Sayyad Ibne Tawoos in his book of Muhaj Da’awat has reported Sa’id Ibne Abi’l-Fath of Waasit as saying: I was once afflicted with a serious disease that overtired all physicians. Therefore, my father took me to the hospital where all physicians, headed by the Christian doctor of medicine, tried to find me treatment, but failed. Finally, they had to confess, “This disease cannot be healed except by God the All-exalted.” With breaking heart and distress, I had to go back home. سید ابن طاؤسؒ نے مہج الدعوات میں سعید ابن ابو الفتح قمی الواسطی سے نقل کیا ہے کہ انہوں نے کہا: مجھے ایک شدید بیماری لا حق ہوگئی ہے جس کے علا ج سے حکیم و طبیب عاجز آچکے ہیں چنانچہ میرے والد مجھے شفا خانے لے گئے تو وہاں کے اطباء کے علاوہ ایک ماہرنصرانی طبیب کو بھی بلوایا گیا سب نے میرے بارے میں خوب سوچااور آخرمیں اس نتیجے پر پہنچے کہ اس بیماری کا علاج سوائے خدا کے کسی کے بس میں نہیں ہے یہ سن کر میں بہت ہی شکستہ دل اور غمگین ہوگیا اور میرے والد کی جو کتابیں میرے قریب پڑی تھیں ان میں سے اٹھا کر ایک کا مطالعہ کرنے لگا اسی اثنا میں ایک کتاب کی پشت پر تحریر دیکھی کہ امام جعفر صادقؑ نے حضرت رسول خدا ﷺسے روایت کی ہے کہ آپؐ نے فرمایا: جس شخص کو کوئی بیماری لاحق ہو تو وہ نمازِ فجر کے بعد ۴۰ مرتبہ پڑھے۔۔۔
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ رَبِّ الْعالَمِيْنَ حَسْبُنَا اللهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيْلُ تَبَارَكَ اللهُ اَحْسَنُ الْخَالِقِيْنَ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَاقُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِاللهِ الْعَلِىِّ الْعَظِيْمِ۔
Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheemi al-hamdu lillaahi rabbi al-'aalameena hasbunaa allaahu wani'ma al-wakeelu tabaaraka allaahu ahsanu al-khaaliqeena walaa hawla walaaquwwata illaa billaahi al-'aliyyi al-'azeem.
In the name of Allah, the beneficent, the merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. Allah is sufficient for us, (He is our) most excellent protector. Blessed be Allah, the best of creators. There is no power, nor strength (with anyone) save Allah, the highest, the great.
خدا کے نام سے جو بڑا رحم والا مہربان ہے حمد ہے اللہ کے لئے جوجہانوں کا رب ہے ہمیں اللہ کافی ہے وہ بہترین کار ساز ہے با برکت ہے جو سب سے اچھا خالق ہے اور نہیں ہے طاقت وقوت مگر جو خدائے بلند وبزرگ سے ہے۔
I, the patient, waited for dawn, performed the obligatory prayer, and sat in my place repeating these words while I was fearful lest the pains would return to me. Keeping on this state for 3 days, the disease was gone. My father, after I had told him about this, thanked Almighty Allah. When he informed one of the physicians about the restoration of my health, the physician, who was non-Muslim, visited and examined me. When he was sure that my disease had gone, he converted to Islam, bore witness that Muhammad is the messenger of God, and committed himself to the teachings of Islam.
اس دوران درد اور بیماری کی جگہ ہاتھ مس کرتا رہے تو خدا وند عالم اسے صحت عطا فرمائے گا، پھر میں نے صبح کا انتظار کیا صبح ہوئی تو فریضہ نماز بجالانے کے بعد چالیس مرتبہ یہ دعا پڑھی اور پڑھتے وقت بیماری کی جگہ ہاتھ مس کرتا رہا چنانچہ اللہ نے میری بیماری دور کر دی میں بیٹھا بیٹھا ڈر رہا تھا کہ وہ بیماری کہیں پھر سے نہ پلٹ آئے لیکن جب تین دن گزر گئے تو میں نے یہ ماجرا اپنے والد کو سنایا انہوں نے خدا کا شکر ادا کیا اور پھر یہ ماجرا ایک طبیب سے بیان کیا جو کافر ذمی تھا وہ میرے پاس آیا اور دیکھا کہ واقعی بیماری دور ہو چکی تھی تو اس نے اس وقت کلمۂ شہادتین زبان پر جاری کیا اور حقیقی مسلمان ہو گیا۔

يَا مَنْ كَبَسَ الْاَرْضَ عَلَى الْمَآءِ وَسَدَّ الْهَوَآءَ بِالسَّمَآءِ وَاخْتَارَ لِنَفْسِهٖ اَحْسَنَ الْاَسْمَآءِ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَافْعَلْ بِىْ كَذَا وَكَذَا وَ ارْزُقْنِىْ وَعَافِنِىْ مِنْ كَذَا وَكَذَا۔
Yaa man kabasa al-arda 'alaa al-maa'i wasadda al-hawaa'a bis-samaa'i wakhtaara linafsihee ahsana al-asmaa'i salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aali muhammadin waf'al bee kazaa wakazaa wa urzuqnee wa'aafinee min kazaa wakazaa.
O He Who has pressed the earth on water, blocked the air with the sky, and chose for Himself the most excellent of all names, (please) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, do to me…grant me sustenance, and cure me of…

يَا عَلِىُّ يَا عَظِيْمُ يَا رَحْمٰنُ يَا رَحِيْمُ يَا سَمِيْعَ الدَّعَوَاتِ يَا مُعْطِىَ الْخَيْرَاتِ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِهٖ وَاَعْطِنِىْ مِنْ خَيْرِ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ مَا اَنْتَ اَهْلُهٗ وَاصْرِفْ عَنِّىْ مِنْ شَرِّ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ مَا اَنْتَ اَهْلُهٗ وَاَذْهِبْ عَنِّىْ هٰذَا الْوَجَعَ۔
Yaa 'aliyyu yaa 'azeemu yaa rahmaanu yaa raheemu yaa samee'a ad-da'awaati yaa mu'tiya al-khayraati salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aalihee wa-a'tinee min khayri ad-dunyaa wal-aakhirati maa anta ahluhoo wasrif 'annee min sharri ad-dunyaa wal-aakhirati maa anta ahluhoo wa-azhib 'annee haazaa al-waja'.
O Most High! O All-great! O All-beneficent! O All-merciful! O Hearer of all prayers! O Giver of the good things! (Please) bless Muhammad and his Household, give me from the good of this world and the Next World in the amount that fits You, dispel from me the evils of this world and the Next World in the way that fits You, and remove from me this ailment…
اے بلند! اے بزرگ، اےرحم والے،اے مہربان، اے دعائیں سننے والے، اے بھلائیاں عطا کرنے والے رحمت فرما محمدؐ اور آلؑ محمد پر اور مجھے دنیا وآخرت کی بھلائی عطا فرما جس کا تو اہل ہے مجھے دنیا و آخرت کے شر سے بچا جیسا کہ تو اس کا اہل ہے اور اس درد و بیماری کو مجھ سے دور کر دے۔

Fa-innahoo qad ghaazanee wa-ahzananee.

دعاکے پڑھنے میں آہ و زاری کرے کہ اس سے شفایاب ہونے میں جلدی ہوگی۔ نیز کتاب عدۃ الداعی میں امام جعفر صادقؑ سے منقول ہے : جب تمہیں کوئی درد و تکلیف ہو تو زیرِ آسمان دونوں ہاتھ بلند کر کے یہ دعا پڑھو۔۔۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّكَ عَيَّرْتَ اَقْوَامًا فِىْ كِتَابِكَ فَقُلْتَ :(قُلِ ادْعُوا الَّذِيْنَ زَعَمْتُمْ مِنْ دُوْنِهٖ فَلَا يَمْلِكُوْنَ كَشْفَ الضُّرِّ عَنْكُمْ وَلَا تَحْوِيْلًا) فَيَا مَنْ لَا يَمْلِكُ كَشْفَ ضُرِّىْ وَلَا تَحْوِيْلَهٗ عَنِّىْ اَحَدٌ غَيْرُهٗ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِهٖ وَاكْشِفْ ضُرِّىْ وَحَوِّلْهُ اِلٰى مَن يَّدْعُوْ مَعَكَ اِلٰهًا آخَرَ فَاِنِّىْ اَشْهَدُ اَنْ لَا اِلٰهَ غَيْرُكَ۔
Allaahumma innaka 'ayyarta aqwaaman fee kitaabika faqulta :(quli ud'oo allazeena za'amtum min doonihee falaa yamlikoona kashfa ad-durri 'ankum walaa tahweelan) fayaa man laa yamliku kashfa durree walaa tahweelahoo 'annee ahadun ghayruhoo salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aalihee wakshif durree wahawwilhu ilaa man yad'oo ma'aka ilaahan aakhara fa-innee ashhadu an laa ilaaha ghayruk.
O Allah! Having rebuked some people in Your Book, You said, “Say, ‘Call on those whom you assert besides Him. They shall not control the removal of distress from you nor its transference.’” O He save Whom no one controls the removal of distress nor its transference, (please) bless Muhammad and his Household, remove my distress, and transfer it to one who calls on another deity besides You, for I bear witness that there is no god save You.
اے معبود! تو نے قرآن میں بعض قوموں کی سرزنش وملامت کی اور فرمایا: اے پیغمبرؐ!ان سے کہو کہ پکارو ان کو جنہیں تم خدا کے علاوہ معبود سمجھتے ہو کہ وہ تم سے کوئی تکلیف دور نہیں کرسکتے نہ کوئی تبدیلی لا سکتے ہیں پس اے وہ جس کے علاوہ میری کوئی تکلیف دور نہیں کر سکتا نہ میری حالت بدل سکتا ہے تو رحمت فرما محمدؐ اور اس کی آلؑ پر میری تکلیف دور کر اور اسے اس کی طرف منتقل کر دے جو تیرے ساتھ کسی اور کو معبود پکارتا ہے پس میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ تیرے سوا کو ئی معبود نہیں۔
It is also reported that any believer who is diseased or ailed, should rub the ailed organ with his hand and repeat the following holy verse (17:82) with sincerity. If he does, he will be restored to health no matter what his disease would be. Confirming this, the holy verse corroborates that it carries healing and mercy to the believers…
ایک اور روایت میں ہے : جس مؤمن کو بیماری یا کوئی درد لاحق ہو تو درد کی جگہ ہاتھ پھیرتے ہوئے خلوصِ نیت سے (سورۂ اسرا،آیت ۸۲) پڑھے تو اسے شفا حاصل ہوگی چاہے بیماری کوئی بھی ہو اس کے لئے ’’مومنوں کے لئے شفا اور رحمت ہے ‘‘۔

وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْاٰنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَآءٌ وَّرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَلَا يَزِيْدُ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ اِلَّا خَسَارًا
Wanunazzilu mina al-qur'aani maa huwa shifaa'un warahmatun lilmu'mineena walaa yazeedu az-zaalimeena illaa khasaaraa
And We reveal of the Quran that which is a healing and a mercy to the believers, and it adds only to the perdition of the unjust.
اور ہم قرآن میں وہ سب کچھ نازل کررہے ہیں جو صاحبانِ ایمان کے لئے شفا اور رحمت ہے اور ظالمین کے لئے خسارہ میں اضافہ کے علاوہ کچھ نہ ہوگا۔

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّىْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذِىْ اِذَا سَئَلَكَ بِهِ الْمُضْطَرُّ كَشَفْتَ مَا بِهٖ مِنْ ضُرٍّ وَمَكَّنْتَ لَهٗ فِى الْاَرْضِ وَجَعَلْتَهٗ خَلِيْفَتَكَ عَلٰى خَلْقِكَ اَنْ تُصَلِّىَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلٰى اَهْلِ بَيْتِهٖ وَاَنْ تُعَافِيَنِىْ مِنْ عِلَّتِىْ۔
Allaahumma innee as'aluka bismika allazee izaa sa'alaka bihi al-mudtarru kashafta maa bihee min durrin wamakkanta lahoo fee al-ardi waja'altahoo khaleefataka 'alaa khalqika an tusalliya 'alaa muhammadin wa'alaa ahli baytihee wa-an tu'aafiyanee min 'illatee.
O Allah, I beseech You in Your name with which if anyone in distress beseeches You, You remove from him that which troubles him and let him stay on the earth, make him Your representative over Your creation; so, send blessings on Muhammad and on the people of his house (Ahl ul Bayt) and cure me of my illness.
اے معبود! تجھ سے سوال کرتا ہوں تیرے اس نام کے واسطے سےجس کے ذریعے کو ئی پریشان حال سوال کرے تو تو اس کی تکلیف دور کرتا ہے اسے زمین پر اقتدار دیتا ہے اور اسے اپنی مخلوق پر اپنا نائب بناتا ہے سوال کرتا ہوں تو رحمت فرما محمدؐ اور ان کے اہل بیتؑ پر اور مجھ کو اس بیماری سے صحت عطا فرما۔
He may then sit, gather the wheat grains around him, repeat the same supplicatory prayer, divide the wheat grains into four shares, give each share to a poor man, and repeat the same supplicatory prayer. Once an ailed person does all that, he will be restored to health, Allah willing.
پھر اُٹھ کر بیٹھ جائے اور اپنے ارد گرد سے گندم کے دانے جمع کرکے یہی دعا پڑھے اس گندم کے چار حصے کر کے چار مسکینوں کو دے اور یہی دعا پڑھے انشا ء اللہ اس بیماری سے شفا یاب ہو جائے گا۔
