Surah Burooj (85, 22 ayat)سورۂ بروج

The makers of the pit are condemned — they sat by a fuelled fire and watched what they did to believers whose only offence was belief in Allah. Oaths by the mansions of the stars and the promised day precede it. It names Him the Forgiving, the Loving, Lord of the Arsh, recalls the hosts of Firon and Samood, and closes calling this a glorious Quran in a guarded tablet.

Celestial Stations (Makki)

It is narrated from the Holy Prophet (s) that the one who recites this Surah will be near the Prophets and Messengers on the Day of Judgement. The reward for reciting this Surah is 10 times the number of people who gather on the plains of Arafah. Reciting this Surah saves one from dangers and if recited before sleeping, one is kept under the protection of Allah (s) for the whole night. When trying to wean a baby (stop it from breastfeeding and start eating solid foods), this Surah should be written and tied as a talisman around the baby’s neck.

امام صادقؑ نے فرمایا:سورۂ بروج سورۂ انبیاء ہے پس نماز میں اس کی تلاوت کرنے والا انبیاءومرسلین وصالحین کے ساتھ محشور ہوگا۔ (مجمع البیان،ج۱۰ ص۳۱۱)

بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

وَالسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوْجِ

Was-samaa'i zaati al-burooj

I swear by the mansions of the stars

برجوں والے آسمان کی قسم۔

وَالْيَوْمِ الْمَوْعُوْدِ

Wal-yawmi al-maw'ood

And the promised day

اور اس دن کی قسم جس کا وعدہ دیا گیا ہے۔

وَشَاهِدٍ وَّمَشْهُوْدٍ

Washaahidin wamashhood

And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne.

اور گواہ اور جس کی گواہی دی جائے گی اس کی قسم۔

قُتِلَ اَصْحٰبُ الْاُخْدُوْدِ

Qutila ashaabu al-ukhdood

Cursed be the makers of the pit

اصحابِ اُخدود ( جہنّم کی خندقوں والے) ہلاک کر دیئے گئے۔

اَلنَّارِ ذَاتِ الْوَقُوْدِ

An-naari zaati al-waqood

Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel

آگ سے بھری ہوئی خندقوں والے۔

اِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُوْدٌ

Iz hum 'alayhaa qu'ood

When they sat by it

جب وہ اس کے کنارے بیٹھے ہوئے تھے۔

وَهُمْ عَلٰى مَا يَفْعَلُوْنَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ شُهُوْدٌ

Wahum 'alaa maa yaf'aloona bil-mu'mineena shuhood

And they were witnesses of what they did with the believers.

اور وہ مومنین کے ساتھ جو سلوک کر رہے تھے خود ہی اس کے گواہ بھی ہیں۔

وَمَا نَقَمُوْا مِنْهُمْ اِلَّآ اَنْ يُّؤْمِنُوْا بِاللهِ الْعَزِيْزِ الْحَمِيْدِ

Wamaa naqamoo minhum illaa an yu'minoo billaahi al-'azeezi al-hameed

And they did not take vengeance on them for aught except that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praised

اور انہوں نے ان سے صرف اس بات کا بدلہ لیا ہے کہ وہ خدائے عزیز و حمید پر ایمان لائے تھے۔

اَلَّذِيْ لَهٗ مُلْكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَاللهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيْدٌ

Allazee lahoo mulku as-samaawaati wal-ardi wallaahu 'alaa kulli shay'in shaheed

Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness of all things.

وہ خدا جس کے اختیار میں آسمان و زمین کا سارا ملک ہے اور وہ ہر شے کا گواہ اور نگراں بھی ہے۔

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ فَتَنُوا الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالْمُؤْمِنٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوْبُوْا فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ الْحَرِيْقِ

Inna allazeena fatanoo al-mu'mineena wal-mu'minaati thumma lam yatooboo falahum 'azaabu jahannama walahum 'azaabu al-hareeq

Surely (as for) those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent, they shall have the chastisement of hell, and they shall have the chastisement of burning.

بے شک جن لوگوں نے ایماندار مردوں اور عورتوں کو ستایا اور پھر توبہ نہ کی ان کے لئے جہنّم کا عذاب ہے اور ان کے لئے جلنے کا عذاب بھی ہے۔

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنّٰتٌ تَجْرِيْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ ذٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْكَبِيْرُ

Inna allazeena aamanoo wa'amiloo as-saalihaati lahum jannaatun tajree min tahtihaa al-anhaaru zaalika al-fawzu al-kabeer

Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement.

بے شک جو لوگ ایمان لے آئے اور انہوں نے نیک اعمال کئے ان کے لئے وہ جنّتیں ہیں جن کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہوں گی اور یہ بہت بڑی کامیابی ہے۔

اِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيْدٌ

Inna batsha rabbika lashadeed

Surely the might of your Lord is great.

بے شک آپ کے پروردگار کی پکڑ بہت سخت ہوتی ہے۔

اِنَّهٗ هُوَ يُبْدِیُٔ وَيُعِيْدُ

Innahoo huwa yubdi'u wayu'eed

Surely He it is Who originates and reproduces

وہی پیدا کرنے والا اور دوبارہ ایجاد کرنے والا ہے۔

وَهُوَ الْغَفُوْرُ الْوَدُوْدُ

Wahuwa al-ghafooru al-wadood

And He is the Forgiving, the Loving

وہی بہت بخشنے والا اور محبت کرنے والا ہے۔

ذُو الْعَرْشِ الْمَجِيْدُ

Zoo al-'arshi al-majeed

Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious

وہ صاحب عرشِ مجید ہے۔

فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيْدُ

Fa''aalun limaa yureed

The great doer of what He will.

جو چاہتا ہے کر سکتا ہے۔

هَلْ اَتٰكَ حَدِيْثُ الْجُنُوْدِ

Hal ataaka hadeethu al-junood

Has not there come to you the story of the hosts

کیا تمہارے پاس لشکروں کی خبر آئی ہے۔

فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُوْدَ

Fir'awna wathamood

Of Firon and Samood?

فرعون اور قومِ ثمود کی خبر۔

بَلِ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا فِيْ تَكْذِيْبٍ

Bali allazeena kafaroo fee takzeeb

Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth.

مگر کفّار تو صرف جھٹلانے میں پڑے ہوئے ہیں۔

وَاللهُ مِنْ وَّرَآئِهِم مُّحِيْطٌ

Wallaahu min waraa'ihim muheet

And Allah encompasses them on every side.

اور اللہ ان کو پیچھے سے گھیرے ہوئے ہے۔

بَلْ هُوَ قُرْاٰنٌ مَّجِيْدٌ

Bal huwa qur'aanun majeed

Nay! it is a glorious Quran

یقینًا یہ بزرگ و برتر قرآن ہے۔

فِيْ لَوْحٍ مَّحْفُوْظٍ

Fee lawhin mahfooz

In a guarded tablet.

جو لوحِ محفوظ میں محفوظ کیا گیا ہے۔

صَدَقَ اللهُ الْعَلِیُّ الْعَظِیْمُ۔

Sadaqa allaahu al-'aliyyu al-'azeem.

Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.

اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
