Ziyarat of Ummul Baneen (s), Mother of Hazrat Abbas (a). The name of Ummul Baneen is Fatema, the daughter of Hezaam. She was an extremely righteous, valiant, religious, accomplished and sincere lady. After the martyrdom of Hazrat Fatema Zahra (s), she became the wife of Hazrat Ali (a). She gave birth to 4 sons Abbas, Abdullah, Jafar and Usmaan. All of them fought on the side of Imam Husain (a) and achieved martyrdom. Ummul Baneen used to mourn for her 4 sons and other martyrs of Karbala. She also composed Marsiyas (Poems of sorrow) in their honour and thus she was the one who has kept the memory of Karbala alive. Recite the Ziyarat of Ummul Baneen (s) as follows…
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكِ یَا زَوْجَۃَ وَلِیِّ اللہِ۔
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكِ یَا زَوْجَۃَ اَمِیْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ۔
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكِ یَا اُمَّ الْبَنِیْنَ۔
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكِ یَا اُمَّ الْعَبَّاسِ ابْنِ اَمِیْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ عَلِیِّ بْنِ اَبِیْ طَالِبٍ رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْكِ وَجَعَلَ الْجَنَّۃَ مَنْزِلَكِ وَمَاْوٰیكِ وَرَحْمَۃُ اللہِ وَبَرَكَاتُہٗ۔
As-salaamu 'alayki yaa zawjata waliyyi allaah.
As-salaamu 'alayki yaa zawjata ameeri al-mu'mineen.
As-salaamu 'alayki yaa umma al-baneen.
As-salaamu 'alayki yaa umma al-'abbaasi ibni ameeri al-mu'mineena 'aliyyi ibni abee taalibin radiya allaahu ta'aalaa 'anki waja'ala al-jannata manzilaki wama'waaki warahmatu allaahi wabarakaatuh.
Peace be on you, the wife of the beloved one of Allah, Peace be on you, the wife of the Commander of the Faithful, Peace be on you, O Ummul Baneen Peace be on you, the mother of Abbas, son of Amir al-Momeneen, Ali ibn Abu Talib, May Allah be pleased with you and make Jannat your home and resting place, with God’s mercy and blessings.
سلام ہو آپ پر اے زوجۂ ولیِ خدا، سلام ہو آپ پر اے زوجۂ امیر المومنینؑ، سلام ہو آپ پر اے ام البنین، سلام ہو آپ پر اے مادر گرامی عباس ابن امیر المومنین علی ابن ابی طالبؑ، خدا آپ سے راضی ہو اور جنت آپ کی منزل اور مقام قرار دے اور اللہ کی رحمت اور برکات ہوں آپ پر۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allaahumma salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aali muhammad.
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آلؑ پر۔
