Surah Lahab (111, 5 ayat)سورۂ مسد

Abu Lahab is named directly: perdition is called upon both his hands, and he will perish. His wealth and what he earns, the text says, will not avail him, and he shall soon burn in fire that flames. It closes on his wife, the bearer of fuel, with a halter of strongly twisted rope upon her neck.

Flame (Makki)

Imam Jafar Sadiq (a) advised that whenever a person recites this Surah, he should curse Abu Lahab because he mistreated the Holy Prophet (s) and showed disrespect to him. It is narrated that recitation of this Surah is good for relieving back pains and reciting it before sleeping keeps one safe in the night.

رسول اکرمؐ سے روایت ہے کہ میں امید کرتا ہوں کہ سورۂ مسد کی تلاوت کرنے والے اور ابولھب کو خدا ایک جگہ جمع نہیں کرے گا۔ (مجمع البیان،ج۱۰ص۴۷۴)

بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

تَبَّتْ يَدَآ اَبِيْ لَهَبٍ وَّتَبَّ

Tabbat yadaa abee lahabin watabb

Perdition overtake both hands of Abu Lahab, and he will perish.

ابو لہب کے ہاتھ ٹوٹ جائیں اور وہ ہلاک ہو جائے۔

مَآ اَغْنٰى عَنْهُ مَالُهٗ وَمَا كَسَبَ

Maa aghnaa 'anhu maaluhoo wamaa kasab

His wealth and what he earns will not avail him.

نہ اس کا مال ہی اس کے کام آیا اور نہ اس کا کمایا ہوا سامان ہی۔

سَيَصْلٰى نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ

Sayaslaa naaran zaata lahab

He shall soon burn in fire that flames

وہ عنقریب بھڑکتی ہوئی آگ میں داخل ہو گا۔

وَامْرَاَتُهٗ حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِ

Wamra'atuhoo hammaalata al-hatab

And his wife, the bearer of fuel

اور اس کی بیوی جو لکڑی ڈھونے والی ہے۔

فِيْ جِيْدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِّنْ مَّسَدٍ

Fee jeedihaa hablun min masad

Upon her neck a halter of strongly twisted rope.

اس کی گردن میں بٹی ہوئی رسی بندھی ہوئی ہے۔

صَدَقَ اللهُ الْعَلِیُّ الْعَظِیْمُ۔

Sadaqa allaahu al-'aliyyu al-'azeem.

Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.

اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
