Surah Ma’oon (107, 7 ayat)سورۂ ماعون

It opens with a question about the man who calls the judgment a lie, and identifies him by his conduct: he treats the orphan with harshness and does not urge others to feed the poor. Woe is then pronounced on the praying ones who are unmindful of their prayers, who do good to be seen, and who withhold the necessaries of life.

Daily Necessaries (Makki)

It is narrated from Imam Muhammad Baqir (a) that if a person recites this Surah in any of his prayers, then they will be accepted. The sins of those who recite this Surah are forgiven. If recited 100 times after the Fajr prayers, one remains safe until the next day’s Fajr time. Imam Jafar Sadiq (a) said that if a person recites Surah Ma’un 41 times every day, he and his family will remain free from being dependent on others for their sustenance. (It is recommended that salawaat should also be recited after the first and last 10 times).

امام باقرؑ فرماتے ہیں:جس نے واجب یا مستحب نماز میں سورۂ ماعون کی تلاوت کی خداوند عالم اس کی نماز اور روزہ قبول فرمائے گا اور دنیا کے بارے میں اس سے سوال نہیں ہوگا۔ (مجمع البیان،ج۱۰ص۴۵۴)

بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

اَرَئَيْتَ الَّذِيْ يُكَذِّبُ بِالدِّيْنِ

Ara'ayta allazee yukazzibu bid-deen

Have you considered him who calls the judgment a lie?

کیا تم نے اس شخص کو دیکھا ہے جو قیامت کو جھٹلاتا ہے۔

فَذٰلِكَ الَّذِيْ يَدُعُّ الْيَتِيْمَ

Fazaalika allazee yadu''u al-yateem

That is the one who treats the orphan with harshness

یہ وہی ہے جو یتیم کو دھکّے دیتا ہے۔

وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلٰى طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِيْنِ

Walaa yahuddu 'alaa ta'aami al-miskeen

And does not urge (others) to feed the poor.

اور کسی کو مسکین کے کھانے کے لئے تیار نہیں کرتا ہے۔

فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُصَلِّيْنَ

Fawaylun lilmusalleen

So woe to the praying ones

تو تباہی ہے ان نمازیوں کے لئے۔

اَلَّذِيْنَ هُمْ عَنْ صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُوْنَ

Allazeena hum 'an salaatihim saahoon

Who are unmindful of their prayers

جو اپنی نمازوں سے غافل رہتے ہیں۔

اَلَّذِيْنَ هُمْ يُرَآءُوْنَ

Allazeena hum yuraa'oon

Who do (good) to be seen

دکھانے کے لئے عمل کرتے ہیں۔

وَيَمْنَعُوْنَ الْمَاعُوْنَ

Wayamna'oona al-maa'oon

And withhold the necessaries of life.

اور معمولی ظروف بھی عاریت (کرایہ) پر دینے سے انکار کر دیتے ہیں۔

صَدَقَ اللهُ الْعَلِیُّ الْعَظِیْمُ۔

Sadaqa allaahu al-'aliyyu al-'azeem.

Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.

اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
