چھوڑ دو اور انہیں تھوڑی سی مہلت دے دو۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High

اپنے بلند ترین رب کے نام کی تسبیح کرو۔

Who creates, then makes complete

جس نے پیدا کیا ہے اور درست بنایا ہے۔

And Who makes (things) according to a measure, then guides (them to their goal)

جس نے تقدیر معین کی ہے اور پھر ہدایت دی ہے۔

And Who brings forth herbage

جس نے چارہ بنایا ہے۔

Then makes it dried up, dust-colored.

پھر اسے خشک کر کے سیاہ رنگ کا کوڑا بنا دیا ہے۔

We will make you recite so you shall not forget

ہم عنقریب تمہیں اس طرح پڑھائیں گے کہ بھول نہ سکو گے۔

Except what Allah pleases, surely He knows the manifest, and what is hidden.

مگر یہ کہ خدا ہی چاہے کہ وہ ہر ظاہر اور مخفی رہنے والی چیز کو جانتا ہے۔

And We will make your way smooth to a state of ease.

اور ہم تم کو آسان راستہ کی توفیق دیں گے۔

Therefore do remind, surely reminding does profit.

لہذا لوگوں کو سمجھاؤ اگر سمجھانے کا فائدہ ہو۔

He who fears will mind

عنقریب خوفِ خدا رکھنے والا سمجھ جائے گا۔

And the most unfortunate one will avoid it

اور بدبخت اس سے کنارہ کشی کرے گا۔

Who shall enter the great fire;

جو بہت بڑی آگ میں جلنے والا ہے۔

Then therein he shall neither live nor die.

پھر نہ اس میں زندگی ہے نہ موت۔

He indeed shall be successful who purifies himself

بے شک پاکیزہ رہنے والا کامیاب ہو گیا۔

And magnifies the name of his Lord and prays.

جس نے اپنے رب کے نام کی تسبیح کی اور پھر نماز پڑھی۔

Nay! you prefer the life of this world

لیکن تم لوگ زندگانی دنیا کو مقدم رکھتے ہو۔

While the hereafter is better and more lasting.

جب کہ آخرت بہتر اور ہمیشہ رہنے والی ہے۔

Most surely this is in the earlier scriptures

یہ بات تمام پہلے صحیفوں میں بھی موجود ہے۔

The scriptures of Ibrahim and Musa.

ابراہیمؑ کے صحیفوں میں بھی اور موسٰیؑ کے صحیفوں میں بھی۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity?

کیا تمہیں ڈھانپ لینے والی قیامت کی بات معلوم ہے۔

(Some) faces on that day shall be downcast

اس دن بہت سے چہرے ذلیل اور رسوا ہوں گے۔

Laboring, toiling

محنت کرنے والے تھکے ہوئے۔

Entering into burning fire

دہکتی ہوئی آگ میں داخل ہوں گے۔

Made to drink from a boiling spring.

انہیں کھولتے ہوئے پانی کے چشمہ سے سیراب کیا جائے گا۔

They shall have no food but of thorns

ان کے لئے کوئی کھانا سوائے خار دار جھاڑی کے نہ ہو گا۔

Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger.

جو نہ موٹائی پیدا کر سکے اور نہ بھوک کے کام آسکے۔

(Other) faces on that day shall be happy

اور کچھ چہرے تر و تازہ ہوں گے۔

Well-pleased because of their striving

اپنی محنت و ریاضت سے خوش۔

In a lofty garden

بلند ترین جنت میں۔

Wherein you shall not hear vain talk.

جہاں کوئی لغو آواز نہ سنائی دے۔

Therein is a fountain flowing

وہاں چشمے جاری ہوں گے۔

Therein are thrones raised high

وہاں اُونچے اُونچے تخت ہوں گے۔

And drinking-cups ready placed

اور اطراف میں رکھے ہوئے پیالے ہوں گے۔

And cushions set in a row

اور قطار سے لگے ہوئے گاؤ (گول) تکیے ہوں گے۔

And carpets spread out.

اور بچھی ہوئی بہترین مسندیں ہوں گی۔

Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created?

کیا یہ لوگ اونٹ کی طرف نہیں دیکھتے ہیں کہ اسے کس طرح پیدا کیا گیا ہے۔

And the heaven, how it is reared aloft

اور آسمان کو کس طرح بلند کیا گیا ہے۔

And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed

اور پہاڑ کو کس طرح نصب کیا گیا ہے۔

And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse?

اور زمین کو کس طرح بچھایا گیا ہے۔

Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder.

لہذا تم نصیحت کرتے رہو کہ تم صرف نصیحت کرنے والے ہو۔

You are not a watcher over them;

تم ان پر مسلط اور ان کے ذمہ دار نہیں ہو۔

But whoever turns back and disbelieves,

مگر جو منہ پھیر لے اور کافر ہو جائے۔

Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement.

تو خدا اسے بہت بڑے عذاب میں مبتلا کرے گا۔

Surely to Us is their turning back,

پھر ہماری ہی طرف ان سب کی بازگشت ہے۔

Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account.

اور ہمارے ہی ذمہ ان سب کا حساب ہے۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

I swear by the daybreak

قسم ہے فجر کی۔

And the ten nights

اور دس راتوں کی۔

And the even and the odd

اور جفت و طاق کی۔

And the night when it departs.

اور رات کی جب وہ جانے لگے۔

Truly in that there is an oath for those who possess understanding.

بے شک ان چیزوں میں قسم ہے صاحبِ عقل کے لئے۔

Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with Ad

کیا تم نے نہیں دیکھا کہ تمہارے رب نے قومِ عاد کے ساتھ کیا کیا ہے

(The people of) Aram, possessors of lofty buildings

ستون والے ارم والے۔

The like of which were not created in the (other) cities;

جس کا مثل دوسرے شہروں میں نہیں پیدا ہوا ہے۔

And (with) Samood, who hewed out the rocks in the valley

اور ثمود کے ساتھ جو وادی میں پتھر تراش کر مکان بناتے تھے۔

And (with) Firon, the lord of hosts

اور میخوں والے فرعون کے ساتھ۔

Who committed inordinacy in the cities

جن لوگوں نے شہروں میں سرکشی پھیلائی۔

So they made great mischief therein?

اور خوب فساد کیا۔

Therefore your Lord let down upon them a portion of the chastisement.

تو پھر خدا نے ان پر عذاب کے کوڑے برسا دیئے۔

Most surely your Lord is watching.

بے شک تمہارا پروردگار ظالموں کی تاک میں ہے۔

And as for man, when his Lord tries him, then treats him with honor and makes him lead an easy life, he says: My Lord honors me.

لیکن انسان کا حال یہ ہے کہ جب خدا نے اس کو اس طرح آزمایا کہ عزّت اور نعمت دے دی تو کہنے لگا کہ میرے رب نے مجھے باعزّت بنایا ہے۔

But when He tries him (differently), then straitens to him his means of subsistence, he says: My Lord has disgraced me.

اور جب آزمائش کے لئے روزی کو تنگ کر دیا تو کہنے لگا کہ میرے پروردگار نے میری توہین کی ہے۔

Nay! but you do not honor the orphan

ایسا ہرگز نہیں ہے بلکہ تم یتیموں کا احترام نہیں کرتے ہو۔

Nor do you urge one another to feed the poor

اور لوگوں کو مسکینوں کے کھانے پر آمادہ نہیں کرتے ہو۔

And you eat away the heritage, devouring (everything) indiscriminately

اور میراث کے مال کو اکٹھا کر کے حلال و حرام سب کھا جاتے ہو۔

And you love wealth with exceeding love.

اور مالِ دنیا کو بہت دوست رکھتے ہو۔

Nay! when the earth is made to crumble to pieces,

یاد رکھو کہ جب زمین کو ریزہ ریزہ کر دیا جائے گا۔

And your Lord comes and (also) the angels in ranks

اور تمہارے پروردگار کا حکم اور فرشتے صف در صف آجائیں گے۔

And hell is made to appear on that day. On that day shall man be mindful, and what shall being mindful (then) avail him?

اور جہنّم کو اس دن سامنے لایا جائے گا تو انسان کو ہوش آجائے گا لیکن اس دن ہوش آنے کا کیا فائدہ۔

He shall say: O! would that I had sent before for (this) my life!

انسان کہے گا کہ کاش میں نے اپنی اس زندگی کے لئے کچھ پہلے بھیج دیا ہوتا۔

But on that day shall no one chastise with (anything like) His chastisement

تو اس دن خدا ویسا عذاب کرے گا جو کسی نے نہ کیا ہو گا۔

And no one shall bind with (anything like) His binding.

اور نہ اس طرح کسی نے گرفتار کیا ہو گا۔

O soul that art at rest!

اے نفس مطمئن۔

Return to your Lord, well-pleased (with him), well-pleasing (Him)

اپنے رب کی طرف پلٹ آ اس عالم میں کہ تو اس سے راضی ہے اور وہ تجھ سے راضی ہے۔

So enter among My servants

پھر میرے بندوں میں شامل ہو جا۔

And enter into My garden.

اور میری جنت میں داخل ہو جا۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Nay! I swear by this city.

میں اس شہر کی قسم کھاتا ہوں۔

And you shall be made free from obligation in this city-

اور تم اسی شہر میں تو رہتے ہو۔

And the begetter and whom he begot.

اور تمہارے باپ آدمؑ اور ان کی اولاد کی قسم۔

Certainly We have created man to be in distress.

ہم نے انسان کو مشقت میں رہنے والا بنایا ہے۔

Does he think that no one has power over him?

کیا اس کا خیال یہ ہے کہ اس پر کوئی قابو نہ پا سکے گا۔

He shall say: I have wasted much wealth.

کہ وہ کہتا ہے کہ میں نے بے تحاشہ صرف کیا ہے۔

Does he think that no one sees him?

کیا اس کا خیال ہے کہ اس کو کسی نے نہیں دیکھا ہے۔

Have We not given him two eyes

کیا ہم نے اس کے لئے دو آنکھیں نہیں قرار دی ہیں۔

And a tongue and two lips

اور زبان اور دو ہونٹ بھی۔

And pointed out to him the two conspicuous ways?

اور ہم نے اسے دونوں راستوں کی ہدایت دی ہے۔

But he would not attempt the uphill road

پھر وہ گھاٹی پر سے کیوں نہیں گزرا۔

And what will make you comprehend what the uphill road is?

اور تم کیا جانو یہ گھاٹی کیا ہے۔

(It is) the setting free of a slave

کسی گردن کا آزاد کرانا۔

Or the giving of food in a day of hunger

یا بھوک کے دن میں کھانا کھلانا۔

To an orphan, having relationship

کسی قرابتدار یتیم کو۔

Or to the poor man lying in the dust.

یا خاکسار مسکین کو۔

Then he is of those who believe and charge one another to show patience, and charge one another to show compassion.

پھر وہ ان لوگوں میں شامل ہو جاتا جو ایمان لائے اور انہوں نے صبر اور مرحمت کی ایک دوسرے کو نصیحت کی۔

These are the people of the right hand.

یہی لوگ خوش نصیبی والے ہیں۔

And (as for) those who disbelieve in our communications, they are the people of the left hand.

اور جن لوگوں نے ہماری آیات سے انکار کیا ہے وہ بد بختی والے ہیں۔

On them is fire closed over.

انہیں آگ میں ڈال کر اسے ہر طرف سے بند کر دیا جائے گا۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

I swear by the sun and its brilliance

آفتاب اور اس کی روشنی کی قسم۔

And the moon when it follows the sun

اور چاند کی قسم جب وہ اس کے پیچھے چلے۔

And the day when it shows it

اور دن کی قسم جب وہ روشنی بخشے۔

And the night when it draws a veil over it

اور رات کی قسم جب وہ اسے ڈھانک لے۔

And the heaven and Him Who made it

اور آسمان کی قسم اور جس نے اسے بنایا ہے۔

And the earth and Him Who extended it

اور زمین کی قسم اور جس نے اسے بچھایا ہے۔

And the soul and Him Who made it perfect

اور نفس کی قسم اور جس نے اسے درست کیا ہے۔

Then He inspired it to understand what is right and wrong for it;

پھر بدی اور تقویٰ کی ہدایت دی ہے۔

He will indeed be successful who purifies it

بے شک وہ کامیاب ہو گیا جس نے نفس کو پاکیزہ بنا لیا۔

And he will indeed fail who corrupts it.

اور وہ نامراد ہو گیا جس نے اسے آلودہ کر دیا ہے۔

Samood gave the lie (to the truth) in their inordinacy

ثمود نے اپنی سرکشی کی بنا پر رسول کی تکذیب کی۔

When the most unfortunate of them broke forth with mischief.

جب ان کا بدبخت اٹھ کھڑا ہوا۔

So Allah’s apostle said to them (Leave alone) Allah’s she-camel, and (give) her (to) drink.

تو خدا کے رسول نے کہا کہ خدا کی اونٹنی اور اس کی سیرابی کا خیال رکھنا۔

But they called him a liar and slaughtered her, therefore their Lord crushed them for their sin and levelled them (with the ground).

تو ان لوگوں نے اس کی تکذیب کی اور اس کی کونچیں کاٹ ڈالیں تو خدا نے ان کے گناہ کے سبب ان پر عذاب نازل کر دیا اور انہیں بالکل برابر کر دیا۔

And He fears not its consequence.

اور اسے اس کے انجام کا کوئی خوف نہیں ہے۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

I swear by the night when it draws a veil

رات کی قسم جب وہ دن کو ڈھانپ لے۔

And the day when it shines in brightness

اور دن کی قسم جب وہ چمک جائے۔

And the creating of the male and the female

اور اس کی قسم جس نے مرد اور عورت کو پیدا کیا ہے۔

Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends).

بے شک تمہاری کوششیں مختلف قسم کی ہیں۔

Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil)

پھر جس نے مال عطا کیا اور تقویٰ اختیار کیا۔

And accepts the best

اور نیکی کی تصدیق کی۔

We will facilitate for him the easy end.

تو اس کے لئے ہم آسانی کا انتظام کر دیں گے۔

And as for him who is parsimonious and considers himself free from need (of Allah)

اور جس نے بخل کیا اور لاپروائی برتی۔

And rejects the best

اور نیکی کو جھٹلایا ہے۔

We will facilitate for him the difficult end.

اس کے لئے سختی کی راہ ہموار کر دیں گے۔

And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes.

اور اس کا مال کچھ کام نہ آئے گا جب وہ ہلاک ہو جائے گا۔

Surely Ours is it to show the way

بے شک ہدایت کی ذمہ داری ہمارے اوپر ہے۔

And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former.

اور دنیا و آخرت کا اختیار ہمارے ہاتھوں میں ہے۔

Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames:

تو ہم نے تمہیں بھڑکتی ہوئی آگ سے ڈرایا۔

None shall enter it but the most unhappy

جس میں کوئی نہ جائے گا سوائے بدبخت شخص کے۔

Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back.

جس نے جھٹلایا اور منہ پھیر لیا۔

And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil)

اور اس سے عنقریب صاحبِ تقویٰ کو محفوظ رکھا جائے گا۔

Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself.

جو اپنے مال کو دے کر پاکیزگی کا اہتمام کرتا ہے۔

And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded

جب کہ اس کے پاس کسی کا کوئی احسان نہیں ہے جس کی جزا دی جائے۔

Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High.

سوائے یہ کہ وہ خدائے بزرگ کی مرضی کا طلب گار ہے۔

And he shall soon be well-pleased.

اور عنقریب وہ راضی ہو جائے گا۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

I swear by the early hours of the day

قسم ہے ایک پہر چڑھے دن (دوپہر) کی۔

And the night when it covers with darkness.

اور قسم ہے رات کی جب وہ چیزوں کی پردہ پوشی کرے۔

Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor has He become displeased

تمہارے پروردگار نے نہ تم کو چھوڑا ہے اور نہ تم سے ناراض ہوا ہے۔

And surely what comes after is better for you than that which has gone before.

اور آخرت تمہارے لئے دنیا سے کہیں زیادہ بہتر ہے۔

And soon will your Lord give you so that you shall be well pleased.

اور عنقریب تمہارا پروردگار تمہیں اس قدر عطا کر دے گا کہ خوش ہو جاؤ۔

Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter?

کیا اس نے تم کو یتیم پاکر پناہ نہیں دی ہے۔

And find you lost (i.e. unrecognized by men) and guide (them to you)?

اور کیا تم کو گم گشتہ (گم شدہ) پاکر منزل تک نہیں پہنچایا ہے۔

And find you in want and make you to be free from want?

اور تم کو تنگ دست پاکر غنی نہیں بنایا ہے۔

Therefore, as for the orphan, do not oppress (him).

لہذا اب تم یتیم پر قہر نہ کرنا۔

And as for him who asks, do not chide (him)

اور سائل کوجھڑک مت دینا۔

And as for the favor of your Lord, do announce (it).

اور اپنے پروردگار کی نعمتوں کو برابر بیان کرتے رہنا۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Have We not expanded for you your breast

کیا ہم نے آپ کے سینہ کو کشادہ نہیں کیا۔

And taken off from you your burden

اور کیا آپ کے بوجھ کو اتار نہیں لیا۔

Which pressed heavily upon your back

جس نے آپ کی کمر کو توڑ دیا تھا۔

And exalted for you your esteem?

اور آپ کے ذکر کو بلند کر دیا۔

Surely with difficulty is ease.

ہاں زحمت کے ساتھ آسانی بھی ہے۔

With difficulty is surely ease.

بے شک تکلیف کے ساتھ سہولت بھی ہے۔

So when you are free, exert yourself (in worship).

لہذا جب آپ فارغ ہو جائیں تو (عبادت میں) کوشش کریں۔

And make your Lord your exclusive object.

اور اپنے رب کی طرف رخ کریں۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

I swear by the fig and the olive

قسم ہے انجیر اور زیتون کی۔

And mount Sinai

اور طورِ سینین کی۔

And this city made secure

اور اس امن والے شہر کی۔

Certainly We created man in the best make.

ہم نے انسان کو بہترین ساخت میں پیدا کیا ہے۔

Then We render him the lowest of the low.

پھر ہم نے اس کو پست ترین حالت کی طرف پلٹا دیا ہے۔

Except those who believe and do good, so they shall have a reward never to be cut off.

علاوہ ان لوگوں کے جو ایمان لائے اور انہوں نے نیک اعمال انجام دیئے تو ان کے لئے نہ ختم ہونے والا اجر ہے۔

Then who can give you the lie after (this) about the judgment?

پھر تم کو روزِ جزا کے بارے میں کون جھٹلا سکتا ہے۔

Is not Allah the best of the Judges?

کیا خدا سب سے بڑا حاکم اور فیصلہ کرنے والا نہیں ہے۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Read in the name of your Lord Who created.

اس خدا کا نام لے کر پڑھو جس نے پیدا کیا ہے۔

He created man from a clot.

اس نے انسان کو جمے ہوئے خون سے پیدا کیا ہے۔

Read and your Lord is Most Honorable

پڑھو اور تمہارا پروردگار بڑا کریم ہے۔

Who taught (to write) with the pen

جس نے قلم کے ذریعے تعلیم دی ہے۔

Taught man what he knew not.

اور انسان کو وہ سب کچھ بتا دیا ہے جو اسے نہیں معلوم تھا۔

Nay! man is most surely inordinate

بے شک انسان سرکشی کرتا ہے۔

Because he sees himself free from want.

کہ اپنے کو بے نیاز خیال کرتا ہے۔

Surely to your Lord is the return.

بے شک آپ کے رب کی طرف واپسی ہے۔

Have you seen him who forbids

کیا تم نے اس شخص کو دیکھا ہے جو منع کرتا ہے۔

A servant when he prays?

بندہِ خدا کو جب وہ نماز پڑھتا ہے۔

Have you considered if he were on the right way

کیا تم نے دیکھا کہ اگر وہ بندہ ہدایت پر ہو۔

Or enjoined guarding (against evil)?

یا تقویٰ کا حکم دے تو روکنا کیسا ہے۔

Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back?

کیا تم نے دیکھا کہ اگر اس کافر نے جھٹلایا اور منہ پھیر لیا۔

Does he not know that Allah does see?

تو کیا تمہیں نہیں معلوم کہ اللہ دیکھ رہا ہے۔

Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead

یاد رکھو اگر وہ روکنے سے باز نہ آیا تو ہم پیشانی کے بال پکڑ کر گھسیٹیں گے۔

A lying, sinful forehead.

جھوٹے اور خطا کار کی پیشانی کے بال۔

Then let him summon his council

پھر وہ اپنے ہم نشینوں کو بلائے۔

We too would summon the braves of the army.

ہم بھی اپنے جلاد فرشتوں کو بلاتے ہیں۔

Nay! obey him not, and make obeisance and draw nigh (to Allah).

دیکھو تم ہرگز اس کی اطاعت نہ کرنا اور سجدہ کر کے قرب خدا حاصل کرو۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Surely We revealed it on the grand night.

بے شک ہم نے اسے شب قدر میں نازل کیا ہے۔

And what will make you comprehend what the grand night is?

اور آپ کیا جانیں یہ شب قدر کیا چیز ہے۔

The grand night is better than a thousand months.

شب قدر ہزار مہینوں سے بہتر ہے۔

The angels and the Spirit descend in it by the permission of their Lord for every affair

اس میں ملائکہ اور روح القدس اذنِ خدا کے ساتھ تمام امور کو لے کر نازل ہوتے ہیں۔

Peace! it is till the break of the morning.

یہ رات طلوع فجر تک سلامتی ہی سلامتی ہے۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Those who disbelieved from among the followers of the Book and the polytheists could not have separated (from the faithful) until there had come to them the clear evidence:

اہل کتاب کے کفّار اور دیگر مشرکین اپنے کفر سے الگ ہونے والے نہیں تھے جب تک کہ ان کے پاس کھلی دلیل نہ آجاتی۔

An apostle from Allah, reciting pure pages

اللہ کی طرف کا نمائندہ جو پاکیزہ صحیفوں کی تلاوت کرے۔

Wherein are all the right ordinances.

جن میں قیمتی اور مضبوط باتیں لکھی ہوئی ہیں۔

And those who were given the Book did not become divided except after clear evidence had come to them.

اور یہ اہل کتاب متفرق نہیں ہوئے مگر اس وقت جب ان کے پاس کھلی ہوئی دلیل آگئی۔

And they were not enjoined anything except that they should serve Allah, being sincere to Him in obedience, upright, and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, and that is the right religion.

اور انہیں صرف اس بات کا حکم دیا گیا تھا کہ خدا کی عبادت کریں اور اس عبادت کو اسی کے لئے خالص رکھیں اور نماز قائم کریں اور زکوٰۃ ادا کریں اور یہی سچّا اور مستحکم دین ہے۔

Surely those who disbelieve from among the followers of the Book and the polytheists shall be in the fire of hell, abiding therein; they are the worst of men.

بے شک اہل کتاب میں جن لوگوں نے کفر اختیار کیا ہے اور دیگر مشرکین سب جہنّم میں ہمیشہ رہنے والے ہیں اور یہی بدترین خلائق ہیں۔

(As for) those who believe and do good, surely they are the best of men.

اور بے شک جو لوگ ایمان لائے ہیں اور انہوں نے نیک اعمال کئے ہیں وہ بہترین خلائق ہیں۔

Their reward with their Lord is gardens of perpetuity beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein forever; Allah is well pleased with them and they are well pleased with Him; that is for him who fears his Lord.

پروردگار کے یہاں ان کی جزا وہ باغات ہیں جن کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہوں گی وہ انہی میں ہمیشہ رہنے والے ہیں خدا ان سے راضی ہے اور وہ اس سے راضی ہیں اور یہ سب اس کے لئے ہے جس کے دل میں خوفِ خدا ہے۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

When the earth is shaken with her (violent) shaking

جب زمین زوروں کے ساتھ زلزلہ میں آجائے گی۔

And the earth brings forth her burdens

اور وہ سارے خزانے نکال ڈالے گی۔

And man says: What has befallen her?

اور انسان کہے گا کہ اسے کیا ہو گیا ہے۔

On that day she shall tell her news

اس دن وہ اپنی خبریں بیان کرے گی۔

Because your Lord had inspired her.

کہ تمہارے پروردگار نے اسے اشارہ کیا ہے۔

On that day men shall come forth in sundry bodies that they may be shown their works.

اس روز سارے انسان گروہ در گروہ قبروں سے نکلیں گے تاکہ اپنے اعمال کو دیکھ سکیں۔

So he who has done an atom’s weight of good shall see it.

پھر جس شخص نے ذرہ برابر نیکی کی ہے وہ اسے دیکھے گا۔

And he who has done an atom’s weight of evil shall see it.

اور جس نے ذرہ برابر برائی کی ہے وہ اسے دیکھے گا۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

I swear by the runners breathing pantingly

فراٹے بھرتے ہوئے تیز رفتار گھوڑوں کی قسم۔

Then those that produce fire striking

جو ٹاپ مار کر چنگاریاں اُڑانے والے ہیں۔

Then those that make raids at morn

پھر صبح دم حملہ کرنے والے ہیں۔

Then thereby raise dust

پھر غبارِ جنگ اڑانے والے ہیں۔

Then rush thereby upon an assembly:

اور دشمن کی جمعیت میں در آنے والے ہیں۔

Most surely man is ungrateful to his Lord.

بے شک انسان اپنے پروردگار کے لئے بڑا ناشکرا ہے۔

And most surely he is a witness of that.

اور وہ خود بھی اس بات کا گواہ ہے۔

And most surely he is tenacious in the love of wealth.

اور وہ مال کی محبت میں بہت سخت ہے۔

Does he not then know when what is in the graves is raised

کیا اسے نہیں معلوم ہے کہ جب مردوں کو قبروں سے نکالا جائے گا۔

And what is in the breasts is made apparent?

اور دل کے رازوں کو ظاہر کر دیا جائے گا۔

Most surely their Lord that day shall be fully aware of them.

تو ان کا پروردگار اس دن کے حالات سے خوب باخبر ہو گا۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

The terrible calamity!

کھڑکھڑانے والی۔

What is the terrible calamity!

اور کیسی کھڑکھڑانے والی۔

And what will make you comprehend what the terrible calamity is?

اور تمہیں کیا معلوم کہ وہ کیسی کھڑکھڑانے والی ہے۔

The day on which men shall be as scattered moths

جس دن لوگ بکھرے ہوئے پتنگوں کی مانند ہو جائیں گے۔

And the mountains shall be as loosened wool.

اور پہاڑ دھنکی ہوئی روئی کی طرح اُڑنے لگیں گے۔

Then as for him whose measure of good deeds is heavy

تو اس دن جس کی نیکیوں کا پلہ بھاری ہو گا۔

He shall live a pleasant life.

وہ پسندیدہ عیش میں ہو گا۔

And as for him whose measure of good deeds is light

اور جس کا پلہ ہلکا ہو گا۔

His abode shall be the abyss.

اس کا مرکز ہاویہ ہے۔

And what will make you know what it is?

اور تم کیا جانو کہ ہاویہ کیا مصیبت ہے۔

A burning fire.

یہ ایک دہکی ہوئی آگ ہے۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Abundance diverts you

تمہیں باہمی مقابلہ کثرت مال و اولاد نے غافل بنا دیا۔

Until you come to the graves.

یہاں تک کہ تم نے قبروں سے ملاقات کر لی۔

Nay! you shall soon know

دیکھو تمہیں عنقریب معلوم ہو جائے گا۔

Nay! Nay! you shall soon know.

اور پھر خوب معلوم ہو جائے گا۔دیکھو اگر تمہیں یقینی علم ہو جاتا۔

Nay! if you had known with a certain knowledge

دیکھو اگر تمہیں یقینی علم ہو جاتا۔

You should most certainly have seen the hell;

کہ تم جہنّم کو ضرور دیکھو گے۔

Then you shall most certainly see it with the eye of certainty;

پھر اسے اپنی آنکھوں دیکھے یقین کی طرح دیکھو گے۔

Then on that day you shall most certainly be questioned about the boons.

اور پھر تم سے اس دن نعمت کے بارے میں سوال کیا جائے گا۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

I swear by the time

قسم ہے عصر کی۔

Most surely man is in loss

بے شک انسان خسارہ میں ہے۔

Except those who believe and do good, and enjoin on each other truth, and enjoin on each other patience.

علاوہ ان لوگوں کے جو ایمان لائے اور انہوں نے نیک اعمال کئے اور ایک دوسرے کو حق اور صبر کی وصیت و نصیحت کی۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Woe to every slanderer, defamer

تباہی اور بربادی ہے ہر طعنہ زن اور چغل خور کے لئے۔

Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap);

جس نے مال کو جمع کیا اور خوب اس کا حساب رکھا۔

He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal.

اس کا خیال تھا کہ یہ مال اسے ہمیشہ باقی رکھے گا۔

Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster

ہرگز نہیں اسے یقینًا حطمہ میں ڈال دیا جائے گا۔

And what will make you realize what the crushing disaster is?

اور تم کیا جانو کہ حطمہ کیا شے ہے۔

It is the fire kindled by Allah

یہ اللہ کی بھڑکائی ہوئی آگ ہے۔

Which rises above the hearts.

جو دلوں تک چڑھتی جائے گی۔

Surely it shall be closed over upon them

وہ آگ ان کے اوپر گھیر دی جائے گی۔

In extended columns.

لمبے لمبے ستونوں کے ساتھ۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with the possessors of the elephant?

کیا تم نے نہیں دیکھا کہ تمہارے رب نے ہاتھی والوں کے ساتھ کیا برتاؤ کیا ہے۔

Did He not cause their war to end in confusion

کیا ان کی چال کو بے کار نہیں کر دیا ہے۔

And send down (to prey) upon them birds in flocks

اور ان پر اڑتی ہوئی ابابیل کو بھیج دیا ہے۔

Casting against them stones of baked clay

جو انہیں کھرنجوں کی کنکریاں مار رہی تھیں۔

So He rendered them like straw eaten up?

پھر انہوں نے ان سب کو چبائے ہوئے بھوسے کے مانند بنا دیا۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

For the protection of the Qureaish-

قریش کے انس و الفت کی خاطر۔

Their protection during their trading caravans in the winter and the summer-

جو انہیں سردی اور گرمی کے سفر سے ہے ۔

So let them serve the Lord of this House

لہذا انہیں چاہئے کہ اس گھر کے مالک کی عبادت کریں۔

Who feeds them against hunger and gives them security against fear.

جس نے انہیں بھوک میں سیر کیا ہے اور خوف سے محفوظ بنایا ہے۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Have you considered him who calls the judgment a lie?

کیا تم نے اس شخص کو دیکھا ہے جو قیامت کو جھٹلاتا ہے۔

That is the one who treats the orphan with harshness

یہ وہی ہے جو یتیم کو دھکّے دیتا ہے۔

And does not urge (others) to feed the poor.

اور کسی کو مسکین کے کھانے کے لئے تیار نہیں کرتا ہے۔

So woe to the praying ones

تو تباہی ہے ان نمازیوں کے لئے۔

Who are unmindful of their prayers

جو اپنی نمازوں سے غافل رہتے ہیں۔

Who do (good) to be seen

دکھانے کے لئے عمل کرتے ہیں۔

And withhold the necessaries of life.

اور معمولی ظروف بھی عاریت (کرایہ) پر دینے سے انکار کر دیتے ہیں۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Surely We have given you Kausar

بے شک ہم نے آپ کو کوثر عطا کیا ہے۔

Therefore pray to your Lord and make a sacrifice.

لہذا آپ اپنے رب کے لئے نماز پڑھیں اور قربانی دیں۔

Surely your enemy is the one who shall be without posterity.

یقینًا آپ کا دشمن بے اولاد رہے گا۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Say: O unbelievers!

آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ اے کافرو۔

I do not serve that which you serve

میں ان خداؤں کی عبادت نہیں کر سکتا جن کی تم پوجا کرتے ہو۔

Nor do you serve Him Whom I serve:

اور نہ تم میرے خدا کی عبادت کرنے والے ہو۔

Nor am I going to serve that which you serve

اور نہ میں تمہارے معبودوں کی پوجا کرنے والا ہوں۔

Nor are you going to serve Him Whom I serve:

اور نہ تم میرے معبود کے عبادت گزار ہو۔

You shall have your religion and I shall have my religion.

تمہارے لئے تمہارا دین ہے اور میرے لئے میرا دین ہے۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

When there comes the help of Allah and the victory

جب خدا کی مدد اور فتح کی منزل آجائے گی۔

And you see men entering the religion of Allah in companies

اور آپ دیکھیں گے کہ لوگ دینِ خدا میں فوج در فوج داخل ہو رہے ہیں۔

Then celebrate the praise of your Lord, and ask His forgiveness; surely He is oft-returning (to mercy).

تو اپنے رب کی حمد کی تسبیح کریں اور اس سے استغفار کریں کہ وہ بہت زیادہ توبہ قبول کرنے والا ہے۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Perdition overtake both hands of Abu Lahab, and he will perish.

ابو لہب کے ہاتھ ٹوٹ جائیں اور وہ ہلاک ہو جائے۔

His wealth and what he earns will not avail him.

نہ اس کا مال ہی اس کے کام آیا اور نہ اس کا کمایا ہوا سامان ہی۔

He shall soon burn in fire that flames

وہ عنقریب بھڑکتی ہوئی آگ میں داخل ہو گا۔

And his wife, the bearer of fuel

اور اس کی بیوی جو لکڑی ڈھونے والی ہے۔

Upon her neck a halter of strongly twisted rope.

اس کی گردن میں بٹی ہوئی رسی بندھی ہوئی ہے۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Say: He, Allah, is One.

اے رسول کہہ دیجئے کہ وہ اللہ ایک ہے۔

Allah is He on Whom all depend.

اللہ برحق اور بے نیاز ہے۔

He begets not, nor is He begotten.

اس کی نہ کوئی اولاد ہے اور نہ والد۔

And none is like Him.

اور نہ اس کا کوئی کفو اور ہم سر ہے۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the dawn

کہہ دیجئے کہ میں صبح کے مالک کی پناہ چاہتا ہوں۔

From the evil of what He has created

تمام مخلوقات کے شر سے۔

And from the evil of the utterly dark night when it comes

اور اندھیری رات کے شر سے جب اس کا اندھیرا چھا جائے۔

And from the evil of those who blow on knots

اور گنڈوں پر پھونکنے والیوں کے شر سے۔

And from the evil of the envious when he envies.

اور ہر حسد کرنے والے کے شر سے جب بھی وہ حسد کرے۔

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of men

اے رسول! کہہ دیجئے کہ میں انسانوں کے پروردگار کی پناہ چاہتا ہوں۔

The King of men

جو تمام لوگوں کا مالک اور بادشاہ ہے۔

The God of men

سارے انسانوں کا معبود ہے۔

From the evil of the whisperings of the slinking (Shaitan)

شیطانی وسوسے کے شر سے جو نامِ خدا سن کر پیچھے ہٹ جاتا ہے۔

Who whispers into the hearts of men

اور جو لوگوں کے دلوں میں وسوسے پیدا کراتا ہے۔

From among the jinn and the men.

وہ جنّات میں سے ہو یا انسانوں میں سے۔

Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.

اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
