Surah Qiyaamah (75, 40 ayat)سورۂ قیامۃ

Swearing by the day of resurrection and the self-accusing soul, the text asks whether man thinks his bones will not be gathered. It pictures the sight dazed, the moon darkened and the sun and moon brought together. Some faces that day are bright, looking to their Lord, while others are gloomy; it closes by asking whether He who made man from a small seed cannot give life to the dead.

Resurrection (Makki)

It is narrated from the Holy Prophet (s) that the person who recites this Surah will be counted from among those who believed in the Day of Judgement and his face will be shining when he is raised from his grave. It is also narrated that frequent reciters will be raised with handsome and attractive faces on the Day of Judgement. Recitation of this Surah increases sustenance and protects the life and possessions of the reciter. He is liked by people. Surah Qiyaamah also makes a person chaste, humble and sincere. Drinking water in which this Surah has been written keeps the heart safe from ailments.

رسول اکرمؐ نے فرمایا:جس نے سورۂ قیامۃ کی تلاوت کی اس کے لئے میں اور جبرئیل دونوں گواہی دیں گے کہ روزِ قیامت وہ مؤمن ہوگااس کا چہرہ تمام خلائق سے زیادہ منوّر ہوگا۔ (مجمع البیان،ج۱۰ص۱۹۰)

بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

لَآ اُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ الْقِيٰمَةِ

Laa uqsimu biyawmi al-qiyaamah

Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection.

میں روزِ قیامت کی قسم کھاتا ہوں۔

وَلَآ اُقْسِمُ بِالنَّفْسِ اللَّوَّامَةِ

Walaa uqsimu bin-nafsi al-lawwaamah

Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul.

اور برائیوں پر ملامت کرنے والے نفس کی قسم کھاتا ہوں۔

اَيَحْسَبُ الْاِنْسَانُ اَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهٗ

Ayahsabu al-insaanu allan najma'a 'izaamah

Does man think that We shall not gather his bones?

کیا یہ انسان یہ خیال کرتا ہے کہ ہم اس کی ہڈیوں کو جمع نہ کر سکیں گے۔

بَلٰى قٰدِرِيْنَ عَلٰٓى اَن نُّسَوِّيَ بَنَانَهٗ

Balaa qaadireena 'alaa an nusawwiya banaanah

Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips

یقینًا ہم اس بات پر قادر ہیں کہ اس کی انگلیوں کے پور تک درست کر سکیں۔

بَلْ يُرِيْدُ الْاِنْسَانُ لِيَفْجُرَ اَمَامَهٗ

Bal yureedu al-insaanu liyafjura amaamah

Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him.

بلکہ انسان یہ چاہتا ہے کہ اپنے سامنے برائی کرتا چلا جائے۔

يَسْئَلُ اَيَّانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيٰمَةِ

Yas'alu ayyaana yawmu al-qiyaamah

He asks: When is the day of resurrection?

وہ یہ پوچھتا ہے کہ یہ قیامت کب آنے والی ہے۔

فَاِذَا بَرِقَ الْبَصَرُ

Fa-izaa bariqa al-basar

So when the sight becomes dazed

تو جب آنکھیں چکا چوند ہو جائیں گی۔

وَخَسَفَ الْقَمَرُ

Wakhasafa al-qamar

And the moon becomes dark

اور چاند کو گہن لگ جائے گا۔

وَجُمِعَ الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ

Wajumi'a ash-shamsu wal-qamar

And the sun and the moon are brought together

اور یہ چاند سورج اکٹھا کر دیئے جائیں گے۔

يَقُوْلُ الْاِنْسَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ اَيْنَ الْمَفَرُّ

Yaqoolu al-insaanu yawma'izin ayna al-mafarr

Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to?

اس دن انسان کہے گا کہ اب بھاگنے کا راستہ کدھر ہے۔

كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ

Kallaa laa wazar

By no means! there shall be no place of refuge!

ہرگز نہیں اب کوئی ٹھکانہ نہیں ہے۔

اِلٰى رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذِ الْمُسْتَقَرُّ

Ilaa rabbika yawma'izi al-mustaqarr

With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest.

اب سب کا مرکز تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف ہے۔

يُنَبَّؤُ الْاِنْسَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَاَخَّرَ

Yunabba'u al-insaanu yawma'izin bimaa qaddama wa-akhkhar

Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off.

اس دن انسان کو بتایا جائے گا کہ اس نے پہلے اور بعد کیا کیا اعمال کئے ہیں۔

بَلِ الْاِنْسَانُ عَلٰى نَفْسِهٖ بَصِيْرَةٌ

Bali al-insaanu 'alaa nafsihee baseerah

Nay! man is evidence against himself

بلکہ انسان خود بھی اپنے نفس کے حالات سے خوب باخبر ہے۔

وَلَوْ اَلْقٰى مَعَاذِيْرَهٗ

Walaw al-qaa ma'aazeerah

Though he puts forth his excuses.

چاہے وہ کتنے ہی عذر کیوں نہ پیش کرے۔

لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهٖ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهٖ

Laa tuharrik bihee lisaanaka lita'jala bih

Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it

دیکھئے آپ قرآن کی تلاوت میں عجلت کے ساتھ زبان کو حرکت نہ دیں۔

اِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهٗ وَقُرْاٰنَهٗ

Inna 'alaynaa jam'ahoo waqur'aanah

Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it.

یہ ہماری ذمہ داری ہے کہ ہم اسے جمع کریں اور پڑھوائیں۔

فَاِذَا قَرَاْنٰهُ فَاتَّبِعْ قُرْاٰنَهٗ

Fa-izaa qara'naahu fattabi' qur'aanah

Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation.

پھر جب ہم پڑھوا دیں تو آپ اس کی تلاوت کو دہرائیں۔

ثُمَّ اِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهٗ

Thumma inna 'alaynaa bayaanah

Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it.

پھر اس کے بعد اس کی وضاحت کرنا بھی ہماری ہی ذمہ داری ہے۔

كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّوْنَ الْعَاجِلَةَ

Kallaa bal tuhibboona al-'aajilah

Nay! But you love the present life

نہیں بلکہ تم لوگ دنیا کو دوست رکھتے ہو۔

وَتَذَرُوْنَ الْاٰخِرَةَ

Watazaroona al-aakhirah

And neglect the hereafter.

اور آخرت کو نظر انداز کئے ہوئے ہو۔

وُجُوْهٌ يَّوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ

Wujoohun yawma'izin naadirah

(Some) faces on that day shall be bright

اس دن بعض چہرے شاداب ہوں گے۔

اِلٰى رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ

Ilaa rabbihaa naazirah

Looking to their Lord.

اپنے پروردگار کی نعمتوں پر نظر رکھے ہوئے ہوں گے۔

وَوُجُوْهٌ يَّوْمَئِذٍۢ بَاسِرَةٌ

Wawujoohun yawma'izin baasirah

And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy

اور بعض چہرے افسردہ ہوں گے۔

تَظُنُّ اَنْ يُّفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ

Tazunnu an yuf'ala bihaa faaqirah

Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity.

جنہیں یہ خیال ہو گا کہ کب کمر توڑ مصیبت وارد ہو جائے۔

كَلَّآ اِذَا بَلَغَتِ التَّرَاقِيَ

Kallaa izaa balaghati at-taraaqee

Nay! When it comes up to the throat

ہوشیار جب جان گردن تک پہنچ جائے گی۔

وَقِيْلَ مَنْ رَاقٍ

Waqeela man raaq

And it is said: Who will be a magician?

اور کہا جائے گا کہ اب کون جھاڑ پھونک کرنے والا ہے۔

وَظَنَّ اَنَّهُ الْفِرَاقُ

Wazanna annahu al-firaaq

And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting

اور مرنے والے کو خیال ہو گا کہ اب سب سے جدائی ہے۔

وَالْتَفَّتِ السَّاقُ بِالسَّاقِ

Waltaffati as-saaqu bis-saaq

And affliction is combined with affliction;

اور پنڈلی پنڈلی سے لپٹ جائے گی۔

اِلٰى رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذِ الْمَسَاقُ

Ilaa rabbika yawma'izi al-masaaq

To your Lord on that day shall be the driving.

آج سب کو پروردگار کی طرف لے جایا جائے گا۔

فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلّٰى

Falaa saddaqa walaa sallaa

So he did not accept the truth, nor did he pray

اس نے نہ کلامِ خدا کی تصدیق کی اور نہ نماز پڑھی۔

وَلٰكِنْ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلّٰى

Walaakin kazzaba watawallaa

But called the truth a lie and turned back

بلکہ تکذیب کی اور منہ پھیر لیا۔

ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ اِلٰٓى اَهْلِهٖ يَتَمَطّٰى

Thumma zahaba ilaa ahlihee yatamattaa

Then he went to his followers, walking away in haughtiness.

پھر اپنے اہل کی طرف اکڑتا ہوا گیا۔

اَوْلٰى لَكَ فَاَوْلٰى

Awlaa laka fa-awlaa

Nearer to you (is destruction) and nearer

افسوس ہے تیرے حال پر بہت افسوس ہے۔

ثُمَّ اَوْلٰى لَكَ فَاَوْلٰى

Thumma awlaa laka fa-awlaa

Again (consider how) nearer to you and nearer.

حیف ہے اور صد حیف ہے۔

اَيَحْسَبُ الْاِنْسَانُ اَنْ يُّتْرَكَ سُدًى

Ayahsabu al-insaanu an yutraka sudaa

Does man think that he is to be left to wander without an aim?

کیا انسان کا خیال یہ ہے کہ اسے اسی طرح آزاد چھوڑ دیا جائے گا۔

اَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّن مَّنِيٍّ يُّمْنٰى

Alam yaku nutfatan min maniyyin yumnaa

Was he not a small seed in the seminal elements

کیا وہ اس منی کا قطرہ نہیں تھا جسے رحم میں ڈالا جاتا ہے۔

ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوّٰى

Thumma kaana 'alaqatan fakhalaqa fasawwaa

Then he was a clot of blood, so He created (him) then made (him) perfect.

پھر علقہ بنا پھر اسے خلق کر کے برابر کیا۔

فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ الزَّوْجَيْنِ الذَّكَرَ وَالْاُنْثٰى

Faja'ala minhu az-zawjayni az-zakara wal-unthaa

Then He made of him two kinds, the male and the female.

پھر اس سے عورت اور مرد کا جوڑا تیار کیا۔

اَلَيْسَ ذٰلِكَ بِقٰدِرٍ عَلٰٓى اَنْ يُّحْيِۦَ الْمَوْتٰى

Alaysa zaalika biqaadirin 'alaa an yuhyi al-mawtaa

Is not He able to give life to the dead?

کیا وہ خدا اس بات پر قادر نہیں ہے کہ مردوں کو دوبارہ زندہ کر سکے۔

صَدَقَ اللهُ الْعَلِیُّ الْعَظِیْمُ۔

Sadaqa allaahu al-'aliyyu al-'azeem.

Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.

اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
