Surah Kaafiroon (109, 6 ayat)

The text is framed as speech to be said aloud: Say, O unbelievers. What follows is a paired denial, stated twice over, that I do not serve what you serve, nor do you serve Him Whom I serve. It closes with a clean separation: you shall have your religion and I shall have my religion.

Disbelievers (Makki)

The Holy Prophet (s) said that reciting this Surah carries the reward of reciting a quarter of the Holy Qur’an. The recitation of this Surah drives away Shaitaan and keeps one safe from Shirk. It is also among the 5 Surahs that have been recommended to be recited during a journey, the others being Surah Nasr, Ikhlaas, Falaq and Naas. Reciting Surah Kaafiroon and Ikhlaas in waajib namaz is a means for forgiveness of sins for the reciter, his parents and his children. If a person dies after reciting this Surah, it is as if he has died a martyr. Recitation of this Surah before sleeping keeps one safe the whole night.

Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

Qul yaa ayyuhaa al-kaafiroon

Say: O unbelievers!

Laa a'budu maa ta'budoon

I do not serve that which you serve

Walaa antum 'aabidoona maa a'bud

Nor do you serve Him Whom I serve:

Walaa anaa 'aabidun maa 'abadttum

Nor am I going to serve that which you serve

Walaa antum 'aabidoona maa a'bud

Nor are you going to serve Him Whom I serve:

Lakum deenukum waliya deen

You shall have your religion and I shall have my religion.

Sadaqa allaahu al-'aliyyu al-'azeem.

Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.
