Grave of Mukhtar (a)
قبرِ جنابِ مختار (ع)
The ziyarat of al-Mukhtar ibn Abi Ubayda al-Thaqafi, recited at his grave in Kufa.
Mukhtar rose against those who killed Imam Husain (a) at Karbala, and the ziyarat greets him by that: O righteous servant, O sincere friend, O Aba Ishaq al-Mukhtar, O avenger.
It names his sincerity in obedience to Allah and in his love for Imam Zayn al-Abidin (a), and says he sacrificed himself to please the Imams by aiding the pure progeny and taking retribution from those who wronged them. It closes asking Allah to reward him on behalf of the Prophet and his Household.
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ اَیُّهَا الْعَبْدُ الصَّالِحُ۔ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ اَیُّهَا الْوَلِیُ النَّاصِحُ۔ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ یَا اَبَا اِسْحَاقَ الْمُخْتَارِ۔ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ اَیُّهَا الْآخِذُ بِالثَّارِ الْمُحَارِبُ لِلْكَفَرَۃِ الْفُجَّارِ۔ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ اَیُّهَا الْمُخْلِصُ لِلهِ فِیْ طَاعَتِهٖ وَلِزِّیْنِ الْعَابِدِیْنَ فِیْ مَحَبَّتِهِ۔ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ یَا مَنْ رَضِیَ عَنْهُ النَّبِیُّ الْمُخْتَارُ وَقَسِیْمُ الْجَنَّۃِ وَالنَّرِ وَكَاشِفُ الْكَرْبِ وَالْغُمَّۃِ قَائِمًا لَمْ یَصِلْ اِلَیْهِ اَحَدُ مِنَ الْاُمَّۃِ۔ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ یَا مَنْ بَذَلَ نَفْسَهٗ فِیْ رَضَائِ الْاَئِمَّۃِ فِیْ نُصْرَۃِ الْعِتْرَۃِ الطَّاهِرِیْنَ۔ وَالْآخِذُ بِثَارِهِمْ مِنَ الْعِصَابَۃِ الْمَلْعُوْنَۃِ الْفَاجِرَۃِ۔ فَجَزَاكَ اللهُ عَنِ النَّبِیِّ وَعَنْ اَهْلِ بَیْتِهٖ عَلَیْهِمُ السَّلَامُ۔
As salaamo a’laika ayyo-hal a’bdus saale-ho.
As salaamo a’laika ayyo-hal wale-yoon naase-ho.
Salaamo a’laika yaa abaa is-haa-qal mukhtaare.
Salaamo a’laika ayyo-hal aakhe-zo bis-saaril mo-haare-bo lil-kafara-til fuj-jaare.
As salaamo a’laika ayyo-hal mukhle-so lil-laahe fee taa-a’te-hi wa lizzee-nil aa’be-deena fee ma-habbate-he.
As salaamo a’laika yaa man razeya a’n-hun nabiyyul mukhtaa-ro wa qasee-mul jannate wan-nare wa kaa-she-ful karabe wal ghumma-te qaa-e-man lam ya-sil ilai-he ahado minal ummate.
As salaamo a’laika yaa man bazala nafsa-hu fee rezaa-il aimmate fee nusra-til i’tra-tit taahe-reena wal aakhe-zo be-saare-him minal e’saa-batil mal-oo’na-til faaje-rate.
Fa-jazaa-kal laaho a’neen nabiyye wa a’n ahle baiyte-hi a’laihe-mus salaamo.
Peace be upon you, O righteous servant! Peace be upon you, O sincere friend! Peace be upon you, O Aba Ishaq al-Mukhtar! Peace be upon you, O avenger, warrior battling against evil disbelievers! Peace be upon you, O the one sincere in his obedience to Allah and in his love for Imam Zayn ul Abedin (a.s). Peace be upon you, O the one with whom were pleased the chosen Prophet, the distributor of heaven and hell and the remover of grief and sorrow. None from the community reach such a position. Peace be upon you, O the one who sacrificed himself to please the Imams by aiding the pure progeny, who avenged them from the cursed evil group. So, may Allah reward you on behalf of the Prophet and his household, peace be upon them.
آپ پر، اے خونِ شہداء کا بدلہ لینے والے، اور کافروں و بدکاروں کے خلاف جہاد کرنے والے۔ سلام ہو آپ پر، اے وہ شخص جو اللہ کی اطاعت میں خالص تھا، اور اللہ کی محبت میں عبادت گزاروں کے لیے زینت (باعثِ فخر) تھا۔ سلام ہو آپ پر، اے وہ جس سے نبیِ منتخب راضی تھے، اور وہ بھی جسے جنت و جہنم کی تقسیم کرنے والے (امیرالمؤمنینؑ) اور غم و کرب دور کرنے والے (اہلِ بیتؑ) کی رضا حاصل تھی ایسی ثابت قدمی کے ساتھ کہ امت میں کوئی آپ کے مرتبے تک نہ پہنچ سکا۔ سلام ہو آپ پر، اے وہ جس نے اپنی جان ائمہؑ کی رضا کے لیے، اور پاک عترت (اہلِ بیتؑ) کی مدد کے لیے قربان کر دی۔ اور آپ اُن کے خون کا بدلہ لینے والے ہیں اُن ملعون اور بدکار گروہوں سے۔ پس اللہ آپ کو نبیؐ اور اُن کے اہلِ بیتؑ کی طرف سے بہترین جزا عطا فرمائے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allahumma swalle alaa muhammadiw wa aale muhammadin
Allah’s (s.w.t) choicest blessings be upon Mohammed and his holy progeny.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آل ؑپر۔
