Surah Taghabun (64, 18 ayat)سورۂ تغابن

Doubters who think they will never be raised are told they certainly will be, and the day of gathering is named a day of loss and gain. Before that the text recalls earlier peoples who tasted the evil result of their conduct. Affliction is said to come only by Allah's permission, possessions and children are called a trial, and pardon, forbearance and spending are urged.

Mutual Deceit (Madina)

It is narrated from the Holy Prophet (s) that the person who recites this Surah will be safe at the time of his death. Imam Jafar Sadiq (a) has said that if a person recites this Surah in the waajib namaz then on the Day of Judgement this Surah itself will intercede on his behalf until he is allowed to enter Jannah. It is also narrated that one who recites this Surah will be protected from the tyranny of the rulers.

امام صادقؑ فرماتے ہیں:جس نے واجب نماز میں سورۂ تغابن کی تلاوت کی روزِ قیامت یہ سورہ اس کا شفیع ہوگا گواہ رہے گا اور جب تک پڑھنے والا داخل بہشت نہیں ہوگا یہ جدا نہ ہوگا۔ (مجمع البیان،ج۱۰ص۲۷)

بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

يُسَبِّحُ لِلهِ مَا فِي السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِي الْاَرْضِ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ

Yusabbihu lillaahi maa fee as-samaawaati wamaa fee al-ardi lahu al-mulku walahu al-hamdu wahuwa 'alaa kulli shay'in qadeer

Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth declares the glory of Allah; to Him belongs the kingdom, and to Him is due (all) praise, and He has power over all things.

زمین و آسمان کا ہر ذرہ خدا کی تسبیح کر رہا ہے کہ اسی کے لئے ملک ہے اور اسی کے لئے حمد ہے اور وہی ہر شے پر قدرت رکھنے والا ہے۔

هُوَ الَّذِيْ خَلَقَكُمْ فَمِنْكُمْ كَافِرٌ وَّمِنْكُم مُّؤْمِنٌ وَّاللهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ بَصِيْرٌ

Huwa allazee khalaqakum faminkum kaafirun waminkum mu'minun wallaahu bimaa ta'maloona baseer

He it is Who created you, but one of you is an unbeliever and another of you is a believer; and Allah sees what you do.

اسی نے تم سب کو پیدا کیا ہے پھر تم میں سے کچھ مومن ہیں اور کچھ کافر اور اللہ تمہارے اعمال کو خوب دیکھ رہا ہے۔

خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ وَصَوَّرَكُمْ فَاَحْسَنَ صُوَرَكُمْ وَاِلَيْهِ الْمَصِيْرُ

Khalaqa as-samaawaati wal-arda bil-haqqi wasawwarakum fa-ahsana suwarakum wa-ilayhi al-maseer

He created the heavens and the earth with truth, and He formed you, then made goodly your forms, and to Him is the ultimate resort.

اسی نے آسمان و زمین کو حق کے ساتھ پیدا کیا ہے اور تمہاری صورت کو بھی انتہائی حسین بنایا ہے اور پھر اسی کی طرف سب کی بازگشت بھی ہے۔

يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تُسِرُّوْنَ وَمَا تُعْلِنُوْنَ وَاللهُ عَلِيْمٌۢ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُوْرِ

Ya'lamu maa fee as-samaawaati wal-ardi waya'lamu maa tusirroona wamaa tu'linoona wallaahu 'aleemun bizaati as-sudoor

He knows what is in the heavens and the earth, and He knows what you hide and what you manifest; and Allah is Cognizant of what is in the hearts.

وہ زمین و آسمان کی ہر شے سے باخبر ہے اور ان تمام چیزوں کو جانتا ہے جن کا تم اظہار کرتے ہو یا جنہیں تم چھپاتے ہو اور وہ سینوں کے رازوں سے بھی باخبر ہے۔

اَلَمْ يَاْتِكُمْ نَبَؤُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا مِنْ قَبْلُ فَذَاقُوْا وَبَالَ اَمْرِهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِيْمٌ

Alam ya'tikum naba'u allazeena kafaroo min qablu fazaaqoo wabaala amrihim walahum 'azaabun aleem

Has there not come to you the story of those who disbelieved before, then tasted the evil result of their conduct, and they had a painful punishment?

کیا تمہارے پاس پہلے کفر اختیار کرنے والوں کی خبر نہیں آئی ہے کہ انہوں نے اپنے کام کے وبال کا مزہ چکھ لیا اور ان کے لئے درد ناک عذاب ہے۔

ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهٗ كَانَت تَّاْتِيْهِمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَقَالُوْٓا اَبَشَرٌ يَّهْدُوْنَنَا فَكَفَرُوْا وَتَوَلَّوا وَّاسْتَغْنَى اللهُ وَاللهُ غَنِيٌّ حَمِيْدٌ

Zaalika bi-annahoo kaanat ta'teehim rusuluhum bil-bayyinaati faqaaloo abasharun yahdoonanaa fakafaroo watawallaw wastaghnaa allaahu wallaahu ghaniyyun hameed

That is because there came to them their apostles with clear arguments, but they said: Shall mortals guide us? So they disbelieved and turned back, and Allah does not stand in need (of anything), and Allah is Self-sufficient, Praised.

یہ اس لئے کہ ان کے پاس رسول کھلی ہوئی نشانیاں لے کر آتے تھے تو انہوں نے صاف کہہ دیا کہ کیا بشر ہماری ہدایت کرے گا اور یہ کہہ کر انکار کر دیا اور منہ پھیر لیا تو خدا بھی ان سے بے نیاز ہے اور وہ قابل تعریف غنی ہے۔

زَعَمَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْٓا اَن لَّنْ يُّبْعَثُوْا قُلْ بَلٰى وَرَبِّيْ لَتُبْعَثُنَّ ثُمَّ لَتُنَبَّؤُنَّ بِمَا عَمِلْتُمْ وَذٰلِكَ عَلَى اللهِ يَسِيْرٌ

Za'ama allazeena kafaroo an lan yub'athoo qul balaa warabbee latub'athunna thumma latunabba'unna bimaa 'amiltum wazaalika 'alaa allaahi yaseer

Those who disbelieve think that they shall never be raised. Say: Aye! by my Lord! you shall most certainly be raised, then you shall most certainly be informed of what you did; and that is easy to Allah.

ان کفّار کا خیال یہ ہے کہ انہیں دوبارہ نہیں اٹھایا جائے گا تو کہہ دیجئے کہ میرے پروردگار کی قسم تمہیں دوبارہ زندہ کیا جائے گا اور پھر بتایا جائے گا کہ تم نے کیا کیا ہے اور یہ کام خدا کے لئے بہت آسان ہے۔

فَاٰمِنُوْا بِاللهِ وَرَسُوْلِهٖ وَالنُّوْرِ الَّذِيْٓ اَنْزَلْنَا وَاللهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ خَبِيْرٌ

Fa-aaminoo billaahi warasoolihee wan-noori allazee anzalnaa wallaahu bimaa ta'maloona khabeer

Therefore believe in Allah and His Apostle and the Light which We have revealed; and Allah is Aware of what you do.

لہذا خدا اور رسول اور اس نور پر ایمان لے آؤ جسے ہم نے نازل کیا ہے کہ اللہ تمہارے اعمال سے خوب باخبر ہے۔

يَوْمَ يَجْمَعُكُمْ لِيَوْمِ الْجَمْعِ ذٰلِكَ يَوْمُ التَّغَابُنِ وَمَنْ يُّؤْمِنْۢ بِاللهِ وَيَعْمَلْ صَالِحًا يُّكَفِّرْ عَنْهُ سَيِّاَاتِهٖ وَيُدْخِلْهُ جَنّٰتٍ تَجْرِيْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَآ اَبَدًا ذٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيْمُ

Yawma yajma'ukum liyawmi al-jam'i zaalika yawmu at-taghaabuni waman yu'min billaahi waya'mal saalihan yukaffir 'anhu sayyi'aatihee wayudkhilhu jannaatin tajree min tahtihaa al-anhaaru khaalideena feehaa abadan zaalika al-fawzu al-'azeem

On the day that He will gather you for the day of gathering, that is the day of loss and gain; and whoever believes in Allah and does good, He will remove from him his evil and cause him to enter gardens beneath which rivers flow, to abide therein forever; that is the great achievement.

وہ قیامت کے دن تم سب کو جمع کرے گا اور وہی ہار جیت کا دن ہو گا اور جو اللہ پر ایمان رکھے گا اور نیک اعمال کرے گا خدا اس کی برائیوں کو دور کر دے گا اور اسے ان باغات میں داخل کرے گا جن کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہوں گی وہ ان ہی میں ہمیشہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے اور یہی سب سے بڑی کامیابی ہے۔

وَالَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا وَكَذَّبُوْا بِاٰيٰتِنَآ اُولٰٓئِكَ اَصْحٰبُ النَّارِ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَا وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيْرُ

Wallazeena kafaroo wakazzaboo bi-aayaatinaa oolaa'ika ashaabu an-naari khaalideena feehaa wabi'sa al-maseer

And (as for) those who disbelieve and reject Our communications, they are the inmates of the fire, to abide therein and evil is the resort.

اور جن لوگوں نے کفر اختیار کیا اور ہماری آیات کو جھٹلایا وہ اصحابِ جہنّم ہیں اور وہیں ہمیشہ رہنے والے ہیں اور یہ ان کا بدترین انجام ہے۔

مَآ اَصَابَ مِن مُّصِيْبَةٍ اِلَّا بِاِذْنِ اللهِ وَمَنْ يُّؤْمِنْۢ بِاللهِ يَهْدِ قَلْبَهٗ وَاللهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيْمٌ

Maa asaaba min museebatin illaa bi-izni allaahi waman yu'min billaahi yahdi qalbahoo wallaahu bikulli shay'in 'aleem

No affliction comes about but by Allah’s permission; and whoever believes in Allah, He guides aright his heart; and Allah is Cognizant of all things.

کوئی مصیبت نازل نہیں ہوتی ہے مگر خدا کی اجازت سے اور جو صاحبِ ایمان ہوتا ہے خدا اس کے دل کی ہدایت کر دیتا ہے اور خدا ہر شے کا خوب جاننے والا ہے۔

وَاَطِيْعُوا اللهَ وَاَطِيْعُوا الرَّسُوْلَ فَاِنْ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ فَاِنَّمَا عَلٰى رَسُوْلِنَا الْبَلٰغُ الْمُبِيْنُ

Wa-atee'oo allaaha wa-atee'oo ar-rasoola fa-in tawallaytum fa-innamaa 'alaa rasoolinaa al-balaaghu al-mubeen

And obey Allah and obey the Apostle, but if you turn back, then upon Our Apostle devolves only the clear delivery (of the message).

اور تم لوگ خدا کی اطاعت کرو اور رسول کی اطاعت کرو پھر اگر انحراف کرو گے تو رسول کی ذمہ داری واضح طور پر پیغام پہنچا دینے کے علاوہ کچھ نہیں ہے۔

اَللهُ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ وَعَلَى اللهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ

Allaahu laa ilaaha illaa huwa wa'alaa allaahi fal-yatawakkali al-mu'minoon

Allah, there is no god but He; and upon Allah, then, let the believers rely.

اللہ ہی وہ ہے جس کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے اور تمام صاحبانِ ایمان کو اسی پر بھروسہ کرنا چاہئے۔

يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْٓا اِنَّ مِنْ اَزْوَاجِكُمْ وَاَوْلَادِكُمْ عَدُوًّا لَّكُمْ فَاحْذَرُوْهُمْ وَاِنْ تَعْفُوْا وَتَصْفَحُوْا وَتَغْفِرُوْا فَاِنَّ اللهَ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ

Yaa ayyuhaa allazeena aamanoo inna min azwaajikum wa-awlaadikum 'aduwwan lakum fahzaroohum wa-in ta'foo watasfahoo wataghfiroo fa-inna allaaha ghafoorun raheem

O you who believe! surely from among your wives and your children there is an enemy to you; therefore beware of them; and if you pardon and forbear and forgive, then surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

ایمان والو! تمہاری بیویوں اور تمہاری اولاد میں سے بعض تمہارے دشمن ہیں لہذا ان سے ہوشیار رہو اور اگر انہیں معاف کر دو اور ان سے درگزر کرو اور انہیں بخش دو تو اللہ بھی بہت بخشنے والا اور مہربان ہے۔

اِنَّمَا اَمْوَالُكُمْ وَاَوْلَادُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ وَّاللهُ عِنْدَهٗٓ اَجْرٌ عَظِيْمٌ

Innamaa amwaalukum wa-awlaadukum fitnatun wallaahu 'indahoo ajrun 'azeem

Your possessions and your children are only a trial, and Allah it is with Whom is a great reward.

تمہارے اموال اور تمہاری اولاد تمہارے لئے صرف امتحان کا ذریعہ ہیں اور اجر عظیم صرف اللہ کے پاس ہے۔

فَاتَّقُوا اللهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ وَاسْمَعُوْا وَاَطِيْعُوْا وَاَنْفِقُوْا خَيْرًا لِّاَنْفُسِكُمْ وَمَنْ يُّوْقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهٖ فَاُولٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُوْنَ

Fattaqoo allaaha maa istata'tum wasma'oo wa-atee'oo wa-anfiqoo khayran li-anfusikum waman yooqa shuhha nafsihee fa-oolaa'ika humu al-muflihoon

Therefore be careful of (your duty to) Allah as much as you can, and hear and obey and spend, it is better for your souls; and whoever is saved from the greediness of his soul, these it is that are the successful.

لہذا جہاں تک ممکن ہو اللہ سے ڈرو اور اس کی بات سنو اور اطاعت کرو اور راہِ خدا میں خرچ کرو کہ اس میں تمہارے لئے خیر ہے اور جو اپنے ہی نفس کے بخل سے محفوظ ہو جائے وہی لوگ فلاح اور نجات پانے والے ہیں۔

اِنْ تُقْرِضُوا اللهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا يُّضٰعِفْهُ لَكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ وَاللهُ شَكُوْرٌ حَلِيْمٌ

In tuqridoo allaaha qardan hasanan yudaa'ifhu lakum wayaghfir lakum wallaahu shakoorun haleem

If you set apart for Allah a goodly portion, He will double it for you and forgive you; and Allah is the Multiplier (of rewards), Forbearing

اگر تم اللہ کو قرضِ حسنہ دو گے تو وہ اسے دوگنا بنا دے گا اور تمہیں معاف بھی کر دے گا کہ وہ بڑا قدر داں اور برداشت کرنے والا ہے۔

عٰلِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ

'Aalimu al-ghaybi wash-shahaadati al-'azeezu al-hakeem

The Knower of the unseen and the seen, the Mighty, the Wise.

وہ حاضر و غائب کا جاننے والا اور صاحبِ عزّت و حکمت ہے۔

صَدَقَ اللهُ الْعَلِیُّ الْعَظِیْمُ۔

Sadaqa allaahu al-'aliyyu al-'azeem.

Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.

اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
