In his book of al-Misbah, Shaykh Tusi has reported Safwan as saying from Imam Sadiq (a) that before you proceed for journey, keep 3 fasts and on the 3rd day perform ghusl, wear pure (paak) clothes, apply perfume, gather your family members, offer a 2 rakat Namaz (like Namaz-e-Fajr), pray for safe journey, recite Aayatul Kursi, praise Allah (swt), invoke salawaat and recite dua Allahumma inni astawde okal.
سفر پر جانے سے قبل ۳ دن روزہ رکھے اور تیسرے دن غسل کرے، غسل کے بعدپھر اپنے اہل وعیال کو جمع کرکے ۲ رکعت نماز ادا کرے اور حق تعالیٰ سے اپنی خیریت کی دعا مانگے اور اس کے بعدآیت الکرسی پڑھے، اﷲ کی حمد و ثنا بجا لائے، محمدؐ وآل محمدؑ پر درود بھیجے اور پھر دعا اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّيْ اَسْتَوْدِعُكَ پڑھے۔
You may then bid your family members farewell and stand up. At the door of your house, you may recite Tasbeeh-e-Zahra (s), Surah Fateha and Aayatul Kursi in front of you, on your right side, and on your left side. You may then recite dua Allahumma ilaika wajjahto.
اس کے بعد اپنے اہل وعیال کو وداع کرے اور اپنے مکان کے دروازے پر کھڑے ہوکر تسبیح فاطمہ زہراؑ پڑھے،پھر سامنے دائیں اور بائیں طرف منہ کر کے سورۂ فاتحہ پڑھے اور اسی طرح آیت الکرسی بھی تینوں طرف منہ کر کے ایک ایک مرتبہ پڑھے،پھر دعا اَللّٰهُمَّ اِلَيْكَ وَجَّهْتُ پڑھے۔
You may then recite Surah Ikhlaas 11-times, Surah Qadr, Aayatul Kursi, Surah Falaq, and Surah Naas once, and then pass your hand over your entire body, give sadaqa (alms) as much as possible, and recite dua Allahumma inni ish tarai-to.
پھر ۱۱ مرتبہ سورۂ اخلاص پڑھے،ایک مرتبہ سورۂ قدر، آیت الکرسی، سورۂ فلق اور سورۂ ناس پڑھ کر اپنے ہاتھوں کو بدن پر مس کرے اور جس قدر ہوسکے صدقہ دے اور پھر دعا اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّيْ اِشْتَرَيْتُ پڑھے۔
You may also take with you an almond stick. The Holy Prophet (s) is reported to have said: “Whoever goes on a journey, takes with him an almond stick, and recites the verse of Surah Qasas (28:22), Almighty Allah will secure him from all beasts, all thieves, and all venomous creatures until he returns home. He will be also accompanied by 77 successive angels asking Almighty Allah to forgive him.
سفر کے دوران تلخ بادام کی لکڑی کا عصا بھی اپنے پاس رکھے۔کیوں کہ روایت میں ہے : جو شخص سفر پر جائے اور تلخ بادام کا عصا اپنے پاس رکھ کر قصص: ۲۲ کی آیتوں کو پڑھے تو خدا اس کو ہر درندے،چور اور ہر زہریلے حیوان سے محفوظ رکھے گا یہاں تک کہ وہ اپنے گھر واپس پہنچ جائے گا۔نیز (۷۷) فرشتےاس کے ہمراہ رہیں گے اور جب تک وہ شخص واپس آکر اپنا عصا ہاتھ سے رکھ نہ دے گا وہ اس کے لئے استغفار کرتے رہیں گے۔
It is also recommended that you, at journeys, put a turban and roll it to the lower jaw so as to escape theft, drowning, and burning. You may also take an amount of the soil of Imam Husain’s tomb (Khaak-e-Shifa) with you, saying…
سنت ہے کہ عمامہ باندھ کر روانہ ہو اور اس میں تحت الحنک بھی لگائے رکھے تاکہ کوئی نقصان نہ پہنچے اسے کوئی چور نہ لوٹے،دریا میں غرق نہ ہو اور آگ میں جل کے نہ مرے نیز کربلاء معلّیٰ کی تھوڑی سی خاکِ شفا بھی اپنے پاس رکھے اور یہ خاک اٹھاتے وقت یہ دعاپڑھے۔۔۔
بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
Bismi allaahi ar-rahmaani ar-raheem
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
اللہ کے نام سے (شروع کرتا ہوں) جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ هٰذِهٖ طِيْنَةُ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ وَلِيِّكَ وَابْنِ وَلِيِّكَ اتَّخَذْتُهَا حِرْزًا لِمَا اَخَافُ وَمَا لَا اَخَافُ۔
Allaahumma haazihee teenatu qabri al-husayni 'alayhi as-salaamu waliyyika wabni waliyyika ittakhaztuhaa hirzan limaa akhaafu wamaa laa akhaaf.
O Allah, this soil from the tomb of Husain, peace be upon him, Your saint and the son of Your saint, I have taken with me as refuge against whatever I fear and whatever I do not fear.
اے معبود! یہ تیرے ولی اور تیرے ولی کے فرزند حسینؑ کے مزار کی خاک ہے کہ جو میں نے اپنی پناہ کے لئے اٹھائی اس چیز سے جس سے ڈرتا ہوں اور جس سے نہیں ڈرتا۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ۔
Allaahumma salli 'alaa muhammadin wa-aali muhammad.
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
اے معبود! رحمت نازل فرما حضرت محمدؐ اور انکی آلؑ پر۔
You may also take with you rings whose stones are made of agate and turquoise. It is more preferable to take with you a ring whose stone is made of yellow agate with the following inscription on one side…
سفر میں عقیق و فیروزہ کی انگوٹھی پہنے اور خصوصاً عقیقِ زرد کی انگوٹھی کہ جس پر ایک طرف یہ نقش ہو۔۔۔
مَا شَاءَ اللهُ لَا قُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِاللهِ اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ۔
Maa shaa'a allaahu laa quwwata illaa billaahi astaghfiru allaah.
Only what Allah wills will come to pass! There is no strength save in Allah! I implore Allah’s forgiveness.
وہی ہوگا جو خدا چاہے نہیں کوئی قوت سوائے اﷲکے میں اﷲسے بخشش مانگتا ہوں۔
And on the other side, the following is inscribed…
اور دوسری طرف یہ دونوں اسماء مبارکہ نقش کیے گئے ہوں۔۔۔
مُحَمَّدٌ وَعَلِىٌّ
Muhammadun wa'aliyy
Muhammad and Ali
محمدؐ و علیؑ
Then leave your home and continue to repeat this zikr as you walk…
اس کے بعد نہایت عاجزی اور فروتنی کے ساتھ گھر سے نکلے اور یہ کلمات کثرت سے دہراتا جائے۔۔۔
لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللہُ وَاللہُ اَكْبَرُ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلهِ۔
Laa ilaaha illaa allaahu wallaahu akbaru wal-hamdu lillaah.
There is no god save Allah. Allah is the Greatest. All praise be to Allah.
اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں اللہ بزرگ تر ہے اور حمد اللہ ہی کے لئے ہے۔
