Surah Nuh (71, 28 ayat)سورۂ نوح

Nuh is sent to warn his people before a painful chastisement, and reports calling them night and day while they put their fingers in their ears and turn away in pride. He urges them to seek forgiveness, points to the seven heavens, the moon and the sun, and names the idols they refuse to leave. It ends with his plea for his parents and the believing men and women.

Prophet Noah (Makki)

The Holy Prophet (s) said that those who recite this Surah will get a reward equal to the number of people who believe in Prophet Nuh (a).Imam Jafar Sadiq (a) said that those who believe in Allah (s), His Prophet (s) and recite the Holy Qur’an, should never leave out Surah Nuh as they will gain a place among the favoured servants of Allah (s) by reciting it. He will get 3 places in Jannah instead of one and he will be given 200 houris. Any supplications made after reciting this Surah are quickly answered. The one who recites this Surah often will not die until he sees his place in Jannah.

امام صادقؑ نے فرمایا:جو شخص خدااورروزِ قیامت پر ایمان لائے کتابِ خدا کی تلاوت کرے سورۂ نوح کو ترک نہ کرے خداوندعالم اسے صابرشمار کرے گااور اس کی منزل نیکوکاروں کے ہمراہ ہوگی۔ (مجمع البیان،ج۱۰ص۱۳۰)

بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

اِنَّآ اَرْسَلْنَا نُوْحًا اِلٰى قَوْمِهٖٓ اَنْ اَنْذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ يَّاْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِيْمٌ

Innaa arsalnaa noohan ilaa qawmihee an anzir qawmaka min qabli an ya'tiyahum 'azaabun aleem

Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement.

بےشک ہم نے نوحؑ کو ان کی قوم کی طرف بھیجا کہ اپنی قوم کو درد ناک عذاب کے آنے سے پہلے ڈراؤ۔

قَالَ يٰقَوْمِ اِنِّيْ لَكُمْ نَذِيْرٌ مُّبِيْنٌ

Qaala yaa qawmi innee lakum nazeerun mubeen

He said: O my people! Surely I am a plain warner to you:

انہوں نے کہا اے قوم میں تمہارے لئے واضح طور پر ڈرانے والا ہوں۔

اَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللهَ وَاتَّقُوْهُ وَاَطِيْعُوْنِ

Ani u'budoo allaaha wattaqoohu wa-atee'oon

That you should serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him and obey me:

کہ اللہ کی عبادت کرو اس سے ڈرو اور میری اطاعت کرو۔

يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّنْ ذُنُوْبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى اِنَّ اَجَلَ اللهِ اِذَا جَآءَ لَا يُؤَخَّرُ لَوْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُوْنَ

Yaghfir lakum min zunoobikum wayu'akhkhirkum ilaa ajalin musamman inna ajala allaahi izaa jaa'a laa yu'akhkharu law kuntum ta'lamoon

He will forgive you some of your faults and grant you a delay to an appointed term; surely the term of Allah when it comes is not postponed; did you but know!

وہ تمہارے گناہوں کو بخش دے گا اور تمہیں ایک مقررہ وقت تک باقی رکھے گا اللہ کا مقررہ وقت جب آجائے گا تو وہ ٹالا نہیں جا سکتا ہے اگر تم کچھ جانتے ہو۔

قَالَ رَبِّ اِنِّيْ دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِيْ لَيْلًا وَّنَهَارًا

Qaala rabbi innee da'awtu qawmee laylan wanahaaraa

He said: O my Lord! surely I have called my people by night and by day!

انہوں نے کہا پروردگار میں نے اپنی قوم کو دن میں بھی بلایا اور رات میں بھی۔

فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَآئِيْٓ اِلَّا فِرَارًا

Falam yazid-hum du'aa'ee illaa firaaraa

But my call has only made them flee the more:

پھر بھی میری دعوت کا کوئی اثر سوائے اس کے نہ ہوا کہ انہوں نے فرار اختیار کیا۔

وَاِنِّيْ كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوْٓا اَصَابِعَهُمْ فِيْٓ اٰذَانِهِمْ وَاسْتَغْشَوْا ثِيَابَهُمْ وَاَصَرُّوْا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا اسْتِكْبَارًا

Wa-innee kullamaa da'awtuhum litaghfira lahum ja'aloo asaabi'ahum fee aazaanihim wastaghshaw thiyaabahum wa-asarroo wastakbaroo istikbaaraa

And whenever I have called them that Thou mayest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, cover themselves with their garments, and persist and are puffed up with pride:

اور میں نے جب بھی انہیں دعوت دی کہ تو انہیں معاف کر دے تو انہوں نے اپنی انگلیوں کو کانوں میں رکھ لیا اور اپنے کپڑے اوڑھ لئے اور اپنی بات پر اڑ گئے اور شدت سے اکڑے رہے۔

ثُمَّ اِنِّيْ دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارًا

Thumma innee da'awtuhum jihaaraa

Then surely I called to them aloud:

پھر میں نے ان کو علی الاعلان دعوت دی۔

ثُمَّ اِنِّيْٓ اَعْلَنْتُ لَهُمْ وَاَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ اِسْرَارًا

Thumma innee a'lantu lahum wa-asrartu lahum israaraa

Then surely I spoke to them in public and I spoke to them in secret:

پھر میں نے اعلان بھی کیا اور خفیہ طور سے بھی دعوت دی۔

فَقُلْتُ اسْتَغْفِرُوْا رَبَّكُمْ اِنَّهٗ كَانَ غَفَّارًا

Faqultu istaghfiroo rabbakum innahoo kaana ghaffaaraa

Then I said, Ask forgiveness of your Lord, surely He is the most Forgiving:

اور کہا کہ اپنے پروردگار سے استغفار کرو کہ وہ بہت زیادہ بخشنے والا ہے۔

يُرْسِلِ السَّمَآءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا

Yursili as-samaa'a 'alaykum midraaraa

He will send down upon you the cloud, pouring down abundance of rain:

وہ تم پر موسلا دھار پانی برسائے گا۔

وَيُمْدِدْكُمْ بِاَمْوَالٍ وَّبَنِيْنَ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ جَنّٰتٍ وَّيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ اَنْهٰرًا

Wayumdidkum bi-amwaalin wabaneena wayaj'al lakum jannaatin wayaj'al lakum anhaaraa

And help you with wealth and sons, and make for you gardens, and make for you rivers.

اور اموال و اولاد کے ذریعہ تمہاری مدد کرے گا اور تمہارے لئے باغات اور نہریں قرار دے گا۔

مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَرْجُوْنَ لِلهِ وَقَارًا

Maa lakum laa tarjoona lillaahi waqaaraa

What is the matter with you that you fear not the greatness of Allah?

آخر تمہیں کیا ہو گیا ہے کہ تم خدا کی عظمت کا خیال نہیں کرتے ہو۔

وَقَدْ خَلَقَكُمْ اَطْوَارًا

Waqad khalaqakum atwaaraa

And indeed He has created you through various grades:

جب کہ اسی نے تمہیں مختلف انداز میں پیدا کیا ہے

اَلَمْ تَرَوْا كَيْفَ خَلَقَ اللهُ سَبْعَ سَمٰوٰتٍ طِبَاقًا

Alam taraw kayfa khalaqa allaahu sab'a samaawaatin tibaaqaa

Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another

کیا تم نے نہیں دیکھا کہ خدا نے کس طرح تہ بہ تہ سات آسمان بنائے ہیں۔

وَجَعَلَ الْقَمَرَ فِيْهِنَّ نُوْرًا وَّجَعَلَ الشَّمْسَ سِرَاجًا

Waja'ala al-qamara feehinna nooran waja'ala ash-shamsa siraajaa

And made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp?

اور قمر کو ان میں روشنی اور سورج کو روشن چراغ بنایا ہے۔

وَاللهُ اَنْۢبَتَكُم مِّنَ الْاَرْضِ نَبَاتًا

Wallaahu anbatakum mina al-ardi nabaataa

And Allah has made you grow out of the earth as a growth:

اور اللہ ہی نے تم کو زمین سے پیدا کیا ہے۔

ثُمَّ يُعِيْدُكُمْ فِيْهَا وَيُخْرِجُكُمْ اِخْرَاجًا

Thumma yu'eedukum feehaa wayukhrijukum ikhraajaa

Then He returns you to it, then will He bring you forth a (new) bringing forth:

پھر تمہیں اسی میں لے جائے گا اور پھر نئی شکل میں نکالے گا۔

وَاللهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْاَرْضَ بِسَاطًا

Wallaahu ja'ala lakumu al-arda bisaataa

And Allah has made for you the earth a wide expanse

اور اللہ ہی نے تمہارے لئے زمین کو فرش بنا دیا ہے۔

لِتَسْلُكُوْا مِنْهَا سُبُلًا فِجَاجًا

Litaslukoo minhaa subulan fijaajaa

That you may go along therein in wide paths.

تاکہ تم اس میں مختلف کشادہ راستوں پر چلو۔

قَالَ نُوْحٌ رَّبِّ اِنَّهُمْ عَصَوْنِيْ وَاتَّبَعُوْا مَن لَّمْ يَزِدْهُ مَالُهٗ وَوَلَدُهٗٓ اِلَّا خَسَارًا

Qaala noohun rabbi innahum 'asawnee wattaba'oo man lam yazid-hu maaluhoo wawaladuhoo illaa khasaaraa

Nuh said: My Lord! surely they have disobeyed me and followed him whose wealth and children have added to him nothing but loss.

اور نوحؑ نے کہا کہ پروردگار ان لوگوں نے میری نافرمانی کی ہے اور اس کا اتباع کر لیا ہے جو مال و اولاد میں سوائے گھاٹے کے کچھ نہیں دے سکتا ہے۔

وَمَكَرُوْا مَكْرًا كُبَّارًا

Wamakaroo makran kubbaaraa

And they have planned a very great plan.

اور ان لوگوں نے بہت بڑا مکر کیا ہے۔

وَقَالُوْا لَا تَذَرُنَّ اٰلِهَتَكُمْ وَلَا تَذَرُنَّ وَدًّا وَّلَا سُوَاعًا وَّلَا يَغُوْثَ وَيَعُوْقَ وَنَسْرًا

Waqaaloo laa tazarunna aalihatakum walaa tazarunna waddan walaa suwaa'an walaa yaghootha waya'ooqa wanasraa

And they say: By no means leave your gods, nor leave Wadd, nor Suwa; nor Yaghus, and Yauq and Nasr.

اور لوگوں سے کہا ہے کہ خبردار اپنے خداؤں کو مت چھوڑ دینا اور ود، سواع، یغوث، یعوق، نسر کو نظرانداز نہ کر دینا۔

وَقَدْ اَضَلُّوْا كَثِيْرًا وَّلَا تَزِدِ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ اِلَّا ضَلٰلًا

Waqad adalloo katheeran walaa tazidi az-zaalimeena illaa dalaalaa

And indeed they have led astray many, and do not increase the unjust in aught but error.

انہوں نے بہت سوں کو گمراہ کر دیا ہے اب تو ظالموں کے لئے ضلالت کے علاوہ کوئی اضافہ نہ کرنا۔

مِمَّا خَطِيْٓئٰتِهِمْ اُغْرِقُوْا فَاُدْخِلُوْا نَارًا فَلَمْ يَجِدُوْا لَهُم مِّنْ دُوْنِ اللهِ اَنْصَارًا

Mimmaa khatee'aatihim ughriqoo fa-udkhiloo naaran falam yajidoo lahum min dooni allaahi ansaaraa

Because of their wrongs they were drowned, then made to enter fire, so they did not find any helpers besides Allah.

یہ سب اپنی غلطیوں کی بنا پر غرق کئے گئے ہیں اور پھر جہنّم میں داخل کر دیئے گئے ہیں اور خدا کے علاوہ انہیں کوئی مدد گار نہیں ملا ہے۔

وَقَالَ نُوْحٌ رَّبِّ لَا تَذَرْ عَلَى الْاَرْضِ مِنَ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ دَيَّارًا

Waqaala noohun rabbi laa tazar 'alaa al-ardi mina al-kaafireena dayyaaraa

And Nuh said: My Lord! leave not upon the land any dweller from among the unbelievers:

اور نوحؑ نے کہا کہ پروردگار اس زمین پر کافروں میں سے کسی بسنے والے کو نہ چھوڑنا۔

اِنَّكَ اِنْ تَذَرْهُمْ يُضِلُّوْا عِبَادَكَ وَلَا يَلِدُوْٓا اِلَّا فَاجِرًا كَفَّارًا

Innaka in tazarhum yudilloo 'ibaadaka walaa yalidoo illaa faajiran kaffaaraa

For surely if Thou leave them they will lead astray Thy servants, and will not beget any but immoral, ungrateful (children)

کہ اگر تو انہیں چھوڑ دے گا تو تیرے بندوں کو گمراہ کریں گے اور فاجر و کافر کے علاوہ کوئی اولاد بھی نہ پیدا کریں گے۔

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِيْ وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِمَنْ دَخَلَ بَيْتِيَ مُؤْمِنًا وَّلِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالْمُؤْمِنٰتِ وَلَا تَزِدِ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ اِلَّا تَبَارًا

Rabbi ighfir lee waliwaalidayya waliman dakhala baytiya mu'minan walilmu'mineena wal-mu'minaati walaa tazidi az-zaalimeena illaa tabaaraa

My Lord! forgive me and my parents and him who enters my house believing, and the believing men and the believing women; and do not increase the unjust in aught but destruction!

پروردگار مجھے اور میرے والدین کو اور جو ایمان کے ساتھ میرے گھر میں داخل ہو جائیں اور تمام مومنین و مومنات کو بخش دے اور ظالموں کے لئے ہلاکت کے علاوہ کسی شے میں اضافہ نہ کرنا۔

صَدَقَ اللهُ الْعَلِیُّ الْعَظِیْمُ۔

Sadaqa allaahu al-'aliyyu al-'azeem.

Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.

اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
