A supplication for the time before death, kept in the Mayyit Guide.
It is one sentence long and its whole argument is a comparison: pardon the many times I disobeyed You, and accept the few times I obeyed. The reciter does not claim the balance is favourable — the dua is built on admitting that it is not.

Based on obligatory precaution, a believer (male or female) who is dying ie. breathing his last breaths must be laid on his back, if possible, and in a way that the soles of his feet face qibla till the ghusl of mayyit is complete.
جو مسلمان محتضر ہو یعنی جاں کنی کی حالت میں ہو خواہ مرد ہو یا عورت، بڑا ہو یا چھوٹا، اسے احتیاط کی بنا پر بصورت امکان پشت کے بل یوں لٹانا چاہئے کہ اس کے پاوں کے تلوے قبلہ رخ ہوں اور غسل میت مکمل ہونے تک اسی طرح لٹانا چاہیئے۔
It is recommended to recite Talqeen near a dying person with the Shahdatain (two testimonies), the names of the Twelve Imams (a), and other rightful beliefs of the faith in a manner that he understands. It is also recommended that the aforementioned things be repeated until the time of death.

بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِیَ الْكَثِیْرَ مِنْ مَّعَاصِیْكَ وَاقْبَلْ مِنَّی الْیَسِیْرَ مِنْ طَاعَتِكَ یَا مَن یَّقْبَلُ الْیَسِیْرَ وَ یَعْفُوْ عَنِ الْكَثِیْرِ اِقْبَلْ مِنِّیْ الْیَسِیْرَ وَاعْفُ عَنِّیَ الْكَثِیْرَ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ الْعَفُوُّ الْغَفُوْرُ ارْحَمْنِیْ فَاِنَّكَ رَحِیْمٌ۔
Allaahumma ighfir liya al-katheera min ma'aaseeka waqbal minnaa al-yaseera min taa'atika yaa man yaqbalu al-yaseera wa ya'foo 'ani al-katheeri iqbal minnee al-yaseera wa'fu 'anniya al-katheera innaka anta al-'afuwwu al-ghafooru irhamnee fa-innaka raheem.
O Allah! Pardon the many times I have disobeyed You, and accept the few instances when I have obeyed You. O You Who accept the few and pardon the many! Accept from me what are few and pardon me for the many. Indeed, You are the All-Pardoning, the All-Forgiving. O Allah! Have mercy on me, for You are the Ever-Merciful.
اے اللہ! میرے گناہ معاف فرما، اور میری تھوڑی سی اطاعت بھی قبول کر لے۔ اے وہ ذات جو تھوڑا سا عمل بھی قبول کرتی ہے اور بہت سی خطائیں معاف کر دیتی ہے! میری تھوڑی سی نیکی قبول فرما اور میرے بہت سے گناہ معاف کر دے۔ بے شک تو ہی بہت معاف کرنے والا، بہت بخشنے والا ہے۔ مجھ پر رحم فرما، کیونکہ تو بڑا مہربان ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allaahumma salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aali muhammad.
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آلؑ پر۔
Dua to be recited at the time of painful death Sakraatul Maut
امام علیؑ کی یہ دعا تکلیف جان کنی میں مبتلا شخص کے لئے دعائے سکرات الموت
If someone is experiencing a painful death, it is recommended that he be taken to the place where he used to perform prayers, as long as this does not upset him.
کسی کی جان سختی سے نکل رہی ہو تو اگر اسے تکلیف نہ ہو تو اسے اس جگہ لے جانا جہاں وہ نماز پڑھا کرتا تھا مستحب ہے۔
In order to comfort a dying person, it is recommended to recite at his side the blessed Surah Yaasin, Surah Saaffaat, Surah Ahzaab, Aayatul Kursi and 54th verse of Surah Araaf (7:54-56) and the last three verses of Surah Baqarah (2:284-286). In fact, (it is recommended) to recite as much of the Qur’an as possible.
جو شخص جاں کنی کے عالم میں ہو اس کی آسانی کے لئے (یعنی اس مقصد سے کہ اس کی جان آسانی سے نکل جائے) اس کے سرہانے سورۂ یس، سورۂ صافات، سورۂ احزاب، آیت الکرسی اور سورہ اعراف:۵۴۔۵۶ کی ۵۴ ویں آیت اور سورہ بقرہ: ۲۸۴۔۲۸۶ کی آخری تین آیات پڑھنا مستحب ہے بلکہ قرآن مجید جتنا بھی پڑھا جا سکے پڑھا جائے۔
It is disapproved to leave a dying person alone, to place a weighty object on his stomach, to allow Junub or Haiz person near him, to talk excessively near him, to cry near him, or to leave women alone next to him.
جو شخص جاں کنی کے عالم میں ہو اسے تنہا چھوڑنا اور کوئی بھاری چیز اس کے پیٹ پر رکھنا اور جُنُب اور حائض کا اس کے قریب ہونا اسی طرح اس کے پاس زیادہ باتیں کرنا، رونا اور صرف عورتوں کو چھوڑنا مکروہ ہے۔
