Surah A’laq (96, 19 ayat)سورۂ علق

It begins with the command to read in the name of the Lord who created, who made man from a clot and taught by the pen what man did not know. The subject turns to man, inordinate because he sees himself free from want, and to one who forbids a servant when he prays, asked whether he knows that Allah sees. The closing instruction: do not obey him, but make obeisance and draw near.

Clot (Makki)

Imam Jafar Sadiq (a) said that whoever recites this Surah in the daytime or at night, and then passes away, he will be counted amongst the martyrs who died while fighting on the side of the Holy Prophet (s)It is highly recommended to recite this Surah while travelling and it acts as a safety from accidents. If recited on a treasure, it remains safe.

امام صادقؑ فرماتے ہیں:جس نے سورۂ علق کی تلاوت کی اس کی موت شہید کی موت ہوگی،شہید اُٹھایا جائے گا،شہید کی زندگی بسر کرے گا، راہِ خدا میں رکاب رسول کے ساتھ جنگ کرنے والے کے ثواب کا مستحق قرار پائے گا۔ (مجمع البیان ج۱۰ص۳۹۶)

بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

اِقْرَاْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِيْ خَلَقَ

Iqraa bismi rabbika allazee khalaq

Read in the name of your Lord Who created.

اس خدا کا نام لے کر پڑھو جس نے پیدا کیا ہے۔

خَلَقَ الْاِنْسَانَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ

Khalaqa al-insaana min 'alaq

He created man from a clot.

اس نے انسان کو جمے ہوئے خون سے پیدا کیا ہے۔

اِقْرَاْ وَرَبُّكَ الْاَكْرَمُ

Iqraa warabbuka al-akram

Read and your Lord is Most Honorable

پڑھو اور تمہارا پروردگار بڑا کریم ہے۔

اَلَّذِيْ عَلَّمَ بِالْقَلَمِ

Allazee 'allama bil-qalam

Who taught (to write) with the pen

جس نے قلم کے ذریعے تعلیم دی ہے۔

عَلَّمَ الْاِنْسَانَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ

'Allama al-insaana maa lam ya'lam

Taught man what he knew not.

اور انسان کو وہ سب کچھ بتا دیا ہے جو اسے نہیں معلوم تھا۔

كَلَّآ اِنَّ الْاِنْسَانَ لَيَطْغٰى

Kallaa inna al-insaana layatghaa

Nay! man is most surely inordinate

بے شک انسان سرکشی کرتا ہے۔

اَن رَّاٰهُ اسْتَغْنٰى

An ra'aahu istaghnaa

Because he sees himself free from want.

کہ اپنے کو بے نیاز خیال کرتا ہے۔

اِنَّ اِلٰى رَبِّكَ الرُّجْعٰى

Inna ilaa rabbika ar-ruj'aa

Surely to your Lord is the return.

بے شک آپ کے رب کی طرف واپسی ہے۔

اَرَئَيْتَ الَّذِيْ يَنْهٰى

Ara'ayta allazee yanhaa

Have you seen him who forbids

کیا تم نے اس شخص کو دیکھا ہے جو منع کرتا ہے۔

عَبْدًا اِذَا صَلّٰى

'Abdan izaa sallaa

A servant when he prays?

بندہِ خدا کو جب وہ نماز پڑھتا ہے۔

اَرَئَيْتَ اِنْ كَانَ عَلَى الْهُدٰى

Ara'ayta in kaana 'alaa al-hudaa

Have you considered if he were on the right way

کیا تم نے دیکھا کہ اگر وہ بندہ ہدایت پر ہو۔

اَوْ اَمَرَ بِالتَّقْوٰى

Aw amara bit-taqwaa

Or enjoined guarding (against evil)?

یا تقویٰ کا حکم دے تو روکنا کیسا ہے۔

اَرَئَيْتَ اِنْ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلّٰى

Ara'ayta in kazzaba watawallaa

Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back?

کیا تم نے دیکھا کہ اگر اس کافر نے جھٹلایا اور منہ پھیر لیا۔

اَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ بِاَنَّ اللهَ يَرٰى

Alam ya'lam bi-anna allaaha yaraa

Does he not know that Allah does see?

تو کیا اسے نہیں معلوم کہ اللہ دیکھ رہا ہے۔

كَلَّا لَئِن لَّمْ يَنْتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًۢا بِالنَّاصِيَةِ

Kallaa la'in lam yantahi lanasfa'an bin-naasiyah

Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead

یاد رکھو اگر وہ روکنے سے باز نہ آیا تو ہم پیشانی کے بال پکڑ کر گھسیٹیں گے۔

نَاصِيَةٍ كَاذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍ

Naasiyatin kaazibatin khaati'ah

A lying, sinful forehead.

جھوٹے اور خطا کار کی پیشانی کے بال۔

فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهٗ

Fal-yad'u naadiyah

Then let him summon his council

پھر وہ اپنے ہم نشینوں کو بلائے۔

سَنَدْعُ الزَّبَانِيَةَ

Sanad'u az-zabaaniyah

We too would summon the braves of the army.

ہم بھی اپنے جلاد فرشتوں کو بلاتے ہیں۔

كَلَّاؕ لَا تُطِعْهُ وَاسْجُدْ وَاقْتَرِبْ۩

Kallaaؕ laa tuti'hu wasjud waqtarib

Nay! obey him not, and make obeisance and draw nigh (to Allah).

دیکھو تم ہرگز اس کی اطاعت نہ کرنا اور سجدہ کر کے قرب خدا حاصل کرو۔

Dua-e-Sajdah

دُعاء سجدہ

صَدَقَ اللهُ الْعَلِیُّ الْعَظِیْمُ۔

Sadaqa allaahu al-'aliyyu al-'azeem.

Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.

اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
