Chest Pains
سینے کا درد
A short text for pain in the chest, kept among the taweez in the Centre’s library. It is not a petition but Qur’an: the verses of Surat al-Baqara in which a man is slain, the matter disputed, and the dead restored at Allah’s command — “thus Allah brings the dead to life, and He shows you His signs so that you may understand” (2:72–73).
It is recited, or written and carried, as a means of recourse alongside medical care rather than in place of it.
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
وَاِذْ قَتَلْتُمْ نَفْسًا فَادّٰارَءْ تُمْ فِيْهَا وَاللهُ مُخْرِجٌ مَّا كُنْتُمْ تَكْتُمُوْنَ
Wa iz qataltum nafsan faddaara’tum feehaa wallaahu mukhrijum maa kuntum taktumoon.
And when you killed a man, then you disagreed with respect to that, and Allah was to bring forth that which you were going to hide.
اور جب تم نے ایک شخص کو قتل کردیا اور اس کے قاتل کے بارے میں جھگڑا کرنے لگے جبکہ خدا اس راز کا واضح کرنے والا ہے جسے تم چھپا رہے تھے۔
فَقُلْنَا اضْرِبُوْهُ بِبَعْضِهَا كَذٰلِكَ يُحْيِ اللهُ الْمَوْتٰى وَيُرِيْكُمْ اٰيٰتِهٖ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُوْنَ
Faqulnad riboohu biba’dihaa; kazaalika yuhyil laa hul mawtaa wa yureekum aayaatihee la’allakum ta’qiloon.
So We said: Strike the (dead body) with part of the (Sacrificed cow), thus Allah brings the dead to life, and He shows you His signs so that you may understand.
تو ہم نے کہا کہ مقتول کو گائے کے ٹکڑے سے مس کردو خدا اسی طرح مردوں کو زندہ کرتا ہے اور تمہیں اپنی نشانیاں دکھلاتا ہے کہ شاید تمہیں عقل آجائے۔
