Praising Allah as taught to Janab-e-Owais-e-Karani
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّيْ اَسْئَلُكَ وَلَا اَسْئَلُ غَيْرَكَ وَاَرْغَبُ اِلَيْكَ وَلَا اَرْغَبُ اِلٰى غَيْرِكَ اَسْئَلُكَ يَا اَمَانَ الْخَآئِفِيْنَ وَجَارَ الْمُسْتَجِرِيْنَ اَنْتَ الْفَتَّاحُ ذُو الْخَيْرَاتِ مُقِيْلُ الْعَثَرَاتِ وَمَاحِي السَّيِّآتِ وَكَاتِبُ الْحَسَنَاتِ وَرَافِعُ الدَّرَجَاتِ، اَسْئَلُكَ بِاَفْضَلِ الْمَسَآئِلِ كُلِّهَا وَاَنْجَحِهَا الَّتِيْ لَا يَنْۢبَغِيْ لِلْعِبَادِ اَنْ يَّسْئَلُوْكَ اِلَّا بِهَا وَبِكَ۔
Allaahumma innee as'aluka walaa as'alu ghayraka wa-arghabu ilayka walaa arghabu ilaa ghayrika as'aluka yaa amaana al-khaa'ifeena wajaara al-mustajireena anta al-fattaahu zoo al-khayraati muqeelu al-'atharaati wamaahee as-sayyi'aati wakaatibu al-hasanaati waraafi'u ad-darajaati, as'aluka bi-afdali al-masaa'ili kullihaa wa-anjahihaa allatee laa yanbaghee lil-'ibaadi an yas'alooka illaa bihaa wabik.
O Allah! I ask from You not from others. I bow to You and will never bow to other than You. O the one who gives respite to those who fear Him. O the refuge of the one who seeks refuge. You are the doer of goodness and the one to find a way through difficulties. You forgive our carelessness, erase our sins, record our good deeds, raise our status. I ask from You all good wishes and success, such wishes other than which to seek from You is not proper.
خدا وند! تجھی سے مانگتا ہوں، کسی اور سے نہیں مانگوں گا، تیری طرف جھک رہا ہوں، تیرے علاوہ کسی کا رُخ نہ کروں گا۔ اے ڈرنے والوں کو اطمینان دینے والے، اے پناہ مانگنے والوں کی پناہ گاہ، تو نیکیاں کرنے اور مشکلیں حل کرنے والا ہے، لغزشوں کو معاف کرتا، اور گناہوں کو محو فرماتا ہے، خوبیاں لکھتا اور درجے بڑھاتا ہے، تجھ سے ہر قسم کی اچھی تمنائیں اور کامیاب ترین خواہشیں مانگتا ہوں، ایسی تمنائیں جن کے علاوہ تجھ سے کچھ مانگنا ہی اچھا نہیں۔
يَا اللهُ يَا رَحْمٰنُ وَبِاَسْمَآئِكَ الْحُسْنٰى وَاَمْثَالِكَ الْعُلْيَا وَنِعَمِكَ الَّتِيْ لَا تُحْصٰى وَبِاَكْرَمِ اَسْمَآئِكَ عَلَيْكَ وَاَحَبِّهَا اِلَيْكَ وَاَشْرَفِهَا عِنْدَكَ مَنْزِلَةً وَاَقْرَبِهَا مِنْكَ وَسِيْلَةً وَاَجْزَلِهَا مَبْلَغًا وَاَسْرَعِهَا مِنْكَ اِجَابَةً وَبِاِسْمِكَ الْمَخْزُوْنِ الْجَلِيْلِ الْاَجَلِّ الْعَظِيْمِ الَّذِي تُحِبُّهُ وَتَرْضَاهُ وَتَرْضٰى عَمَّنْ دَعَاكَ بِهٖ وَتَسْتَجِیْبُ وَحَقٌّ عَلَيْكَ اَنْ لَا تَحْرِمَ بِهٖ سَآئِلَكَ وَبِكُلِّ اسْمٍ هُوَ لَكَ فِي التَّوْرٰةِ وَالْاِنْجِيْلِ وَالزَّبُوْرِ وَالْفُرْقَانِ وَبِكُلِّ اِسْمٍ هُوَ لَكَ عَلَّمْتَهٗ اَحَدًا مِنْ خَلْقِكَ اَوْ لَمْ تُعَلِّمْهُ اَحَدًا۔
Yaa allaahu yaa rahmaanu wabi-asmaa'ika al-husnaa wa-amthaalika al-'ulyaa wani'amika allatee laa tuhsaa wabi-akrami asmaa'ika 'alayka wa-ahabbihaa ilayka wa-ashrafihaa 'indaka manzilatan wa-aqrabihaa minka waseelatan wa-ajzalihaa mablaghan wa-asra'ihaa minka ijaabatan wabi-ismika al-makhzooni al-jaleeli al-ajalli al-'azeemi allazee tuhibbuhu watardaahu watardaa 'amman da'aaka bihee watastajeebu wahaqqun 'alayka an laa tahrima bihee saa'ilaka wabikulli ismin huwa laka fee at-tawraati wal-injeeli waz-zaboori wal-furqaani wabikulli ismin huwa laka 'allamtahoo ahadan min khalqika aw lam tu'allimhu ahadaa.
O Allah! O the merciful, by Your beautiful names, those great examples and the countless bounties and by those names which are near to You in greatness and dearer to You who in the ranks are nearer to You and honoured and whose intercession is closer to You, and very important in position, the most effective for acceptance and by Your name which is protected, glorious, respected and great, with which You are happy and satisfied, and one who calls You by this name is Your beloved. You accept his invocations and it is his right upon You that You do not refuse his invocations. And by all those names which are mentioned in Taurat and Injeel, Zaboor and Qur’an. And by all those names which is specialized for You, which You have informed to one of Your creatures or none is aware of it.
اے اللہ! اے رحم کرنے والے، تجھے قسم ہے اپنے اسمائے حسنٰی، بلند ترین مثالوں اور ان نعمتوں کی جن کا شمار نہیں ہو سکتا، اور ان ناموں کا صدقہ جو تیرے نزدیک سب سے بلند اور محبوب ہیں، جو مرتبے میں تیرے نزدیک اشرف ہیں اور وسیلے میں تجھ سے زیادہ قریب ہیں، اور منزلت میں زیادہ اہم ہیں، قبولیت کے لئے زیادہ سے زیادہ با اثر ہیں، اور تیرے اسی نام کا واسطہ جو محفوظ ہے، جلیل ہے، بہت محترم ہے، بہت عظیم ہے، جس سے تو خوش اور راضی ہے، اور جو اس نام سے پکارے وہ بھی تیرا محبوب ہے، تو اس کی دعا بھی قبول فرما لیتا ہے، اور تیرے اوپر اس کا یہ حق ہوتا ہے کہ اسے سوال میں محروم نہ کرے، اور (یہی نام نہیں) تجھے ہر اس نام کی قسم جو توریت اور انجیل، زبور و فرقان میں ہے، اور تمام وہ نام جو تیرے لئے مخصوص اور کسی ایک مخلوق کو تو نے بتائے ہوں، یا انہیں کوئی بھی نہ جانتا ہو۔
وَبِكُلِّ اِسْمٍ دَعَاكَ بِهٖ حَمَلَةُ عَرْشِكَ وَمَلَآئِكَتُكَ وَاَصْفِيَائُكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ وَبِحَقِّ السَّآئِلِيْنَ لَكَ وَالرَّاغِبِيْنَ اِلَيْكَ وَالْمُتَعَوِّذِيْنَ بِكَ وَالْمُتَضَرِّعِيْنَ اِلَيْكَ وَبِحَقِّ كُلِّ عَبْدٍ مُّتَعَبِّدٍ لَكَ فِيْ بَرٍّ اَوْ بَحْرٍ اَوْ سَهْلٍ اَوْ جَبَلٍ اَدْعُوْكَ دُعَآءَ مَنْ قَدِ اشْتَدَّتْ فَاقَتُهٗ وَعَظُمَ جُرْمُهٗ وَاَشْرَفَ عَلَى الْهَلَكَةِ وَضَعُفَتْ قُوَّتُهٗ وَمَنْ لَا يَثِقُ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عَمَلِهٖ وَلَا يَجِدُ لِذَنْۢبِهٖ غَافِرًا غَيْرَكَ وَلَا لِسَعْيِهٖ شَاكِرًا سِوَاكَ هَرَبْتُ اِلَيْكَ غَيْرَ مُسْتَنْكِفٍ وَلَا مُسْتَكْبِرٍ عَنْ عِبَادَتِكَ۔
Wabikulli ismin da'aaka bihee hamalatu 'arshika wamalaa'ikatuka wa-asfiyaa'uka min khalqika wabihaqqi as-saa'ileena laka war-raaghibeena ilayka wal-muta'awwizeena bika wal-mutadarri'eena ilayka wabihaqqi kulli 'abdin muta'abbidin laka fee barrin aw bahrin aw sahlin aw jabalin ad'ooka du'aa'a man qadi ishtaddat faaqatuhoo wa'azuma jurmuhoo wa-ashrafa 'alaa al-halakati wada'ufat quwwatuhoo waman laa yathiqu bishay'in min 'amalihee walaa yajidu lizanbihee ghaafiran ghayraka walaa lisa'yihee shaakiran siwaaka harabtu ilayka ghayra mustankifin walaa mustakbirin 'an 'ibaadatik.
And by all those names by which the holders of Your Throne and other Angels and those appointed from Your creation call upon You, and by the right of those who call upon You, who bow down to You, who seek refuge from You, and those who complain to You. By the right of those who worship You whether on barren or fertile land, or on hills he calls You. Like whose need is quite severe and sins are manifold and has reached the door of death, strength has given way, who has no hopes on his deeds. He is not able to find anyone to accept his efforts and to forgive his sins other than You. And he has come voluntarily. There is no intention to rebel due to Your obedience.
اور ہر وہ اسم جس سے تیرا عرش اٹھانے والے یا دوسرے فرشتے اور تیری مخلوق کے منتخب افراد تجھے پکارتے ہوں تجھے اپنے مانگنے والوں اور تیری طرف جھکنے والوں، تجھ سے پناہ لینے اور فریاد کرنے والوں کے حق کی قسم، اور ہر اس بندے کے حق کا صدقہ جو تیرے لئے عبادت کرتا ہو، چاہے وہ خشکی و تری میں یا ہموار زمین اور پہاڑ پر تجھے اس طرح پکارے، جیسے کسی کی ضرورت بہت سنگین اور جرم بہت بڑا ہو، اور موت کے منہ میں پہنچ گیا ہو، قوت نے جواب دے دیا ہو، جسے اپنے عمل میں کسی چیز پر بھروسہ نہ رہا ہو۔ تیرے سوا گناہ کا بخشنے والا، اور تیرے علاوہ اس کی کوششوں کو سراہنے والا نہ مل رہا ہو۔ تیری بارگاہ میں بھاگ کر آیا ہو اور بلاجبرواکراہ آیا ہو، تیری عبادت سے سرتابی کا ارادہ نہیں۔۔
يَا اُنْسَ كُلِّ فَقِيْرٍ مُسْتَجِيْرٍ اَسْئَلُكَ بِاَنَّكَ اَنْتَ اللهُ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ الْحَنَّانُ الْمَنَّانُ بَدِيْعُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ ذُوالْجَلَالِ وَالْاِكْرَامِ عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ الرَّحْمٰنُ الرَّحِيْمُ وَاَنْتَ الرَّبُّ وَاَنَا الْعَبْدُ وَاَنْتَ الْمٰلِكُ وَاَنَا الْمَمْلُوْكُ وَاَنْتَ الْعَزِيْزُ وَاَنَا الذَّلِيْلُ وَاَنْتَ الْغَنِيُّ وَاَنَا الْفَقِيْرُ وَاَنْتَ الْحَيُّ وَاَنَا الْمَيِّتُ وَاَنْتَ الْبَاقِيْ وَاَنَا الْفَانِيْ وَاَنْتَ الْمُحْسِنُ وَاَنَا الْمُسِیْٓءُ وَاَنْتَ الْغَفُوْرُ وَاَنَا الْمُذْنِبُ وَاَنْتَ الرَّحِيْمُ وَاَنَا الْخَاطِيْ۔
Yaa unsa kulli faqeerin mustajeerin as'aluka bi-annaka anta allaahu laa ilaaha illaa anta al-hannaanu al-mannaanu badee'u as-samaawaati wal-ardi zooljalaali wal-ikraami 'aalimu al-ghaybi wash-shahaadati ar-rahmaanu ar-raheemu wa-anta ar-rabbu wa-anaa al-'abdu wa-anta al-maaliku wa-anaa al-mamlooku wa-anta al-'azeezu wa-anaa az-zaleelu wa-anta al-ghaniyyu wa-anaa al-faqeeru wa-anta al-hayyu wa-anaa al-mayyitu wa-anta al-baaqee wa-anaa al-faanee wa-anta al-muhsinu wa-anaa al-musee'u wa-anta al-ghafooru wa-anaa al-muznibu wa-anta ar-raheemu wa-anaa al-khaatee.
O Companion of every needy one seeking refuge I ask You as there is no Allah other than You. You are affectionate, the Great obliger, the Creator of the Heaven and the Earth. Possessor of majesty and mercy. Knower of the unseen and seen, You are the beneficent, the merciful. You are the Lord and I am a slave. You are the king and I am Your subject. You are honoured and I am degraded. You are self-sufficient and I am dependent, You are alive and I am dead, You are everliving and I will perish. You are doer of good and I am sinful. You are forgiving and I am a sinner. You are merciful and I am transgressor.
اے ہر محتاج پناہ چاہنے والے کے سہارے! میں تجھ سے سوال کرتا ہوں کیونکہ تو ہی اللہ ہے، تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، تو ہی بڑا مہربان، بڑا احسان کرنے والا، آسمانوں اور زمین کا موجد، صاحبِ جلال و کرم، غائب و حاضر سے واقف، تو ہی رحمٰن و رحیم ہے۔ (معبود) تو بندہ پرور ہے اور میں بندہ، تو مالک ہے میں تیری ملکیت، تو صاحبِ عزّت ہے میں ذلیل، تو غنی ہے اور ہم فقیر، اور تو زندہ ہے ہم مردہ، تو باقی ہے ہم فانی، تو محسن ہے اور ہم بدکار، تو مغفرت کرنے والا ہے ہم گناہ گار، تو رحیم ہے ہم خطا کار۔
وَاَنْتَ الْخَالِقُ وَاَنَا الْمَخْلُوْقُ وَاَنْتَ الْقَوِيُّ وَاَنَا الضَّعِيْفُ وَاَنْتَ الْمُعْطِيْ وَاَنَا السَّآئِلُ، وَاَنْتَ الْآمِنُ وَاَنَا الْخَآئِفُ، وَاَنْتَ الرَّازِقُ وَاَنَا الْمَرْزُوْقُ، وَاَنْتَ اَحَقُّ مَنْ شَكَوْتُ اِلَيْهِ وَاسْتَغَثْتُ بِهٖ وَرَجَوْتُهٗ لِاَنَّكَ كَمْ مِنْ مُّذْنِبٍ قَدْ غَفَرْتَ لَهٗ وَكَمْ مِنْ مُّسِيْءٍ قَدْ تَجَاوَزْتَ عَنْهُ فَاغْفِرْ لِيْ وَتَجَاوَزْ عَنِّيْ وَارْحَمْنِيْ وَعَافِنِيْ مِمَّا نَزَلَ بِيْ وَلَا تَفْضَحْنِيْ بِمَا جَنَيْتُهٗ عَلٰى نَفْسِيْ وَخُذْ بِيَدِيْ وَبِيَدِ وَالِدَيَّ وَ وَلَدِيْ وَارْحَمْنَا بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ یَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْاِكْرَامِ۔
Wa-anta al-khaaliqu wa-anaa al-makhlooqu wa-anta al-qawiyyu wa-anaa ad-da'eefu wa-anta al-mu'tee wa-anaa as-saa'ilu, wa-anta al-aaminu wa-anaa al-khaa'ifu, wa-anta ar-raaziqu wa-anaa al-marzooqu, wa-anta ahaqqu man shakawtu ilayhi wastaghathtu bihee warajawtuhoo li-annaka kam min muznibin qad ghafarta lahoo wakam min musee'in qad tajaawazta 'anhu faghfir lee watajaawaz 'annee warhamnee wa'aafinee mimmaa nazala bee walaa tafdahnee bimaa janaytuhoo 'alaa nafsee wakhuz biyadee wabiyadi waalidayya wa waladee warhamnaa birahmatika yaa arhama ar-raahimeena yaa zaa al-jalaali wal-ikraam.
You are the Creator and I am the created. You are the Strong and I am the weak. You are the provider and I am the seeker. You are the Secure and I am the fearful. You are the sustainer and I am the sustained. To whom we complain and address our grievances. You are most deserving from among them. As You have pardoned many of the sinners. How many of the transgressors have You overlooked. Now You pardon me, overlook my faults, have mercy on me. Protect me from the calamity which has befallen me. Don't degrade me due to my errors. Help me, and my parents and my children. Have mercy on us. O Merciful of all the mercifuls and the possessor of respect and Honour.
تو خالق ہے ہم مخلوق، تو قوی ہے ہم ضعیف، تو عطا کرنے والا ہم مانگنے والے، تو مطمئن کرنے والا اور ہم خوف زدہ، توروزی دینے والا ہم رزق حاصل کرنے والے، جس سے شکایت و درخواست و فریاد کرتا ہوں، ان میں سب سے زیادہ حق دار تو ہے، کیونکہ بہت سے گناہ گاروں کو تو نے بخش دیا، کتنے بدکاروں سے تونے درگزر کی، تو اب مجھے بخش دے، مجھ سے بھی درگذر فرما، مجھ پر رحم کر، جو مصیبت نازل ہوئی ہے اس سے محفوظ فرما۔ اپنے لئے جو غلطیاں کی ہیں ان کی وجہ سے رسوا نہ ہونے دے، مجھے اور میرے والدین، اور اولاد کی مدد فرما، ہم سب پر رحم کر، اے مہربانوں میں سب سے بڑے مہربان، اور صاحبِ جلال و کرم، ہم سب پر رحم فرما۔ (آمین یا رب العٰلمین)
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allaahumma salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aali muhammad.
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آلؑ پر۔
