Cure from Ailingبیماری سے نجات
A supplication for someone who is ill, kept among the texts written and carried as a taweez. It asks Allah to lift the ailment and restore health, and to give excellent protection and excellent wellbeing.
The turn that gives the dua its character comes next: it asks that what the sick person has suffered be made material of their life and a remission of their wrongs — so that the illness is not wasted, but counted for them. It carries with it the Qur’anic verse “And We reveal of the Qur’an that which is a healing and a mercy for the believers” (17:82), and closes with salawat upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.

Al-Shahid, has reported that whoever is seriously ailed may recite Surah Fateha 40 times on a glass of water. He may then pour the water on his body. He may have a measure of wheat near him and hand over each beggar a measure and ask him to pray Almighty Allah to cure him. If he does so, he will be restored to health, Allah willing. “Medicate your patients with alms.” This saying is reported through considerable chains of authority.
شیخ شہیدؒ نے نقل فرمایا ہے : جسے کوئی شدید درد لاحق ہو جائے تو وہ ایک برتن میں کچھ گندم ڈال کر اپنے پاس رکھے اور پانی کے ایک جام پر ۴۰ مرتبہ سورۂ فاتحہ پڑھے پھر وہ پانی اپنے اوپر چھڑک لے بعد میں اپنے پاس رکھے ہوئے گندم کسی سائل کو دے اور اسے کہے کہ وہ اس کے لئے بیماری سے شفا یابی کی دعا کرے انشاء اللہ شفا حاصل ہوجائے گی۔ اور معتبر اسناد کے ساتھ یہ بات ہم تک پہنچی ہے کہ اپنے بیماروں کا علاج صدقہ سے کرو۔

مزید شیخ شہیدؒ نے دفعِ مرض کے لئے یہ بھی نقل کیا ہے : انسان اپنا ہاتھ بیمار کے دائیں بازو پر رکھے اور ۷ مرتبہ سورۂ فاتحہ کی تلاوت کرکےیہ د عا پڑھے۔۔۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَزِلْ عَنْهُ الْعِلَلَ وَالدَّآءَ وَاَعِدْهُ اِلَى الصِّحَّةِ وَالشِّفآءِ وَاَمِدَّهُ بِحُسْنِ الْوِقايَةِ وَرُدَّهُ اِلٰى حُسْنِ الْعَافِيَةِ وَاجْعَلْ مَا نَالَهُ فِىْ مَرَضِهِ هٰذَا مَادَّةً لِحَيْوَتِهِ وَكَفَّارَةً لِسَيِّئَاتِهِ اَللّٰهُمَّ وَصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allaahumma azil 'anhu al-'ilala wad-daa'a wa-a'id-hu ilaa as-sihhati wash-shifaa'i wa-amiddahu bihusni al-wiqaayati waruddahu ilaa husni al-'aafiyati waj'al maa naalahu fee maradihi haazaa maaddatan lihaywatihi wakaffaaratan lisayyi'aatihi allaahumma wasalli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aali muhammad.
O Allah, (please) remove ailments and maladies from him, restore him to health and cure, supply him with excellent protection, return him to excellent wellbeing, and cause what has afflicted him in this ailment of him to be material of his life and remission of his evildoings. O Allah, (please) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
اے معبود! اس سے بیماری اور اسباب دور کر دے اسے صحت اور شفا کی طرف لوٹا دے بہترین حفاظت سے اس کی مدد کر اور اسے اچھی حالت کی طرف پلٹا دے اس بیماری میں اسے جو تکلیف پہنچی ہے اس کو اس کی زندگی کا سبب اور اس کے گناہوں کا کفارہ بنا دے اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما محمدؐ اور آل محمؑدپر۔
If this does not work, Surah Fateha may be repeated 70 times, and it will be effective, Allah willing.
اگر یہ دعا اس کے شفایاب ہونے کے سلسلے میں کوئی اثر نہ دکھائے تو دوبارہ یہی عمل کرے لیکن اس دفعہ سورۂ فاتحہ ۷۰ مرتبہ پڑھے انشا ء اللہ دعا اثر کرے گی۔
Imam Baqir (a) is reported to have said, “Whoever is not healed by Surah Fateha and Surah Ikhlaas, nothing else will heal him. Verily, these two Surahs cure of all ailments.”
امام محمد باقرؑ سے روایت ہے : جس کو سورۂ فاتحہ اور سورۂ اخلاص شفایاب نہ کریں تو پھر کوئی چیز اس کو شفایاب نہیں کر سکتی جب کہ یہ دو سورتیں ہر مرض وبیماری کو دور کرتی ہیں۔
Imam Sadiq (a) is reported to have said: Allah will certainly cure any ailed believer who says the following verse sincerely while rubbing his ailed organ with his hand…
امام جعفر صادقؑ سے منقول ہے۔ جس مؤمن کو کوئی درد یا بیماری لا حق ہو تو خلوص نیت کے ساتھ یہ پڑھ کر درد کی جگہ ہاتھ مس کرے تو حق تعالیٰ اسے شفا عطا فرمائے گا۔
وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْاٰنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَآءٌ وَّرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ۔
Wanunazzilu mina al-qur'aani maa huwa shifaa'un warahmatun lilmu'mineen.
(And) We reveal of the Qur’an that which is a healing and a mercy for believers.
اور جو نازل کیا گیا قرآن سے اور وہ مومنین کے لئے شفا و رحمت ہے۔
Imam Reza (a) is reported to have said: For all ailments, you may say the following supplicatory prayer…
امام علی رضاؑ سے مروی ہے : ہر طرح کے درد و بیماری دور ہونے کے لئے یہ دعا پڑھے۔۔۔
يَا مُنْزِلَ الشِّفَآءِ وَمُذْهِبَ الدَّآءِ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِهٖ وَاَنْزِلْ عَلٰى وَجَعِى الشِّفَآءَ۔
Yaa munzila ash-shifaa'i wamuzhiba ad-daa'i salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aalihee wa-anzil 'alaa waja'ee ash-shifaa'.
O revealer of cure and remover of malady, (please) bless Muhammad and his Household and reveal cure upon my ailment.
اے شفا کے نازل کرنے والے اور بیماری کے دور کرنے والے رحمت فرما محمدؐ اور ان کی آلؑ پر اور میرے اس درد کی شفا ناز ل کر۔
