Surah Zuha (93, 11 ayat)سورۂ ضحیٰ

Oaths by the early hours of the day and the covering night open a reassurance: your Lord has not forsaken you nor grown displeased, and what comes after is better than what has gone. It recalls an orphan given shelter, one found lost and unrecognized by men, one in want made free of want. Three instructions close it: do not oppress the orphan, do not chide the one who asks, announce your Lord's favour.

Brightness (Makki)

It is narrated from the Holy Prophet (s) that Allah (s) is pleased with a person who recites this Surah. If recited together with name of a person who has gone missing, he will return home safe and sound. If something is forgotten somewhere by mistake, the recitation of this Surah keeps it safe until you get it back.

رسول اکرمؐ نے فرمایا:جو شخص سورۂ ضحیٰ کی تلاوت کرے گا اس سے اللہ تعالیٰ راضی ہوگا،میں شفیع بنوں گا اورہریتیم وسائل کا دس گنا ثواب اسے عطا کیا جائے گا۔ (مجمع البیان،ج۱۰ص۳۷۹)

بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem

In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

وَالضُّحٰى

Wad-duhaa

I swear by the early hours of the day

قسم ہے ایک پہر چڑھے دن (دوپہر) کی۔

وَالَّيْلِ اِذَا سَجٰى

Wallayli izaa sajaa

And the night when it covers with darkness.

اور قسم ہے رات کی جب وہ چیزوں کی پردہ پوشی کرے۔

مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلٰى

Maa wadda'aka rabbuka wamaa qalaa

Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor has He become displeased

تمہارے پروردگار نے نہ تم کو چھوڑا ہے اور نہ تم سے ناراض ہوا ہے۔

وَلَلْاٰخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لَّكَ مِنَ الْاُوْلٰى

Walal'aakhiratu khayrun laka mina al-oolaa

And surely what comes after is better for you than that which has gone before.

اور آخرت تمہارے لئے دنیا سے کہیں زیادہ بہتر ہے۔

وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيْكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضٰى

Walasawfa yu'teeka rabbuka fatardaa

And soon will your Lord give you so that you shall be well pleased.

اور عنقریب تمہارا پروردگار تمہیں اس قدر عطا کر دے گا کہ خوش ہو جاؤ۔

اَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيمًا فَاٰوٰى

Alam yajidka yateeman fa-aawaa

Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter?

کیا اس نے تم کو یتیم پاکر پناہ نہیں دی ہے۔

وَوَجَدَكَ ضَآلًّا فَهَدٰى

Wawajadaka daallan fahadaa

And find you lost (i.e. unrecognized by men) and guide (them to you)?

اور کیا تم کو گم گشتہ (گم شدہ) پاکر منزل تک نہیں پہنچایا ہے۔

وَوَجَدَكَ عَآئِلًا فَاَغْنٰى

Wawajadaka 'aa'ilan fa-aghnaa

And find you in want and make you to be free from want?

اور تم کو تنگ دست پاکر غنی نہیں بنایا ہے۔

فَاَمَّا الْيَتِيْمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْ

Fa-ammaa al-yateema falaa taqhar

Therefore, as for the orphan, do not oppress (him).

لہذا اب تم یتیم پر قہر نہ کرنا۔

وَاَمَّا السَّآئِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ

Wa-ammaa as-saa'ila falaa tanhar

And as for him who asks, do not chide (him)

اور سائل کوجھڑک مت دینا۔

وَاَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ

Wa-ammaa bini'mati rabbika fahaddith

And as for the favor of your Lord, do announce (it).

اور اپنے پروردگار کی نعمتوں کو برابر بیان کرتے رہنا۔

صَدَقَ اللهُ الْعَلِیُّ الْعَظِیْمُ۔

Sadaqa allaahu al-'aliyyu al-'azeem.

Almighty God the most high speaks the truth.

اللہ بزرگ و برتر نے سچ فرمایا ہے۔
