Surah Mursalaat (77, 50 ayat)سورۂ مرسلات

Oaths by the emissary winds and the angels who bring down the revelation open the surah, and it declares that what is threatened must come to pass. The stars lose their light, the heaven is rent and the mountains are carried away as dust before the day of decision, while the refrain, woe on that day to the rejecters, returns throughout. Those who guard against evil are amid shades and fountains.

Sent Forth (Makki)

The Holy Prophet (s) has said that the one who recites this Surah will not be counted from the mushrikeen (polytheists). He will always be victorious over his enemy. It is narrated from Imam Jafar Sadiq (a) that drinking this Surah after it is written, and then dissolved in water that is mixed with the water from an onion, acts as a cure from aches and pains. Keeping this Surah, written on deer skin, as a talisman, enables one to reduce the amount of time he sleeps and he will be able to stay awake for a longer time.

امام صادقؑ نے فرمایا:جوشخص سورۂ مرسلات کی تلاوت کرے گا خداوند عالم اسے حضرت محمدؐ کے ساتھ محشور کرے گا۔ (مجمع البیان،ج۱۰ص۲۲۷)

بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

وَالْمُرْسَلٰتِ عُرْفًا

Wal-mursalaati 'urfaa

I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men’s benefit)

ان کی قسم جنہیں تسلسل کے ساتھ بھیجا گیا ہے۔

فَالْعٰصِفٰتِ عَصْفًا

Fal-'aasifaati 'asfaa

By the raging hurricanes

پھر تیز رفتاری سے چلنے والی ہیں۔

وَالنّٰشِرٰتِ نَشْرًا

Wan-naashiraati nashraa

Which scatter clouds to their destined places

اور قسم ہے ان کی جو اشیاء کو منتشر کرنے والی ہیں۔

فَالْفٰرِقٰتِ فَرْقًا

Fal-faariqaati farqaa

Then separate them one from another

پھر انہیں آپس میں جدا کرنے والی ہیں۔

فَالْمُلْقِيٰتِ ذِكْرًا

Fal-mulqiyaati zikraa

Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation

پھر ذکر کو نازل کرنے والی ہیں۔

عُذْرًا اَوْ نُذْرًا

'Uzran aw nuzraa

To clear or to warn.

تاکہ عذر تمام ہو یا خوف پیدا کرایا جائے۔

اِنَّمَا تُوْعَدُوْنَ لَوَاقِعٌ

Innamaa too'adoona lawaaqi'

Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass.

جس چیز کا تم سے وعدہ کیا گیا ہے وہ بہرحال واقع ہونے والی ہے۔

فَاِذَا النُّجُوْمُ طُمِسَتْ

Fa-izaa an-nujoomu tumisat

So when the stars are made to lose their light

پھر جب ستاروں کی چمک ختم ہو جائے۔

وَاِذَا السَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتْ

Wa-izaa as-samaa'u furijat

And when the heaven is rent asunder

اور جب آسمانوں میں شگاف پیدا ہو جائے۔

وَاِذَا الْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ

Wa-izaa al-jibaalu nusifat

And when the mountains are carried away as dust

اور جب پہاڑ اُڑنے لگیں۔

وَاِذَا الرُّسُلُ اُقِّتَتْ

Wa-izaa ar-rusulu uqqitat

And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time

اور جب سارے پیغمبر ایک وقت میں جمع کر لئے جائیں۔

لِاَيِّ يَوْمٍ اُجِّلَتْ

Li-ayyi yawmin ujjilat

To what day is the doom fixed?

بھلا کس دن کے لئے ان باتوں میں تاخیر کی گئی ہے۔

لِيَوْمِ الْفَصْلِ

Liyawmi al-fasl

To the day of decision.

فیصلہ کے دن کے لئے۔

وَمَآ اَدْرٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ

Wamaa adraaka maa yawmu al-fasl

And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is?

اور آپ کیا جانیں کہ فیصلہ کا دن کیا ہے۔

وَيْلٌ يَّوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ

Waylun yawma'izin lilmukazzibeen

Woe on that day to the rejecters.

اس دن جھٹلانے والوں کے لئے جہنّم ہے۔

اَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ

Alam nuhliki al-awwaleen

Did We not destroy the former generations?

کیا ہم نے ان کے پہلے والوں کو ہلاک نہیں کر دیا ہے۔

ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ الْاٰخِرِيْنَ

Thumma nutbi'uhumu al-aakhireen

Then did We follow them up with later ones.

پھر دوسرے لوگوں کو بھی ان ہی کے پیچھے لگا دیں گے۔

كَذٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمِيْنَ

Kazaalika naf'alu bil-mujrimeen

Even thus shall We deal with the guilty.

ہم مجرموں کے ساتھ اسی طرح کا برتاؤ کرتے ہیں۔

وَيْلٌ يَّوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ

Waylun yawma'izin lilmukazzibeen

Woe on that day to the rejecters.

اور آج کے دن جھٹلانے والوں کے لئے بربادی ہی بربادی ہے۔

اَلَمْ نَخْلُقكُّم مِّن مَّآءٍ مَّهِيْنٍ

Alam nakhluqkkum min maa'in maheen

Did We not create you from contemptible water?

کیا ہم نے تم کو ایک حقیر پانی سے نہیں پیدا کیا ہے۔

فَجَعَلْنٰهُ فِيْ قَرَارٍ مَّكِيْنٍ

Faja'alnaahu fee qaraarin makeen

Then We placed it in a secure resting-place

پھر اسے ایک محفوظ مقام پر قرار دیا ہے۔

اِلٰى قَدَرٍ مَّعْلُوْمٍ

Ilaa qadarin ma'loom

Till an appointed term

ایک معین مقدار تک۔

فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ الْقٰدِرُوْنَ

Faqadarnaa fani'ma al-qaadiroon

So We proportion it- how well are We at proportioning (things).

پھر ہم نے اس کی مقدار معین کی ہے تو ہم بہترین مقدار مقرر کرنے والے ہیں۔

وَيْلٌ يَّوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ

Waylun yawma'izin lilmukazzibeen

Woe on that day to the rejecters.

آج کے دن جھٹلانے والوں کے لئے بربادی ہے۔

اَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْاَرْضَ كِفَاتًا

Alam naj'ali al-arda kifaataa

Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself

کیا ہم نے زمین کو ایک جمع کرنے والا ظرف نہیں بنایا ہے۔

اَحْيَآءً وَّاَمْوَاتًا

Ahyaa'an wa-amwaataa

The living and the dead

جس میں زندہ مردہ سب کو جمع کریں گے۔

وَجَعَلْنَا فِيْهَا رَوَاسِيَ شٰمِخٰتٍ وَّاَسْقَيْنٰكُم مَّآءً فُرَاتًا

Waja'alnaa feehaa rawaasiya shaamikhaatin wa-asqaynaakum maa'an furaataa

And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water?

اور اس میں اونچے اونچے پہاڑ قرار دئے ہیں اور تمہیں شیریں پانی سے سیراب کیا ہے۔

وَيْلٌ يَّوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ

Waylun yawma'izin lilmukazzibeen

Woe on that day to the rejecters.

آج جھٹلانے والوں کے لئے بربادی اور تباہی ہے۔

اِنْطَلِقُوْٓا اِلٰى مَا كُنْتُمْ بِهٖ تُكَذِّبُوْنَ

Intaliqoo ilaa maa kuntum bihee tukazziboon

Walk on to that which you called a lie.

جاؤ اس طرف جس کی تکذیب کیا کرتے تھے۔

اِنْطَلِقُوْٓا اِلٰى ظِلٍّ ذِيْ ثَلٰثِ شُعَبٍ

Intaliqoo ilaa zillin zee thalaathi shu'ab

Walk on to the covering having three branches

جاؤ اس دھوئیں کے سایہ کی طرف جس کے تین گوشے ہیں۔

لَا ظَلِيْلٍ وَّلَا يُغْنِيْ مِنَ اللَّهَبِ

Laa zaleelin walaa yughnee mina al-lahab

Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame.

نہ ٹھنڈک ہے اور نہ جہنّم کی لپٹ سے بچانے والا سہارا۔

اِنَّهَا تَرْمِيْ بِشَرَرٍ كَالْقَصْرِ

Innahaa tarmee bishararin kal-qasr

Surely it sends up sparks like palaces

وہ ایسے انگارے پھینک رہا ہے جیسے کوئی محل۔

كَاَنَّهٗ جِمٰلَتٌ صُفْرٌ

Ka-annahoo jimaalatun sufr

As if they were tawny camels.

جیسے زرد رنگ کے اونٹ۔

وَيْلٌ يَّوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ

Waylun yawma'izin lilmukazzibeen

Woe on that day to the rejecters.

آج کے دن جھٹلانے والوں کے لئے بربادی اور جہنّم ہے۔

هٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنْطِقُوْنَ

Haazaa yawmu laa yantiqoon

This is the day on which they shall not speak

آج کے دن یہ لوگ بات بھی نہ کر سکیں گے۔

وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُوْنَ

Walaa yu'zanu lahum faya'taziroon

And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses.

اور نہ انہیں اس بات کی اجازت ہو گی کہ عذر پیش کر سکیں۔

وَيْلٌ يَّوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ

Waylun yawma'izin lilmukazzibeen

Woe on that day to the rejecters.

آج کے دن جھٹلانے والوں کے لئے جہنّم ہے۔

هٰذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ جَمَعْنٰكُمْ وَالْاَوَّلِيْنَ

Haazaa yawmu al-fasli jama'naakum wal-awwaleen

This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore.

یہ فیصلہ کا دن ہے جس میں ہم نے تم کو اور تمام پہلے والوں کو اکٹھا کیا ہے۔

فَاِنْ كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌ فَكِيْدُوْنِ

Fa-in kaana lakum kaydun fakeedoon

So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now).

اب اگر تمہارے پاس کوئی چال ہو تو ہم سے استعمال کرو۔

وَيْلٌ يَّوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ

Waylun yawma'izin lilmukazzibeen

Woe on that day to the rejecters.

آج تکذیب کرنے والوں کے لئے جہنّم ہے۔

اِنَّ الْمُتَّقِيْنَ فِيْ ظِلٰلٍ وَّعُيُوْنٍ

Inna al-muttaqeena fee zilaalin wa'uyoon

Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be amid shades and fountains

بےشک متقین گھنی چھاؤں اور چشموں کے درمیان ہوں گے۔

وَفَوَاكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُوْنَ

Wafawaakiha mimmaa yashtahoon

And fruits such as they desire.

اور ان کی خواہش کے مطابق میوے ہوں گے۔

كُلُوْا وَاشْرَبُوْا هَنِيْٓئًۢا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ

Kuloo washraboo hanee'an bimaa kuntum ta'maloon

Eat and drink pleasantly because of what you did.

اب اطمینان سے کھاؤ پیو ان اعمال کی بنا پر جو تم نے انجام دیئے ہیں۔

اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِيْنَ

Innaa kazaalika najzee al-muhsineen

Surely thus do We reward the doers of good.

ہم اسی طرح نیک عمل کرنے والوں کو بدلہ دیتے ہیں۔

وَيْلٌ يَّوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ

Waylun yawma'izin lilmukazzibeen

Woe on that day to the rejecters.

آج جھٹلانے والوں کے لئے جہنّم ہے۔

كُلُوْا وَتَمَتَّعُوْا قَلِيْلًا اِنَّكُم مُّجْرِمُوْنَ

Kuloo watamatta'oo qaleelan innakum mujrimoon

Eat and enjoy yourselves for a little; surely you are guilty.

تم لوگ تھوڑے دنوں کھاؤ اور آرام کر لو کہ تم مجرم ہو۔

وَيْلٌ يَّوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ

Waylun yawma'izin lilmukazzibeen

Woe on that day to the rejecters.

آج کے دن تکذیب کرنے والوں کے لئے ویل ہے۔

وَاِذَا قِيْلَ لَهُمُ ارْكَعُوْا لَا يَرْكَعُوْنَ

Wa-izaa qeela lahumu irka'oo laa yarka'oon

And when it is said to them: Bow down, they do not bow down.

اور جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ رکوع کرو تو نہیں کرتے ہیں۔

وَيْلٌ يَّوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ

Waylun yawma'izin lilmukazzibeen

Woe on that day to the rejecters.

تو آج کے دن جھٹلانے والوں کے لئے جہنّم ہے۔

فَبِاَيِّ حَدِيْثٍۢ بَعْدَهٗ يُؤْمِنُوْنَ

Fabi-ayyi hadeethin ba'dahoo yu'minoon

In what announcement, then, after it, will they believe?

آخر یہ لوگ اس کے بعد کس بات پر ایمان لے آئیں گے۔

صَدَقَ اللهُ الْعَلِیُّ الْعَظِیْمُ۔

Sadaqa allaahu al-'aliyyu al-'azeem.

Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.

اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
