Daily Necessaries (Makki)

بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربا ن نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

اَرَئَيْتَ الَّذِيْ يُكَذِّبُ بِالدِّيْنِ

Ara ’aytal lazee yukazzibu biddeen.

Have you considered him who calls the judgment a lie?

کیا تم نے اس شخص کو دیکھا ہے جو قیامت کو جھٹلاتا ہے۔

فَذٰلِكَ الَّذِيْ يَدُعُّ الْيَتِيْمَ

Fazaalikal lazee yadu’ul-yateem.

That is the one who treats the orphan with harshness

یہ وہی ہے جو یتیم کو دھکّے دیتا ہے۔

وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلٰى طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِيْنِ

Wa la yahuddu ’alaa ta’aamil miskeen.

And does not urge (others) to feed the poor.

اور کسی کو مسکین کے کھانے کے لئے تیار نہیں کرتا ہے۔

فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُصَلِّيْنَ

Fa wailul-lil musalleen.

So woe to the praying ones

تو تباہی ہے ان نمازیوں کے لئے۔

اَلَّذِيْنَ هُمْ عَنْ صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُوْنَ

Allazeena hum ’an salaatihim saahoon.

Who are unmindful of their prayers

جو اپنی نمازوں سے غافل رہتے ہیں۔

اَلَّذِيْنَ هُمْ يُرَاۗءُوْنَ

Allazeena hum yuraaa’oon.

Who do (good) to be seen

دکھانے کے لئے عمل کرتے ہیں۔

وَيَمْنَعُوْنَ الْمَاعُوْنَ

Wa yamna’oonal maa’oon.

And withhold the necessaries of life.

اور معمولی ظروف بھی عاریت (کرایا) پر دینے سے انکار کر دتے ہیں۔

Sadaqallahul aliyyul azeem

Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.

اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
