Surah Lail (92, 21 ayat)
Oaths by the night, the day and the creating of male and female open a text that divides striving in two. One man gives, guards against evil and accepts the best, and is eased to the easy end; the other hoards, counts himself free of need, rejects the best, and is eased to the difficult end. It closes on wealth given to purify oneself, seeking the pleasure of the Lord.

Night (Makki)
The Holy Prophet (s) has said that the reward of reciting this Surah is so much that the one who recites it will be pleased when he sees it in his Book of Deeds. His inspiration of good deeds (Tawfiq) will also increase. If recited 15 times before sleeping, one will dream about what pleases him most. Reciting it in the Isha prayers, carries the reward of completing a quarter of the holy Qur’an and is guaranteed that the prayers are accepted.
Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
Wallayli izaa yaghshaa
I swear by the night when it draws a veil
Wan-nahaari izaa tajallaa
And the day when it shines in brightness
Wamaa khalaqa az-zakara wal-unthaa
And the creating of the male and the female
Inna sa'yakum lashattaa
Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends).
Fa-ammaa man a'taa wattaqaa
Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil)
Wasaddaqa bil-husnaa
And accepts the best
Fasanuyassiruhoo lil-yusraa
We will facilitate for him the easy end.
Wa-ammaa man bakhila wastaghnaa
And as for him who is parsimonious and considers himself free from need (of Allah)
Wakazzaba bil-husnaa
And rejects the best
Fasanuyassiruhoo lil-'usraa
We will facilitate for him the difficult end.
Wamaa yughnee 'anhu maaluhoo izaa taraddaa
And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes.
Inna 'alaynaa lal-hudaa
Surely Ours is it to show the way
Wa-inna lanaa lal-aakhirata wal-oolaa
And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former.
Fa-anzartukum naaran talazzaa
Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames:
Laa yaslaahaa illaa al-ashqaa
None shall enter it but the most unhappy
Allazee kazzaba watawallaa
Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back.
Wasayujannabuhaa al-atqaa
And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil)
Allazee yu'tee maalahoo yatazakkaa
Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself.
Wamaa li-ahadin 'indahoo min ni'matin tujzaa
And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded
Illaa ibtighaa'a wajhi rabbihi al-a'laa
Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High.
Walasawfa yardaa
And he shall soon be well-pleased.
Sadaqa allaahu al-'aliyyu al-'azeem.
Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.
