Surah Aala (87, 19 ayat)سورۂ اعلیٰ

It opens as a command to glorify the name of the Lord Most High, who creates and completes, measures and guides, and brings out herbage that He then dries to dust. A promise of unforgotten recitation follows, then the instruction to remind. The close contrasts a preference for this world with the lasting hereafter and points back to the scriptures of Ibrahim and Musa.

Most High (Makki)

It is narrated that the reciter of this Surah will get the reward equal to 10 times the number of letters in the divine books that were revealed to the Holy Prophet (s), Prophet Ibrahim (a) and Prophet Musa (a). It is also said that in the hereafter, he will be told to enter Jannah through whichever door he pleases. Imam Ali (a) used to recite this Surah often in his waajib namaz. Surah Aala is also good for relieving ear pains and other ailments.

رسول اکرمؐ نے فرمایا:جس نے سورۂ اعلیٰ کی تلاوت کی خداوندعالم اسے حضرت محمدؐ،حضرت موسیٰؑ اور حضرت ابراہیمؑ پر نازل ہونے والے صحیفوں کے کل حروف کا دس گنا ثواب عطاکرے گا (مجمع البیان، ج۱۰ص۳۲۶)۔ شیخ صدوقؒ نے امام جعفر صادقؑ سے روایت کی ہے : جوشخص واجب یا مستحب نما ز میں سورۂ اعلیٰ کی تلا وت کرے تو قیامت کے دن اس کو کہا جا ئے گا کہ جنت کے جس دروازے سے چاہو داخل ہو جاؤ۔

بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْاَعْلَى

Sabbihi isma rabbika al-a'laa

Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High

اپنے بلند ترین رب کے نام کی تسبیح کرو۔

اَلَّذِيْ خَلَقَ فَسَوّٰى

Allazee khalaqa fasawwaa

Who creates, then makes complete

جس نے پیدا کیا ہے اور درست بنایا ہے۔

وَالَّذِيْ قَدَّرَ فَهَدٰى

Wallazee qaddara fahadaa

And Who makes (things) according to a measure, then guides (them to their goal)

جس نے تقدیر معین کی ہے اور پھر ہدایت دی ہے۔

وَالَّذِيْٓ اَخْرَجَ الْمَرْعٰى

Wallazee akhraja al-mar'aa

And Who brings forth herbage

جس نے چارہ بنایا ہے۔

فَجَعَلَهٗ غُثَآءً اَحْوٰى

Faja'alahoo ghuthaa'an ahwaa

Then makes it dried up, dust-colored.

پھر اسے خشک کر کے سیاہ رنگ کا کوڑا بنا دیا ہے۔

سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنْسٰٓى

Sanuqri'uka falaa tansaa

We will make you recite so you shall not forget

ہم عنقریب تمہیں اس طرح پڑھائیں گے کہ بھول نہ سکو گے۔

اِلَّا مَا شَآءَ اللهُ اِنَّهٗ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفٰى

Illaa maa shaa'a allaahu innahoo ya'lamu al-jahra wamaa yakhfaa

Except what Allah pleases, surely He knows the manifest, and what is hidden.

مگر یہ کہ خدا ہی چاہے کہ وہ ہر ظاہر اور مخفی رہنے والی چیز کو جانتا ہے۔

وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرٰى

Wanuyassiruka lil-yusraa

And We will make your way smooth to a state of ease.

اور ہم تم کو آسان راستہ کی توفیق دیں گے۔

فَذَكِّرْ اِن نَّفَعَتِ الذِّكْرٰى

Fazakkir in nafa'ati az-zikraa

Therefore do remind, surely reminding does profit.

لہذا لوگوں کو سمجھاؤ اگر سمجھانے کا فائدہ ہو۔

سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَنْ يَّخْشٰى

Sayazzakkaru man yakhshaa

He who fears will mind

عنقریب خوفِ خدا رکھنے والا سمجھ جائے گا۔

وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الْاَشْقٰى

Wayatajannabuhaa al-ashqaa

And the most unfortunate one will avoid it

اور بدبخت اس سے کنارہ کشی کرے گا۔

اَلَّذِيْ يَصْلَى النَّارَ الْكُبْرٰى

Allazee yaslaa an-naara al-kubraa

Who shall enter the great fire;

جو بہت بڑی آگ میں جلنے والا ہے۔

ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوْتُ فِيْهَا وَلَا يَحْيٰى

Thumma laa yamootu feehaa walaa yahyaa

Then therein he shall neither live nor die.

پھر نہ اس میں زندگی ہے نہ موت۔

قَدْ اَفْلَحَ مَنْ تَزَكّٰی

Qad aflaha man tazakkaa

He indeed shall be successful who purifies himself

بے شک پاکیزہ رہنے والا کامیاب ہو گیا۔

وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهٖ فَصَلّٰى

Wazakara isma rabbihee fasallaa

And magnifies the name of his Lord and prays.

جس نے اپنے رب کے نام کی تسبیح کی اور پھر نماز پڑھی۔

بَلْ تُؤْثِرُوْنَ الْحَيٰوةَ الدُّنْيَا

Bal tu'thiroona al-hayaata ad-dunyaa

Nay! you prefer the life of this world

لیکن تم لوگ زندگانی دنیا کو مقدم رکھتے ہو۔

وَالْاٰخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَّاَبْقٰى

Wal-aakhiratu khayrun wa-abqaa

While the hereafter is better and more lasting.

جب کہ آخرت بہتر اور ہمیشہ رہنے والی ہے۔

اِنَّ هٰذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الْاُوْلٰى

Inna haazaa lafee as-suhufi al-oolaa

Most surely this is in the earlier scriptures

یہ بات تمام پہلے صحیفوں میں بھی موجود ہے۔

صُحُفِ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ وَمُوْسٰى

Suhufi ibraaheema wamoosaa

The scriptures of Ibrahim and Musa.

ابراہیمؑ کے صحیفوں میں بھی اور موسٰیؑ کے صحیفوں میں بھی۔

صَدَقَ اللهُ الْعَلِیُّ الْعَظِیْمُ۔

Sadaqa allaahu al-'aliyyu al-'azeem.

Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.

اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
