The time between dawn and sunrise is one of the blessed hours. Many traditions that are reported from the Ahl Bayt (a) have revealed the merits of this hour and encouraged on mentioning Almighty Allah, glorifying Him, and worshipping Him at this very time, which has been called by some narrations as the time of inadvertence.
اس فصل میں ان اعمال کا بیان ہے جو طلوعِ فجر سے طلوعِ آفتاب تک کے وقت سے تعلق رکھتے ہیں۔ جاننا چاہیے کہ طلوعِ فجر اور طلوعِ آفتاب کا درمیانی وقت مبارک اوقات میں سے ہے۔ اس وقت کی فضیلت اور اس میں عبادت اور ذکرِ الہٰی کرنے کی ترغیب و تشویق میں اہل بیتؑ سے بہت زیادہ روایات بیان ہوئی ہیں، بعض اخبار میں اس وقت کو غفلت کی ساعت کانام دیا گیا ہے۔
In this respect, Imam Baqir (a) is reported to have said, “Iblis (Satan), may Allah’s curses be poured on him, distributes his troops at sunset and sunrise. Therefore, mention Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, at these two times more than any other time. Seek Allah’s protection against the evils of Iblis and his troops, and seek Him to protect your children against Satan at these two times in particular, because these two times are times of inadvertence.”
جیسا کہ امام محمد باقرؑ سے نقل ہوا ہے : ابلیس ملعون دو وقتوں میں اپنے لشکروں کوپوری دنیا میں پھیلاتاہے وہ طلوعِ آفتاب اور غروبِ آفتاب کے اوقات ہیں۔ لہٰذا تم ان دو وقتوں میں خدا کو بہت یاد کیا کرو،ابلیس اور اس کے لشکروں کے شر سے پناہ طلب کرو اور ان اوقات میں اپنے بچّوں کو خدا کی امان میں قرار دیا کرو کہ یہ دونوں وقت غفلت کی ساعتیں ہیں۔
It is worth mentioning that to sleep at this time is discommended. In this regard, Imam Baqir (a) is also reported to have said, “Sleeping at the pre-sunrise hour is ill-omened; it dismisses sustenance and makes the face seem pale and lose its color. It is the sleep of all ill-omened ones. Verily, Allah the All-exalted distributes sustenance in the time between dawn and sunrise; therefore, beware of sleeping (at this time).”
یاد رکھو! ان دونوں وقتوں میں سونا مکروہ ہے۔ جیسا کہ امام باقرؑ ہی سے مروی ہے: صبح کے وقت سونامکروہ یعنی بدبختی اور نحوست ہے،اس وقت کا سونا رزق کو روکتا اور بدن کی رنگت کو زرد کر دیتا ہے اس وقت میں سونا بدقسمتی کا سبب ہے کیوں کہ حق تعالیٰ طلوعِ فجر سے طلوعِ آفتاب تک رزق تقسیم فرماتا ہے لہٰذا ایسے وقت میں سونے سے پرہیز کرو۔
Shaikh Tusi, in Misbah Mutahajjid, has mentioned the following supplicatory prayer to be said at the crack of dawn…
شیخ طوسیؒ نے مصباح میں نقل فرمایا ہے: صبح صادق کے نمودار ہونے کے وقت یہ دُعا پڑھی جائے۔۔۔
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَنْتَ صَاحِبُنَا فَصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِهٖ وَاَفْضِلْ عَلَيْنَا۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ بِنِعْمَتِكَ تَتِمُّ الصَّالِحَاتُ فَصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِهٖ وَاَتْمِمْهَا عَلَيْنَا عَآئِذًا بِاللهِ مِنَ النَّارِ عَآئِذًا بِاللهِ مِنَ النَّارِ عَآئِذًا بِاللهِ مِنَ النَّارِ۔
Allaahumma anta saahibunaa fasalli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aalihee wa-afdil 'alaynaa.
Allaahumma bini'matika tatimmu as-saalihaatu fasalli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aalihee wa-atmimhaa 'alaynaa 'aa'izan billaahi mina an-naari 'aa'izan billaahi mina an-naari 'aa'izan billaahi mina an-naar.
O Allah, You are our companion, so send blessings upon Muhammad and his family, and shower Your grace (bounty) upon us. O Allah, by Your blessing good deeds are brought to completion; so send blessings upon Muhammad and his family, and complete them for us. I seek refuge in Allah from the Fire. I seek refuge in Allah from the Fire. I seek refuge in Allah from the Fire.
اے معبود! تو ہمارا مالک ہے پس محمدؐ اور اُن کی آلؑ پررحمت فرما اور ہمیں بخش دے اے معبود!تیری نعمت سے نیکیوں کی تکمیل ہوتی ہے پس درود بھیج محمدؐ اور ان کی آلؑ پر اور ہمیں نعمتوں سے نواز،آتشِ جہنم سے خداکی پناہ،آتشِ جہنم سے خدا کی پناہ، آتشِ جہنم سے خدا کی پناہ۔
The following supplicatory prayer may be said thereafter…
پھر کہے۔۔۔
يَا فَالِقَهٗ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا اَرٰى وَمُخْرِجَهٗ مِنْ حَيْثُ اَرٰى صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِهٖ وَاجْعَلْ اَوَّلَ يَوْمِنَا هٰذَا صَلَاحًا وَّاَوْسَطَهٗ فَلَاحًا وَّآخِرَهٗ نَجَاحًا۔
Yaa faaliqahoo min haythu laa araa wamukhrijahoo min haythu araa salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aalihee waj'al awwala yawminaa haazaa salaahan wa-awsatahoo falaahan wa-aakhirahoo najaahaa.
O You who split it open from where I do not see, and bring it forth from where I do see send blessings upon Muhammad and his family, and make the beginning of this day righteousness, its middle prosperity (success), and its end triumph (successful completion).
اے صبح کی نمود(علامت) اس جگہ سے ایجاد کرنے والے جسے میں دیکھتا نہیں اور اس جگہ سے نکالنے والے جسے میں دیکھتا ہوں تو رحمت فرما محمدؐ اور ان کی آلؑ پر اور آج کے دن کے پہلے حصے کو ہمارے لئے بہتری والا درمیانی کو فائدے والا اور آخری حصے کو کامیابی والا بنا۔
The following supplicatory prayer may be repeated 10 times after that…
اس کے بعد دس مرتبہ کہے۔۔۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّىْ اُشْهِدُكَ اَنَّهٗ مَا اَصْبَحَ بِىْ مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ اَوْ عَافِيَةٍ فِىْ دِيْنٍ اَوْ دُنْيَا فَمِنْكَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَكَ، لَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَلَكَ الشُّكْرُ بِهَا عَلَىَّ حَتّٰى تَرْضٰی وَبَعْدَ الرِّضَا۔
Allaahumma innee ushhiduka annahoo maa asbaha bee min ni'matin aw 'aafiyatin fee deenin aw dunyaa faminka wahdaka laa shareeka laka, laka al-hamdu walaka ash-shukru bihaa 'alayya hattaa tardaa waba'da ar-ridaa.
O Allah, I call You to witness that whatever blessing or well-being I have come into this morning with whether in my religion or my worldly life is from You alone; You have no partner. For You is all praise, and for You is all thanks for it from me, until You are pleased and even after You are pleased.
اے معبود! میں تجھے گواہ بنا کر کہتا ہوں کہ مجھے صبح کے وقت دینی و دنیوی جو بھی نعمت و راحت ملتی ہے وہ تیری طرف سے ہے تو یکتا ہے تیرا کوئی شریک نہیں ہر نعمت و راحت پر تیری حمد و شکر کرنا مجھ پرواجب ہے، حتیٰ کہ تو راضی ہو جائے اور راضی رہے۔
Except for these supplicatory prayers, numerous supplicatory prayers have been reported to be said at this hour. However, the most favorable of these are the following statements that have been expressed in a tradition as Baqiyat salihat (The ever-abiding, good deeds)…
اس کے علاوہ اس وقت کے لئے کئی اذکار بیان ہوئے ہیں ان میں بہتر ذکر یہ ہے۔ اس ذکر کو باقیات الصالحات سے تعبیر کیا گیا ہے۔۔۔
سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلهِ وَلَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ اَكْبَرُ۔
Subhaana allaahi wal-hamdu lillaahi walaa ilaaha illaa allaahu wallaahu akbar.
All glory be to Allah, all praise be to Allah, there is no god save Allah, and Allah is the Greatest.
پاک ہے اﷲاور حمد اﷲہی کے لئے ہے اور اﷲکے سوا کوئی معبودنہیں اور اﷲبزرگ تر ہے۔
It is also recommended to say the following…
اس دعا کا پڑھنا بھی مناسب ہے۔۔۔
لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهٗ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهٗ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْيِيْ وَيُمِيْتُ، وَيُمِيْتُ وَيُحْيِيْ وَهُوَ حَيٌّ لَا يَمُوْتُ بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ وَهُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْٓءٍ قَدِيْرٌ۔
Laa ilaaha illaa allaahu wahdahoo laa shareeka lahoo lahu al-mulku walahu al-hamdu yuhyee wayumeetu, wayumeetu wayuhyee wahuwa hayyun laa yamootu biyadihi al-khayru wahuwa 'alaa kulli shay'in qadeer.
There is no god except Allah alone He has no partner. His is the dominion and His is all praise. He gives life and causes death; and He causes death and gives life. He is Living and never dies. In His hand is all good, and He has power over everything.
اﷲکے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں وہ یکتا ہے کوئی اس کا شریک نہیں حکومت اور حمد اسی کے لئے ہے وہ زندہ کرتا اور موت دیتا ہے اور موت دیتا اور زندہ کرتا ہے اور وہ ایسا زندہ ہے کہ جسے موت نہیں ہر نیکی اس کے اختیار میں ہے اور وہ ہر چیز پرقدرت رکھتا ہے۔
Once you hear the call to the Dawn Prayer (i.e Azaan), you may say the following…
جب صبح کی اذان سُنے تو کہے۔۔۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّىْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِاِقْبَالِ نَهَارِكَ وَاِدْبَارِ لَيْلِكَ وَحُضُوْرِ صَلَوَاتِكَ وَاَصْوَاتِ دُعَاتِكَ وَتَسْبِيْحِ مَلَآئِكَتِكَ اَنْ تُصَلِّىَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَاَنْ تَتُوْبَ عَلَىَّ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيْمُ۔
Allaahumma innee as'aluka bi-iqbaali nahaarika wa-idbaari laylika wahudoori salawaatika wa-aswaati du'aatika watasbeehi malaa'ikatika an tusalliya 'alaa muhammadin wa-aali muhammadin wa-an tatooba 'alayya innaka anta at-tawwaabu ar-raheem.
O Allah, I ask You by the coming of Your day and the passing of Your night, by the presence of Your prayer, and by the voices of those who call to You, and by the glorification (tasbih) of Your angels: send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and turn to me in mercy (accept my repentance). Indeed, You are the Ever-Accepting of repentance, the Most Merciful.
اے معبود! میں تجھ سے سوال کرتا ہوں تیرے دن کے آنے، تیری رات کے جانے اورتیری نماز کا وقت ہونے، تجھے پکارنے والی آوازوں اور تیرے فرشتوں کی تسبیح کے واسطے سے کہ تو رحمت نازل فرما محمدؐ اور ان کی آلؑ پر اور یہ کہ میری توبہ قبول کر کہ بے شک تو ہی توبہ قبول کرنے والا مہربان ہے۔
