امام علیؑ نے جنگ صفین کی واپسی کےبعد لوگوں کو دوبارہ جنگ کے لئے آمادہ کیا اور لوگ آمادہ نہ ہوئے تو یہ دعا فرمائی۔..
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَیُّمَا عَبْدٍ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ سَمِعَ مَقَالَتَنَا الْعَادِلَۃَ غَیْرَ الْجَآئِرَۃِ وَالْمُصْلِحَۃَ فِیْ الدِّیْنِ وَالدُّنْیَا غَیْرَ الْمُفْسِدَۃِ فَاَبٰی بَعْدَ سَمْعِهٖ لَهَا اِلَّا النُّكُوْصَ عَنْ نُصْرَتِكَ وَالْاِبْطَآئَ عَلٰی اِعْزَازِ دِیْنِكَ فَاِنَّا نَسْتَشْهِدُكَ عَلَیْهِ یَا اَكْبَرَ الشَّاهِدِیْنَ شَهَادَۃً وَنَسْتَشْهِدُ عَلَیْهِ جَمِیْعَ مَا اَسْكَنْتَهٗ اَرْضَكَ وَسَمٰوٰتَكَ ثُمَّ اَنْتَ بَعْدُ الْغَنِیُّ عَنْ نَصْرِهٖ وَالْاٰخِذُ لَهٗ بِذَنْۢبِهٖ۔
Allaahumma ayyumaa 'abdin min 'ibaadika sami'a maqaalatanaa al-'aadilata ghayra al-jaa'irati wal-muslihata fee ad-deeni wad-dunyaa ghayra al-mufsidati fa-abaa ba'da sam'ihee lahaa illaa an-nukoosa 'an nusratika wal-ibtaa'a 'alaa i'zaazi deenika fa-innaa nastashhiduka 'alayhi yaa akbara ash-shaahideena shahaadatan wanastashhidu 'alayhi jamee'a maa askantahoo ardaka wasamaawaataka thumma anta ba'du al-ghaniyyu 'an nasrihee wal-aakhizu lahoo bizanbih.
O Allah! I make You a witness against any of Your servants who hears our words, which are just and not unjust, and set right religion and the world and do not corrupt them, and who, after hearing them, refuses anything but turning back from helping You and slackness in honouring Your religion. O the greatest of all the witnesses and it is such a witness that I call upon the entire creation to witness whom You have settled on the earth and the Heavens. The witness that You are not in need of their help and due to their sins they will be dealt with severely.
خداوندا! تیرے بندوں میں جو بندہ بھی ہماری معتدل و غیر ظالمانہ دین و دنیا میں اصلاح کرنے والی غیر فسادی بات کو سن کر نہ مانے اور تیری امداد سے منہ پھرے یا تیرے دین کی مدد کرنے میں سستی کرے تو پھر میں اس کے خلاف تجھے گواہ بناتا ہوں، اے سب سے بڑے مشاہدہ کرنے والے اور یہ ایسی گواہی ہے جس میں ان تمام مخلوقات کو گواہ بناتا ہوں، جنہیں تو نے اپنی زمین و آسمان پر بسایا ہے۔ یہ گواہی کہ تو ان کی مدد سے بے پروا اور ان کی گنہگاری پر انہیں سختی سے گرفت میں لینے والا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allaahumma salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aali muhammad.
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آلؑ پر۔
